I’ve had my own beehives and been making mead for over a decade now and I have to say that golden hives mead making process is almost exactly like mine, and it is awesome. High bodied, high ABV low back sweetening, and plenty of age. That is how you do mead. Also teas are very underrated and should be used in almost every mead.
long time mead maker here (24 years on and off). GHM is ok. he's a little monotone in his presentation, but all in all no complaints. when I tried to start a business either people had zero idea or interest ing mead making, or they had been doing it before I was born (I'm 50 now) and didn't need my opinions... so as with everything else in my life, I failed at that. kinda glad to see someone can make a living making mead.
I'm relatively new to this channel and I was worried by the title & thumbnail that this was like, a callout post and that Goldenhive's videos were faked.
I've been making my own wine and 5 gallon batches for like 22 years now and it's only gotten better and things that guys like this who make golden Hive Mead have given me more pointers and stuff like recently I started using more flowers in my stuff like hibiscus and it's been pretty rewarding so yeah
I am doing a lot of mead which got me into ciders and grafs and hard kombucha and tepaches. I haven’t done a beer yet since it seems like a lot of work to get a mill and grain and all the cooling and straining. It seems like so much work compared to mead or other ferments.
Golden Hive is getting lots of hate from other youtube meaders. I think its cause he is coming in hot and doing great format with the shorts. I dont think I would buy his honey cause Im still starting out and costco honey is just fine for right now. I really enjoy how he is willing to experiment and try crazy things that maybe other "Mead makers" might not try or be wiling to try. Bro needs a head net on those legs though being so close to the open glasses.. LMFAO.
He gets hate because his stuff is overpriced and preys on newbies who are ignorant. I get trying to make a buck, but there are other creators who make content just for the betterment of the homebrew community.
@@Chaunkah_da_caveman A lot of these online store take advantage of the new Brewer with these kits they create. A person should do some research to prevent being ripped off or taken advantage of. Hell my some got bamboozled by a craftabrew and got a rootbeer kit that cost him nearly $40 to get it and the rootbeer was not that great. I showed him we could have made our own version for half the cost and it was better. I realized this after my first beer kit I got from norther brewer, my recipes are better to me and cost way less.
@@Chaunkah_da_caveman Yeah his prices are just beyond predatory. The basic kit is almost 50% more expensive than others, and the honey he is selling is so unbelievably overpriced for wildflower honey. $40 for 3lbs of honey aka $13 per POUND. Disappointing to see Clawhammer Supply pushing this product, makes me question their products if they're willing to push this out to people.
He usually leaves it to age for about a month or two when racking and he'll after stabilising and bottling he says it's best to leave for about a year to help the flavours balance out
Amoxicillin mead coming soon
the hype is real for this one
I remember the pink amoxicillin, and I loved it!
Is that like a bubblegum flavor? That's what I remember the pink medicine tasting like as a kid
Pepto Bismol Mead
Dang, I'm allergic to that
Should have had a tasting of the Mountain Dew wine.
Oh, just you wait.

Feels like this comment was made for me
@@GodMaxDrinkerofTea the drinker of tea approves! There for; I am correct!

His prices takes advantage of newcomers, which is his primary audience. Nothing wrong with his simple content despite being boring, hes simply greedy

Perfect opportunity to do a braggot together.
