Great video, thanks for sharing and I took some notes; that bag is certainly not the most expensive or the toughest but it gets the job done. I have the same bag and I was surprised as to how much I could fit in those 25L. I don't use canteens for water but have a 1.5L hydration bag in the space provided. I attached a Gerber Strongarm knife with Molle to the left side and inserted it into the water bottle pocket, that way it's immediately accesible but out of the way, can't snag on anything. An additional water bottle (20 oz) is on the right side in a bag attached with Molle, as is a tourniquet in its dedicated pouch with shears, also attached via Molle and ready to be deployed. An IFAK is in the upper front pocket immediately accesible as well, not a true trauma pack due to limited space but carry most things to take care of small wounds and bleeding (a couple of Israeli bandages are inside the bag). The lower front pocket I carry miscellaneous stuff including a small but powerful flashlight, a multitool, fire kit, and other items.
Nice load out. I would lose the plastic tent stakes and replace them with aluminum ones. I have found you can fit four 7" aluminum stakes from REI in a single toothbrush holder. Average is $2.50/stake. Depending on which bag I am carrying and whether I am using a poncho or a tarp for shelter, I carry 4-8 stakes with me. You can also find similar tent stakes at Walmart. Wrapping your duct tape around an old credit or gift card and getting rid of the cardboard roll saves a lot of space too. You can go smaller and lighter using a little more imagination. I still enjoyed your video and learned some things from it too.
I find that the headlamp is much more practical than larger flashlights. Also always pack spare batteries. And for pogi bait I like stuff that doesn't melt. Chocolate bars can be more of a mess than I like. But this is just me observations. Good video by the way.
Update: this is obviously a pretty old video and a lot has changed, this was a really minimalist load, my main focus was to see how well I could pack and assault bag for an extended period of time, but there will be a full ruck video coming soon
I’m not able to join the military due to my health trouble and physical disability. I live in Canada too so, equipment might be a bit different. But anyway, I bought a 3 day assault pack off of Amazon, for bush craft and camping trips. I like the military style packs due to the space and durability. Videos like these help me figure out how to pack it well.
You know, this pack did remind me if the MSM line of backs (collab with Tactical tailor), but with a bit more features added to the mix. They are pretty good packs especially the Boss Beaver, you should check them out.
Mine is set up similar but i run a small crowbar along the side. For some reason that stupid crowbar has gotten me out of a lot of jams! Great video dude.👍
why wouldn't you put the life straw in the outside compartment? because you are carrying a canteen? even so I would have it with the other water stuff in the outside pocket where its easy to get to.
sour mash my ammo and ifak are on my fighting rig, think before you comment, this was a lightweight kit otherwise I would have additional rounds and whatnot in the ruck too
If you wrap your duct tape around a lighter or another item it’ll take up a lot less room. Great kit man, I look forward to seeing more!

myrthmaker thanks for the pointers and thanks for watching!
@@MastiffTactical I would also change the tarp and poncho liner to a fjellduken, also replaces the sleeping bag when it's warmer

Field stripping the M.R.E. is the way to go, but honestly I thought spam was a interesting idea !!! Thank you.
Speaking of spam, is that sold in packages by any chance? As opposed to the cans?
Aaron Wanamaker yes.
Well organized and packed.
Great review, pack is amazing edc and a value at under $30 on Amazon 👍 configure with molle pouches of your preference and it's good to go👍

Have you ever thought about getting everything inside a large ALICE?
Kurt Baier it can easily be done, the large Alice is better for larger loads though

Alot better that the old ALICE gear when you were expected to live out of your buttpack for three days if necessary.
