The columns look great. And again, learned something important. We’re going to be building in the next few years and don’t want to spend our twilight years crawling around on ladders doing maintenance. The aluminum and vinyl used makes good sense!

i dont think you want a flex hose for your range hood.
its impossible to clean with a brush kit or pressure washer
and if there is a grease fire its not contained in metal.
(btw thats a long run pushing the 20' rule with 2 bends)

Would have to go back and look but think it was metal flex tubing.
@@ArnieD17 but still flexible. Over that distance, air will cool and moisture will get trapped and stay within the hose.

How do you cut around small areas? Like electric box-you had two boxes but didn’t show how you cut. Or places where big circular saw can’t cut. Also end pieces that need cut lengthwise, all ceilings don’t come out exactly to size.
Oscillating saw
As seen in Colorado, that vinyl burns really well.
Almost everything burns really well at 1500-2000 Fahrenheit
@@Guildbrookfarm That's the temperature of a house already on fire. What the exterior should prevent is the structure from catching fire. Using non vented soffits made from steel, aluminum or fiber cement would help greatly in the preventing fire.
That’s the temperature of the wildfire when it engulfs the house. Doesn’t matter what it’s made of.
@@Guildbrookfarm Well, that vinyl will make it much easier. I'm guessing that they vinyl catching fire is what engulfs the house.
No one barbecues under a covered roof like that unless they have no common sense. Whatever.
So my aluminum soffit and fascia flashing is moving and coming off. I'm guessing there's probably rot underneath
Roof and attic is dry and cozy inspector said. Once I pull it off to fix everything, it's okay to just put what I have back up as long as it came off well, right?
If it’s aluminum and in good shape I would try to reuse it if you are just replacing rotted wood underneath but more importantly find out what’s causing the rotted wood and fix that first.

I have 16 inch on center rafters, and I want to avoid using strapping, which I think I could get away with given your advice on a previous message. Who distributes the vinyl material you used for that ceiling? It looks so nice!

I see nobody asking about is how is water draining - maybe im missing something? Where did you install the gutters for rain water ?
I wonder if that's only when there is an open deck on top.
I have a 51' run that is only 5"wide. Would cutting the 12"wide piece to fit mess with the integrity of the install?

Yes J-Channel around the entire perimeter.
