Colin, to finish the side wall as you were trying to do, you should take a high resolution photograph of the dirt/rock wall. When the project is complete, you can print the photograph in large format, and make a custom metal box frame with LED lights along the inside track and weld it to the wall. This will give the impression of the backlit window idea you had, but much simpler and you don't have to worry about the condensation issue! 😀

Already at 0:07 I was reminded that so far the weather has been decent although winter is approaching fast, and so far I’ve spent a month since materials for a PVC roofed canopy extending from our house arrived, and I’ve made absolutely zero progress.
I overthink it and procrastinate while feeling bad about why I don’t just start and get it done, and regret that I haven’t done it already, and the framing needs to be painted white but it’s too cold and I then I just circle around not getting it done.
I so envy your consistent energy and productivity, determination and drive. How you’re able to accomplish so much and on top of that shooting and editing the footage. And top of that having a family. Blows my mind, even if it also serves as a source of income. The motivation and self-dicipline is still inspiring.

Reminds me years ago when I built a huge extension unto our bungalow with a walk out into the back yard. It was a huge job, of two floors that ran into the fall and snow was beginning to fall in Canada. We ran into issues where we had to wait for permits to be approved and it caused the project to go later than we anticipated and it was extremely stressful at the time. I just got married I had three kids and my new wife had three kids we were the brady bunch and it was a lot on our plates for newly weds but we did it, and today we have a beautiful home that is fully completed, and we will not sell, until we are beyond our retirements that's for sure.

It does make me wonder what big projects if anymore will happen in the future. I think of the biggest and coolest things of this project is its not like a one off video where u mite see the trike in the background or something. This is a project we will fet too see in a tone of future videos as the back ground. Just like the old and trusted work shop. I can see collin expanding the tunnel system more. @@davidanalyst671 oldest video isn't even 4 years old. You have to consider the much harder and different challenges that this project has compared to the bunker. He dug the hole for the bunker, constructed it and pumped in the cement and then covered it up. For this one he had to be much more precise, dig around utilities, under his own house's foundation. All of this while fighting with the usually shit British weather. Maybe the garage part could've been done faster if he took the bunker's approach. Dig the trench, pour the slab of cement, build the walls and then fill it back up with more cement. But with such a big pour it's difficult for someone who hasn't really much experience in the building sector to be sure that it's all poured correctly and that it can infact hold firmly the front facade of the house. There are so many more things to keep in mind and it's understandable that he went with a calm and well calculated approach instead of just rushing it. If the garden sinks a bit you can just put more dirt on top but if the floor of the house caves in it's much more difficult to repair and infinitely more dangerous for him and his family. Plus, you're just watching it from your phone or pc or whatever device you're watching this on and you're sitting comfortably while he's covered with dirt and just working on it little by little. If you're in such a hurry you know... Just pick a shovel up and go help him🙄🤷🏻‍♂️
