I hear a loud pop in my speakers when i fire up the boat. Only way to not hear it is by turning off head unit before i turn the key and thats annoying. I have dual (bridged) battery set up. Is it the ground issue or the way batteries are set up causing current loop when starting up ?

I'm putting my two amps in the cubby hole passenger side and have a fosgate p2 under steering wheel and 4 speakers inside the boat at 2 tower speakers. Just because of length you think 12 awg to the sub and 14awg to rest of speakers?
I installed a stereo in my boat. it has a outboard mercury 50hp. and I have motor noise in the stero and the vhf radio? sounds like spark plug noise not a wine, any ideas how to stop the noise? is a boat motor like a car/truck as far as can I add snap choaks to the plug wires? ive done this to automobiles and it stopped it. but I have no idea about boat motors. any ideas?
Boats are always an adventure that's for sure. We've done some pretty complex ones at our shop

I've got the same boat did you put the 8"s in a box in the back? cause mine is open and I wouldn't think it would hit as hard

Milwaukee makes an awesome cordless cut out tool called the cut out tool that would make your life easier or a roto zip works well for corded!

Sharpie ink doesn't come out of gel coat. A red wax pencil is a much better solution
