OH my goodness, it was SO cold and WET here today. When I took my walk this afternoon, I really bundled up, but it still felt good and I had plenty of energy. Yes, the winter solstice is a special time. This might sound silly, but this morning, my husband and I drove to our Azure Standard drop in Aurora, Indiana. One thing that I bought is a 5# bag of organic flax seeds. When we got home and brought everything in, and I picked that up, I actually hugged it and smiled. This is a cozy time of year for me. Hard to explain. We had somewhat of a tough year due to non-life threatening health challenges. We're much better now and moving ahead. I hope 2025 is much better. I hope you have a very happy and grateful year, Kath. I appreciate your take on this time of year.
@@loves2spin2 Hello Yolanda, I love how you hugged the big bag of flax seeds, I truly get it. It is a cozy time of year and I embrace it more as I get older. Health is truly wealth so I’m sending continued healing energy your way. Have a best day and stay warm.🕯️💫✨🌲☕️
We are all works in progress learning and growing every day. Life for me is all about balance, the good and the bad don't last, I just make the best of what I have to work with. I will learn and grow forward in the new year, while continuing my blog and making more journals. Wishing you all the best that life has to offer you Kath for your year ahead! ❤
Hi Kathy, what a beautiful message about the Winter Solstice. Thank you for braving the cold and creating this lovely video for us. I'm in a 9 numerology year which all about endings, letting go and completions this year. Next year begins a whole new 10 year cycle. I'll be in a #1 year which is all about new beginnings. The past 11 years have been nothing short of wild ride in the wilderness for me. Time to let go and bury what no longer serves me in the compost so new dreams and goals can grow as you said. I love this. In 2025... I want to commit to start a writing practice, create something anything daily, creating art, yarn work - knit or crochet, photography, genealogy and writing family stories, perhaps travel somewhere to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and continue to improve the areas of relationships, my health and incorporating more movement for my body. Happy Winter Solstice dear friend. xx
@@mrssmcrae Hello sweet Suzanne, I love your thoughtful and introspective comments. Didn’t we meet in a blogging group about 12 years ago? I can relate to you saying these past years have been a wild ride. The cycle is coming to a close, I can feel it. You are so creative and we need you to express yourself in the ways you mentioned. Cheers to a healthy, joyful and prosperous 2025. Your presence here is so appreciated.🕯️🌲💫✨☕️
Yup, so done with the turning upside down and inside out the past few years. Going forward, I'm looking to dig down deep and pull the qualities in me back out. I've literally been told I'm too kind and need to change. I've actually seen or heard people close to me ridicule others for being too happy or bubbly! I have removed at least three of them from my interactions. These are all qualities we need in humans especially right now. Qualities are the good things that don't need changing! I want to think I've just lost my path. I'm circling back a little bit (about 30 years) to find those crumbs (happy, organized, outgoing, hopeful) I dropped along the way. Stay strong friends! Even though we walk our own paths, we are all together in the same woods. ❤
@@brendaS1533 those words of yours really resonate with me. I found back to me this year when I went to Australia to visit my host family from when I was a teenager. Sending you all my love and strength and I know you’re going to be even better and stronger in 2025! ✨❤️✨

Hi Kath 😊Lovely walk-enjoyed your story and this video. In Malaysia, the winter solstice is celebrated with the Dong Zhi festival, especially by the Chinese community. A key dish is Tang Yuan, sweet glutinous rice balls filled with sesame or peanut paste, served in a ginger broth. The round shape symbolizes unity and togetherness, and the dish is believed to bring good luck and harmony for the year ahead. It’s a time for family gatherings and blessings. Wishing you a very blessed year end ❤ I’m using the last few days to go into deep self reflection and have been journaling a lot.
