It's wild that Justin had all these wars BEFORE the UFC. He respects his opponents too, getting mad at the refs multiple for late stoppages. Dude has a Human Services degree too, what an interesting guy.
@@lonemaus562 This was when Justin was fairly unknown though, he was the WSOF champ but not many fans actually watched WSOF, or any other organizations other then the UFC, Bellator and ONE FC. Both Nick and Justin had a perfect record of 11-0 and Newell was moderate underdog, many people thought Newell could win this fight and many wanted him as champion for some reason, most likely since he has one arm and people find that inspiring..
@@clapdrix72 Yep and the flinching and pain response to the one counter by Gaethje towards the end of the fight was unfortunately probably involuntarily and a direct sign of brain damage. After this fight he's not been the same anymore.
It’s still unbelievable to see the level up that Justin’s made since losing to DP and Eddie. He is still the most vicious violent dude in the sport and now he is slick and faster than ever with insane footwork. Still doesn’t get the credit he deserves for making such drastic and dramatic improvements without compromising his brutal style. By far my all time favorite fighter to watch perform and I been watching since UFC 1. Great video
Many in MMA will suffer from that. Some intelligent champs like Khabib and GSP who retired on top and did not prolong their career too much will escape that.
Firmino was beating Gaethje bad until the middle of the the second round. Through pure grit Gaethje came back with bombs and blasted Firmino's head till his eye couldn't open.
Love this video. Totally red meat. You made a highlight video of a guy that calls himself "The Human Highlight Reel" And I subscribed. Thanks for this.
You know Gaethje has had some batshit brawls when his fight with Michael Johnson is only halfway through this compilation. As if saying “Yeah, that fight? That shit was mid”
I think I've seen all this before, but I keep coming back for Highlights.. He's just a mean mf in the ring. Just relentless. And knowing that he does this for you and me (and ofc himself..), while he could wrestle half of these guys easily is insane.
Watching Justin dismantle Tony was, and still is, tough to watch. I'm a big fan of both fighters and realize it's a violent and unforgiving sport, but DAMN!
I'll never forget that cracking sound coming from Tony's leg after one of Justin's leg kicks.. I think you can sort of hear it at 16:20.. IIRC I could've sworn I heard Justin apologizing to Tony mid fight at some point for essentially wrecking the guy most of the fight. Gaethje is one of my favorite fighters but I sure do miss prime Tony.
His best KO has to be between Vick & Barboza in my opinion. He flattened both of them. In my opinion the Barboza finish is his best though. To put a seasoned striker like Edson on his back foot so fast is impressive in itself. The KO was just icing on the cake.
Gaethje is on those people who has no problem of taking years of your life, if it means his hand will get raised. Just the Tony fight where you hear him grunt and see him throw full power into everything until final bell.
You’ve really got to applaud Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier in the fact that Justin hasn’t been able to eat clean shots the same since those guys put it on him. Then, you’ve really got to applaud Justin Gaethje for evolving his game to fight in a way that offers less risk with the same reward so he’s still a complete monster
Kinda crazy how the athletic commissions let Nick Newell fight with one arm but said they would not have let Bisping fight if they would have known about him losing his eye. Dude fought like 10 times with one eye and became the champ, but had to keep it a secret. Meanwhile, Shara Bullet just got his visa and can now travel to the United States, but are they going to let him fight knowing that he only has one eye?
The way Justin left Tony, he's going to do the same to Max, both stubborn and can take a lot of damage, Tony not anymore, but Max is def walking away with CTE
Is there another fighter who has looked to the ref to stop the fight more often? Is there another fighter who's opponent has thought, I have got him now, only to get knocked out? Justin Gaethje, the one and only.
It's wild that Justin had all these wars BEFORE the UFC.
He respects his opponents too, getting mad at the refs multiple for late stoppages. Dude has a Human Services degree too, what an interesting guy.
Gaethje is him
it was hilarious that the mazzagati stoppage was the one that was good
didnt know he fought a dude with one hand kinda crazy
I've always appreciated how he looks for the referee to stop the fight when the other fighter is clearly done
5:40 except this time
he really hates a late stoppage
I noticed that too. I saw the Cerrone one live but this seems like a common occurrence for him.
@jasonmanh8334- are you serious? I expect to see something malicious when I read something like this… 5:40 didn’t show anything malicious… so stfu
@@jasonmanh8334 i mean the dude tapped out standing. I'm sure it was just awkward timing.
That finish over Tony was even more impressive, considering how much sand was probably in his eyes
Ouch.
It was delayed reaction sand man sand. he took a nap tonight.
Lol😂😊
I fu choked on my food bro damn that was funny
Give em the sandd
I couldn't imagine fighting Mr.Gaethje with one arm..that takes huge stones.
To fight anybody with one arm is dumb
@@TSeries502 he has a good record, so it's not dumb
@@TSeries502 Doesn't matter how many arms you have if you love fighting
@@Psyshimmer Nobody loves fighting lol, maybe the best in the world likes doing it for money. As soon as you get beat bad you;ll never do it again

That Newell guy is a professional fighter with only 1 and a half arms? Damn
And the way Gaethje celebrates after K'Oing him is so hilarious 😂
Jake Peacock is another one. Probably one of the best Muay Thai fighters right now.
I was like wtf they put him up against Justin . Guys got some balls I’ll give him that

@@joefaller9664 nice thanks for the info I don't know much about Justin's early career I guess
Man the tony fight is a tough watch for me. Gaethje is just so violent.
It really is, i still remember watching in my old place in silence. The 2nd of the second round still haunts me to what could have been.
There's no way the 3 KOs they ranked ahead of that one are more violent. The Tony fight was easily the most brutal MMA fight I've ever seen.
@@clapdrix72you should watch robbie vs rory 2

Thank you for including Tony giving him some sand :')
The Highlight has never had a boring fight ever
Justin Gaethge , the most display of violence and compassion I have ever seen
That shit was so violent it was beautiful and hard to watch at the same time
I think we can all agree what that main event truly is this Saturday.
Yeah, Charles vs Arman

@marcJoel do you not know what card is on Saturday?
Nah, I’m more interested in poatan vs hill. This one is gonna be a heck of a fight tho

Gaethje looked absolutely fed up that he couldn’t put Fermino away at 2:18.

13:38 went off like a mousetrap. or a mine.
insanely cool fighter.
will be legendary.
Okay, I think we need to pass a law that Gaethje and Palomino should never be allowed in the same arena again. That level of violence is just inhuman!
That guy with one hand would have probably been a unit if he had both. Dude had dis ability to throw hand.
new mythical referee unlucked: keith 'no hair' peterson
Justin isn't normal.
Magnifique combattant !! Quel plaisir de le voir évoluer...
Bravo Justin!!
La classe 🤘🤘🤘🤘✌️👌👌👌👍
The only thing missing is a sword and shield exceptional fight by both gladiators bruv. Great video!
That Pourier knock out is so satisfying.
The James vick ko always reminds me of a drunk trying to do a cartwheel for his buddies at 2am.

He is a beast👑
what a great edit! dudes a goddamn warrior. also, fun fact, went to school to be a social worker
Jeez the Newell fight was like watching Justin beat up a one armed man... wait a minute.
He is an absolute monster. What a crazy exciting and talented fighter!
I’d love to see the full version of that first fight it looks like it was a good one
All those severe punches are starting to add up. I only hope he does not hang on too long Max really cracked him last night
14:40 god I remember that fight at the empty Apex. You could hear the thud of every hit. Best sounding fight of all time
It wasn't at the APEX. It was at an empty arena in Jacksonville. That's what made it sound so much better.

That one was great man. That dude would have been a problem with two hands.
herb giving dustin the sliding peoples elbow was pretty funny tho
6:15 That’s what happens when you don’t think blocking low kicks is necessary…
Cant argue with that....

Justin cracked the philly shell in that last clip.
Violence is his demeanor but he shows compassion towards his opponents…most of em💪🏾😂
Alcohol and fight blackouts work similarly. Keep taking shots in the stand up game and that blackout button gets hit easier and easier.
Built different
Here’s a fun game. Watch the clips from gaethje vs Ferguson and take a shot every time Joe Rogan says “oh my goodness”.
Who thought it was a good idea too match A two handed Gaethje vs A One handed fighter
I wonder if Justin Gaethje started his MMA career with UFC then how much bigger of a superstar he would be.
That Ferguson match was hard to watch.
Trevor has done an amazing job with Gaethje. He’s always had power but he didn’t really have the snap in his punches like he does now
Gaethje fighting a dude with one hand is hilarious to me. LMAO
He’s unorthodox like Fergeson, and dangerous like Leben when dazed.
Things Justin are allergic to:
1. Wrestling
2. Coherent speech
3. Boring fights
It’s not over till it’s over
19:44 that guy doing MMA with one arm??
Hard to believe hes now on this reel...
My favorite one is him making Michael Johnson crumble! 1️⃣
Firmino was taking absolute bombs, crazy.
Watching him humble the loudmouth Michael Johnson was/is one of the most satisfying UFC moments.
That Tony fight hurts to this day.
Even when he used to wrestle it was always power slams with the intent on knocking them out
He is my favorite fighter for sure
Gaethje is on those people who has no problem of taking years of your life, if it means his hand will get raised. Just the Tony fight where you hear him grunt and see him throw full power into everything until final bell.

Justin reminds me of the Arcadians in 300. Not the prettiest fighter but you still want him onboard for his love of carnage.

Gaethje Taking peoples leg for a trophy since day 1

Justin "The career highlights" Gaethje
Gaethje is one of those guys that would have been legendary gladiators back in the days also. One of the most violent careers ever. lol
Damn, they even put him in there with a one arm man....hahah, Savages!
This dude is a monster.
That guy with one arm has HUGE BALLS.
Think Gaethje conditions his shins on the corners of brick buildings
His fight against Firmino is what made me a fan. Justin is just a dog and he’s ruthless in the cage!
Imagine Gaethje vs Ferguson in a full crowded arena
I skipped the Tony part😢
The way Justin left Tony, he's going to do the same to Max, both stubborn and can take a lot of damage, Tony not anymore, but Max is def walking away with CTE
I've never seen another fighter beg the referee to stop the fight more than Justin
After Ferguson, I thought he was primed to beat Khabib. Oh how I was wrong
Justin relied too much on his strikes and kicks, ignored his wrestling background which is impressive. I think he learned a lot since then.
Is there another fighter who has looked to the ref to stop the fight more often?
Is there another fighter who's opponent has thought, I have got him now, only to get knocked out?
Justin Gaethje, the one and only.
You gotta be extra though to fight this dude. God damn
Letting Newell fight Gaethje was devious work 😭
