- My experience at the Palazzetto Pisani Grand Canal was probably the WORST hotel experience I've had in many years of travelling. And again, the front desk person was the only one who is saved and the bellman from this hotel. Other than that, the person at the restaurant, a guy, completely ruined my hotel experience! So here is my story...

happened to me in Egypt. Is a strategy from front desk to get tips. They want money from you and then they get the rooms that you actually booked.
something similar happened to me in Manarolo (Cinque Terre). We booked a room with a balcony. They gave us an incredibly small room without a balcony. We also had a discussion that took a few minutes. At the end we got an apartment with a wonderful balcony, because they messed up the bookings. You do have to push back if you don't get what you paid for... it is annoying. I loved every vacation I spent in Italy though
Venice is far from a nice place to stay in Italy. Over rated by a lot. We stayed in Ca' Bonfadini for a couple nights, it was actually pretty nice. Overall not a city I would ever return to. Verona and Rome are far nicer spots.
I would have moved to another Hotel IMMEDIATELY. Know you paid already but I would have filed for a refund.
