I have a great video from here in Buffalo! So amazing what my daughter got to see on her ninth birthday today! She was blown away and now believes in a God of creation and the power of faith because it was so cloudy and I told her to have faith because God wanted us to see the Glory of such powerful things such as that! Thank God for such an Awesome Birthday present for my babygirl!!!❤😮
Yep. That's about right. That's how emotional an experience it is. Pictures don't do it justice. The corona was so bright. The ruby prominences spectacular, multiple of them. The eerie horizon, sparkling Venus off to the lower right of the eclipse and Jupiter to the left. It was far far FAR more impactful than I expected. One of those moments where you truly understand why people believed what they did in the past.
during the few seconds of full coverage they aren't neccessary, but during partial eclipses they are essentials to protect the retina against solar damage
I wonder if people really realized statistically how low the chances of us living on a planet the fat son is the perfect miles away from the Moon and that the Moon is the exact diameter that it needs to be and distance from the Sun is a complete and utter miracle one in a billion trillion which makes us think that we were put here for a reason and that
