#ASMR is an acronym commonly used to describe the tingly/buzzing/static sensation associated with certain audio/visual stimulae - often whispering/soft-spoken voice, and other quiet triggers. It's a similar feeling to 'frisson' - the shivers that run up your spine when watching an incredible scene in a film, or really /feeling/ amazing music. It's the best. - บันเทิง

Disgraceful and false advertising. There is significant light from a lamp and the window, as well as a small candle, and as such I can clearly see the academic in question. While turning down the brightness of my screen has somewhat ameliorated the issue, I still find this to be "partially-illuminated academia" as opposed to "dark" academia. While I find the hushed storytelling, gentle rain, and book noises to be very pleasant, and have some suspicion that I may not have a full understanding of what "Dark Academia" is, I must still regretfully give this video only a 11/10 and a tentative thumbs-up until changes are made such that I can no longer see the academic in question.
I appreciate how this character calls out the mistreatment of women in Greek mythology and tries to steer you away from portraying a romanticized interpretation of it. I like that he's a great storyteller who clearly cares about the material and genuinely tries to inform you of things that might help push your (admittedly weak) arguments in a direction that might actually allow you to craft a decent essay. We need more professors like this guy.

I always found that the legend of medusa could be seen in two ways. One in which Athena punished Medusa into becoming a gorgon taking her beauty and forsaking her for her sins, or rather the second that she saves medusa "cursing" her into becoming a gorgon so that no man may harm her again as she had been harmed by Poseidon, showing that the male gaze is punished for daring to look upon her beauty with ill intension
I don't care how much or little you post, I always love watching you. This one particularly resonated as far as theme and things I enjoy. Love your work Atlas, you're a delicious morsel for all my senses.

He did not break the back of the book, what he did is what you have to do in order to be able to open a book completely without breaking the back

I recall having to do a project in my AP English class in high school where I had to come up with 20 different allusions and I sourced quite a few from Greek/Roman mythology. Ajax in particular was one I remember, along with the Avro Vulcan aircraft used by the RAF & their Rolls-Royce "Olympus" engine
Also, as a major fan of the GoW franchise I most certainly agree with Olympians *easily* defeating the Aesir AND Vanir gods of Norse myth. Sure, the Asgardians are powerful and have unique magic/weapons -- but the Olympians are just a different breed entirely. There's actually some dialogue from GoW Ragnarok that goes over the Three Fates & their ability to manipulate time itself to "win a battle that was once lost" (in reference to the outcome of the Titanomachy) where Freya and Mimir can't even fathom that kind of power since none of their kind can do that lol

One really cool modern use of a greek symbol is the rod of Asclepius. He was a minor deity of medicine and healing, that was said to have created a cure to bring back the dead, which angered Hades since he claimed their souls had already crossed into his realm and this belonged to him. Lot of hospitals and medical facilities still use his signature staff with two snakes intertwined around it as a symbol of healing and medicine, so not only has it survived into the modern era but it’s still maintained the same usage it would’ve likely seen back in the Greek era
Yes!! However! - the rod of Asclepius is in fact a staff with a single snake curled around it. The double snakes around a winged rod is actually the Caduceus - the symbol of Hermes ie. of commerce, thieves and travellers. The Caduceus is erroneously used as a symbol of medicine in loads of places (including the US Military) when in actual fact it should be a single snake around a rod as a medical symbol!

Hades was actually one of if not the most neutral gods but the underworld and satan brought his name down.
I always hold out and stay awake to hear “Hades… Unexpected, feminist icon…” it just gets a little laugh or a smile from me every time… Who wrote this paper I want to talk to them 😄 then I fall asleep 😴 I’m not sure why but this one and man on the train seem to be sure wins for me? But man on the train always has me a little anxious in case I don’t fall asleep before he dies… I woke up at that part once after having listened to him for some months and it genuinely made me sad 🥹

There's several different interpretations of Persephone's story and one of them is that it wasn't actually abduction but more or less a plan to get her some degree of freedom from her over controlling mother / that she would have known eating food from the underworld kept you there and was more accepting the offer to stay with Hades by taking the food.
