He may have played in the original song as most people are saying, but it seems he's definitely out of practice for many years. This performance is hardly 30% of the original song. The guitar parts in the original song are absolutely flawless, and on a totally different level of perfection.

He is full of experiences and therefore can improvise....but original is the best and will remain as a bookmark of one of the greatest solo ever made!!❤❤👌👌👏...many notes are missed but that doesn't matter because in the original recording he has just done the fantastic thing in guitar...magic in other words.❤❤❤☺☺🤩

Sunil Koushik is a well known guitarist in Bollywood. Counterpart of late ramesh aiyyar of RD burman group. He is original composer of guitar piece in nile...So please ignore some wrong note.

Ilayaraja composed the original tune, which was accentuated by Kalyanji-Anandji and probably Viju Shah... if one listens to original tune, it is a very simple tune... I would say 10% credit to Ilayaraja, rest 90% divided between Kishore Kumar, Sunil Kaushik, and Kalyanji-Anandji-Viju Shah... one should listen to Ilayaraja's original tune, on it's own... it's nothing great ! That said Ilayaraja has composed great songs, and is a great composer. I am referring only about his contribution for this particular number ! And this is my opinion, you are free to have your own !

Comparing him with Mr Eric Clapton is a comparison between apples and spinach. Except guitar nothing is common! Playing fillers between chords is not a sign of genius. Guitarists like Clapton, Joe Walsh (Eagles), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Chuck Berryand Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin are real geniuses. This guitarist is no where near even Hindi cinema's legendary guitarist Dilip Naik of Teesri Manzil ... Aaja aaja mein hu pyar tera... fame. Please listen to Hotel California and Pink Floyd's Brick in wall again to understand what is real lead guitar work.

Sir, nowhere in my reply to your comment have I degraded Indian musicians. I wrote comparing Mr Kaushik to Mr Clapton is not correct. I said Mr Kaushik is good, but not a genius. A discussion on music and musicians cannot degenerate into a war of cultural supremacy. Every culture/community has its good and bad traits. Praising foreign musicians is not denigrating Indian music or musicians. I'm not an expert, I'm just well informed on some topics. I'm a journalist and a fairly ok guitarist for the last 45 years. Age hasn't diminished the movement of my fingers on the guitar fret board. My friends include some excellent musicians who have played for Mr RD Burman and Mr Bappi Lahiri to name a few. It was nice discussing musicians' skills with you.

I have listened to this song many times and I really like it but I didn’t know who played the guitar in the original song until recently. It was Mr Sunil and I must say he is really a great player although in this video he played somewhat less well than the original but I do appreciate it as most musicians and also singers lose their touch after years of playing and singing.I have known quite a few famous artists who lack their originality after years but we must not criticise them as there could be one of many reasons of their ability to affect their performance.Personally I think Mr Sunil is an excellent guitar player👋👋
The tune composed by iliyaraja for the Tamil original but further embellished by Viju Shah under Kalyanji Anandji for its Hindi remake. @@nikiprag9184 Sunilji is original player of Neele Neele Ambar Par. Bhupiji never played this song. Bhupiji played many other Panchamda's songs such as Dum Maro Dum, Chura Liya, Kya Huva Tera Waada etc.
First know the world before commenting...this original song was released in a Tamil film composed by the greatest Illayaraja.....this film was remade in Hindi as Kalakar and the same tune was recomposed by Kalyanji Anandji....The original tamil film released on 26th Feb 1982, original; music by Illayaraja...in fact he himself played the guitar track also.....the remake hindi film released on 09th Dec 1983. Not impressive enough. If you hear clearly he screwed up in the begining by taking high notes where the intro could have been better. He looks out of practice. I see kids playing better with good practice without missing a beat and not lagging on the play.
