Even KBS delivered the lip-sync news though Wonyoung is their official Music Bank MC 🥲 What's going on?
Ok got it, they did bad by lip syncing. But you'll are over reacting as if wonyoung did crime or something. Kbs putting the news in front page as if its scandal while she is their Mc. There are groups who lip sync at paid concerts, who have maybe sang live 2 or 3times in whole career, a company that totally is lip syncing, but that doesnt become SCANDAL coz WONYOUNG isnt there. She is the punching bag of KPOPIES, she breathes it become scandal. Admit jealous haters, that girl in her 18yrs have achieved more than you all in whole life

You are right. Another thing, of course we won't forget the history but K-netizens forget that Le Sserafim is performing in Japan. What do they expect? They are one (1) of the guests. Of course, they can't do something or they can't complain about the stage because they were invited to perform. About Le Sserafim lipsynching, I think Sakura and Kazuha might be the ones who requested to have them lipsynching. Because they are in Japan, of course it is their home country. Maybe they are afraid or shy because they are not yet confident in their voices. But I know they can do it.😊

lesserafim were singing it live. It wasn’t noticeable in the actual video since SBS were playing the backtrack louder than their vocals in the video.
however multiple fancams have proved that they were indeed singing live.
chaewon forgot to sing her part, and the backtrack carried it up until you could slightly hear her live vocals(at least i did) and it’s true that she wasn’t lipsyncing
(the video isn’t mentioned here, but people have been criticizing them for that particular performance)

IVE is actually one of the few k-pop groups that always sing 98% live, i don't even know why y"all are acting as if they've been lip syncing since their debut, first of all both Wonyoung and Lesseo don't really have the natural range to sing this song unless if they make an effort i believe that's why they chose to lip sync the performance, they were probably not on their best vocal moment or simply didn't want to force their vocal chords, there could have been any reason on why they did it cause IVE most of the times sings live and you can see that Wonyoung and Lesseo both struggle a lot with breath control and are not the most stable, its honestly better to lip sync instead of giving a bad vocal performance, if they are perfectionists this even more understandable, y"all really need to start the purpose of lip sync in the music industry and how for most artists is a neccessary tool, and how almost the whole music industry lip syncs not just the K-pop one, for artists they believe and know that this doesn't make them less of an artist.

If people try and call the criticism of Wonyoung and Leeseo hate, I will actually lose it. There is NO excuse whatsoever for not being able to sing while sitting down, when your job is LITERALLY being a singer. At this point we'll end up with more talentless idols like Wonyoung who are a pretty face and nothing more. Face it, when's the last time you saw Wonyoung get praised for her singing and dancing? The only compliments I've EVER seen of Wonyoung are about her visual and her "expensive vibes"(?? wtf does that even mean??). And fyi I'm using Wonyoung as an example because she's supposed to be this revolutionary popular icon or whatever, When in reality the only remarkable thing about her is her face.

In my opinion, if the lights are intentionally arranged to form a rising sun, it’s shouldn’t be the girls’ fault should it? they’re not the ones who decide the stage’s decorations. but I think it’s just a coincidence.

agree, twice also receiving a lot of love there, since its quite interesting most pf the time they're performing in japan they always do live, also bcz of they hate lypsinc mosy of the japanese idol is actually pretty stable, even the voice actor or seiyuu (in japan seiyuu had many role they kinda become like idol in korea since they not only voice acting in anime or do dubbing they got some modelling offer and brand deal offer, some of them also played in drama as an actor/actress, they also had a capability to sing), i've to admit that they didnt had the best vocal, only several of them had a great vocal such as aimer, LiSA (not lisa BP and she already debut first before bp), ikuta lilas, etc, but their vocal is pretty stable

Starship cannot let Wonyoung go solo, because she is not talented nor dedicated enough to be a soloist. She can't even bother doing a good job of lip-syncing. She seems to care about her pretty face way too much to "ruin" it with realistic facial expressions when singing high notes. If she became a soloist, it would result in a lot of awkward moments of her not moving a single facial muscle when belting high notes. Hence why she has to be in a group and be the "center" who lets others do the hard work while she can just smile and sing/dance prettily with her pretty face and pretty hair.

I don't even underatand why visual is considered a position by the others then earned more popularity by it. It seems like an insult for those who work and has natural talent for singing/dancing.
Not everyone in the kpop industry has really passion for music and just really after the silver lining of fame. It's about the image, it about the issue and the gimmicks. Wonyoung is the perfect example of by the book manufactured by her company. Starship was earning money for this. No matter how shameless the issue is, they will pursue it.
She's been in the industry since she was young and you can tell it affects her badly. She obviosuly cares a lot about her appearance and never wants to look unattractive because she has been in the spotlight so long and from a young age.
Let them sing live and it's for all idols because even if they are not good they will try to be good next time because of criticism

the problem is ive just won a Daesang, the lip syncing wasn't only poorly done but it's the exact same audio they've already gave us months back. Wonyoung already poorly lip sync'd through her cover of Love during the kbs song festival & i did turn a blind eye but now it just seems either laziness or truly she is being worked too hard she can not properly prepare for what should* be her main priority her job as a singer.
At Kohaku they danced so lazily, I (am not a dancer) would have fit right in with them as a 7th member. it was sad. 2 members have been idols for years. Starship has really turned me off of ive.
Le sserafim members (like majority of all idols) have nothing to do with the lighting design for the performance, so I don't see why they should be blamed for it
While I personally overall don't mind lip syncing on occasion depending on circumstances, it's looked down upon in Japan so idk why either company let the groups do so & i agree it gives k idols a bad look

No hate but Wonyoung can't stand alone being a solo artist even though she's famous co'z as you can see she don't possess all the talent to be called all rounder, as I see in their group Yujin have the capability to be a soloist, she's all rounder and suited to be a solo artist in near future. Nope, K-pop has indeed become less about vocals but majority of 4th gen groups are still talented in other areas such as being able to rap, dance, and have good stage presence if not sing. K-pop right now is about difficult choreography, extravagant performances and stage presence more than it is about visuals. Doing these difficult choreographies is still A LOT of hard work and very tiring and draining physically. K-pop idols should be able to sing well and sing live before anything else but just because they aren’t doesn’t mean they don’t put in hard work in other ways such as the hard choreography, rapping, practicing, and their busy schedules with promoting, variety shows and interviews.
Not to mention in this generation many idols are becoming more involved in the creation of their music such as Stray Kids, {G}-IDLE, New Jeans, TXT, Treasure, Xdinary Heroes, etc. Creating music takes A LOT of hard work. Some of y’all need to stop acting like Idols are completely lazy when a lot of y’all wouldn’t survive 1 day in a idols shoes. Criticism about them not singing is valid but claiming they don’t put in hard work is blasphemy.

Not really. While the importance of vocals has certainly lessened in recent years it doesn't mean that its all about visuals. If looks are the only thing that matters anyone could become an idol with enough plastic surgery. K-pop is more about rapping and difficult choreography. Learning to do choreography is hard work. Besides more and more idols are getting involved in the production of their music. While its fair to find the lack of vocals disappointing its wrong to call idols lazy.
The "rising flag" accusation against LSF is actually very stupid XD It's not in their control. That's actually the lighting setup of the stage. It's not exactly like in Korean shows where they can decorate the whole stage as they perform their songs and other artists will wait, nope. Remember, the group are only guest contestants/performers in Kouhaku. Sometimes, people forget to use their common sense just so they can hate on someone.

1. Ok about Ive this is getting out of hand. Idc if they lip-sync one time but this often? And especially while sitting this is too much. You can even see Wonyoung not giving a sh*t to do the high note right like open the mouth wide to let ppl think it's that easy to hit a high note. I also think it was not ideal to let the weakest vocals do that. Ive needs to catch up or they won't be in the Top Gen4 groups.
2. About Le sserafim I let them go this time. Really ridiculous with the lights tho like it's light so what will you change about that? And I never really saw Le sserafim lip-sync so I'll let them slide.

I'm for banning lip sync lol. Audiences have rights to get real live vocals. Backtrack is acceptable since idols dance pretty hard, but it should be kept minimum, not covering their voices. Autotune is acceptable for me, again bcs idols dance hard, it's almost impossible to keep their breath stable during a whole song.
But, idols' main job is still singer after all, so they should sing live n focus more on singing. If they wanna focus on just dancing, then there's another career path known as professional dancers. If they wanna focus on posing/becoming an icon, there are other paths such as models n influencers.

Actually, I think the girls can choose whether they want to lip sync or not. In cases where there is backtrack (most stages), they can choose the volume of their mic so that their voice is louder or softer than the backtrack.

I think they didn't perform live with backtrack as usually because fearless is too low so it's hard to sing it while dancing and Le sserafim were very busy lately so they couldn't prepare enough for live performance

I really don't mind the lip syncing. Yes it's disappointing because we rarely get to hear them live but we don't know if they had busy schedules, sore throats, other health conditions and what not. All other idols do lip syncing. Not an issue BUT!!! the very least the girls could have done is to make this a good performance. Good does not equal looking like a lifeless doll, pouting the lips and constantly rearranging the hair. They didn't put any true effort into this. All they had to do is sit there and act like they are singing. Well they failed at their one job!👎

To be honest I’ve always not been very mindful of lip syncing from idols as long as they actually go and pre record themselves singing live for it. Ive however screwed up by simply recycling a prerecorded studio version of the song and that for me just doesn’t seem right.
Singing live is very important, but i can close my eyes if the artist is dancing. Because i know that everyone wants a perfect image. But while sitting down... it's just sad. No hate towards the girls, cause it's obvious that they have no choice. About expressions 🥲 I find it kind of cringe most of the times, but still i understand that they do what the company says they have to do. I just hope that their approach will change, cause IVE will not survive as a group, if they continue like that...
About the le sserafim situation... i don't think i have a say in this, because i am not korean. I can understand them very well as ukrainian. I genuinely can't figure out the reason why they decided to go with Wonyoung and Leeseo. While they probably went for Wonyoung because of her popularity, they could have easily switched Leeseo for Yujin since she's the second most popular member. Leeseo is still too young and inexperienced and while its unfair to Liz the backlash she received from Korea and abroad is preventing her from getting major solo roles.

I have watched the controversial “Le Sserafim Sour Grape” video and fancam. Chaewon starts late at 1.03. There are two layers. One is backtrack and the other one prerecord or live one. You can watch mr removed version of the original video. Chaewon must be starting late there if it is live but she sings right on time. That means it is prerecorded. (Backtrack+prerecord)
