- We spend two nights wild off-grid camping on the beautiful beach at Llanddona, on the island of Anglesey (Ynys Mon), in North Wales (Cymru). We bake a cheese and onion pie in the dutch oven on the BBQ and enjoy a couple of lovely sunsets.

That is an awesome location. Glad they have removed the no camping signs. You two are the masters of the Dutch oven, that cheese and onion pie looked delicious. We always look forward to watching your videos, keep them coming 😀

We didn’t notice any no camping signs when we were at Llanddona. We were just passing through and spent a relaxing morning there. The road down and back up again was a bit hairy 😬

Cheers guys. It was a big pie lol but we managed to force it down. The Boathouse does nice food but it is a very limited menu so I usually end up having the same thing lol. Always enjoy the walk though. Great weather certainly helps.

Thanks. Hope you have a great time. Just be aware that the situation at Llanddona changes from time to time and sometimes unofficial signs go up saying no overnight camping. They’re not official though so can’t be enforced.

@@CamperVanya True. Luckily at Llanddona we've never seen any litter or any problem behaviour. The issue seems to be with one guy who's recently built his own house on the front and doesn't want other people enjoying it. Nobody else seems bothered. Happy travels x
Just back from the island and heading back in May. Looks like a perfect overnight spot for us to try out
It's fab and you'll love it. Roads down are a bit scary but worth it. Some signs restricting dog walking to certain areas on the beach but no-one seems to pay any attention to them x

Cheers Mark. It really is an amazing spot. There are three roads down to the beach and all are steep and narrow with few passing places. Our advice is get there early or late to avoid meeting anything coming the other way. Once you're there though you'll love it x

New subscriber (thanks Ken for the recommendation) and although I’m too much of a wimp to try wild camping I love Anglesey. We have a Transit camper too, but yours must be a Tardis because we couldn’t carry half of your cooking stuff. 😂
Thanks for watching and commenting. Nice van. We wanted the orange one but would have had to have waited at least 5 months and we were too impatient lol. Happy enough with the magnetic grey though. Most stuff gets stored under the bed where there's loads of room. There are cupboards all around the high top too which helps x
Just to let you know we went to check this out last night, 1st May and there are big yellow signs all over the place saying no overnight camping now. It is a shame.
Hi guys. Yes, we were there Friday night and someone has put signs back up. We stayed anyway as we know they’re not official signs. Police have been recently and just advised everyone to respect the place and not leave any litter which is fine by us. We get the sense they’re more fed up with the person complaining than the people camping. We had two very peaceful nights there and would go again but understand why others might be put off as we were initially. Where did you end up staying btw? There’s a nice spot just across the bay at Pentraeth where there are no signs. We stayed there Sunday night. Lovely.
@@adogaday ahh thanks for that we will look there. We ended up going to Penmon Point. Guy was still on the gate at 8.00pm so we got charged and told we would be charged again as we left this morning. So we left at 5.00am bwfore he got there. Was it the yellow signs on different roads around that were up on Friday?
@@CampervanTales well done for not paying double at Pen Mon. He’s quite a difficult chap to avoid so you’ve done well lol. We’re happy to stay at llanddona still despite the signs going back up but it’s up to you. Pentraeth is lovely too though if your not sure. Great for walking the dogs too. Just watch out for adders.
@@CampervanTales there was a yellow sign at the entrance to the beach and a couple of “polite notices” too. All unofficial and impossible to enforce. It may change in the future so making the most of it while we can x

Hi I just come across your channel and I must say it most enjoyable, instructive and relaxing. The cheese and potato pie looks yummy, I make it and have only known it without a pastry crust, so will have to try it.
If you ever come Norfolk way again, do try the crab again but on its own. It’s quite a sweet taste that may have been lost by adding mayonnaise.

Aw bless you, that's very kind. I guess the reality is that people prefer jagerbombs and crack to warm horlicks lol. To be fair though this is just a bit of a hobby for us so we don't have to chase subs and views like those who are trying to make a living from it. The aim is really just to show people some beautiful locations, nice food and some interesting nature so others get out there and enjoy it themselves. Thanks again for the support though...it really does make it worthwhile x
That was another great video. Wales is a beautiful place. And guess what. 🥁🥁🥁I picked up my van. So just getting to grips with how things work. I will be ready to hit the road when the weather gets better. It’s going to snow soon up here tonight.

Yay! Super excited for you. We are thinking of heading out somewhere wed night and thought maybe dumfries and galloway or the borders. Would be an interesting change for us, camping in the snow. No outdoor cooking though lol.
You guys are tough heading out in this weather. I hope you post a video of it. I will wait till the weather is better and I know what I am doing. Before I head out somewhere There was snow overnight but it is gone now.

Glencoe is a beautiful place all year round and a wonderful place to visit. No shops and not a lot of place’s to park , but Fort William is not far up the road. Don’t know how much snow they have but take your ski’s with you 👍🥶🥶
