Get that red appealed. Poor refereeing...
IFAB states:
"Unless there is a clear goal-scoring opportunity for the non-offending team, the referee should not play advantage following red-card offences, particularly:
serious foul play"
There wasn't a clearing goal scoring opportunity, the ref played advantage because it was a yellow.
If a red, he should give foul immediately, and issue the red.

I'd come here to say the same thing, I was sure ref had to blow straight away for a red, glad you've found the rule to back it up.

The Ref could of played advantage giving the Red at next break in play. If the soon to be sent off player gets involved in the attack then the ref would have to stop the game, give the Red, then restart with an indirect freekick.
In the Crawley half with too much to do for the attacking player it made no sense to play advantage, He should of blown straight away. I reckon the Ref planned on a Yellow but the Linesman insisted on it being Red and the Ref changed his mind.
What the Ref can not do is play advantage, let the attacking team waste their chance putting the ball out for a goal kick, then pull the game back for a freekick and the Red.
He gave Crawley two chances, the advantage then the freekick, they wasted both, and topped it with the bonus of a Red. Very poor Ref.

Mr Rock the Ref made a few strange decisions in favour of Crawley. Another significant one was the Crawley player going down with a 'head injury' (same player who went down for the red and dived on the halfway line with no one near him but got nothing that time), the Ref allowed the game to continue with the ball being in the control of both teams.
Crawley lose the ball forward with a Rover about to collect ball, and the Ref stops the game for the head injury. The Crawley player does not need treatment, does not leave the field, Ref restarts game drop ball for Crawley.
When the other things are factored in such as the late studs showing tackle on Rowe that was more dangerous and with more force than the Anderson Red. Which he ignored.
Then Mr Rock had an awful game as Official.

Making an error as to playing advantage or not does negate the fact a sending off offence occurred. Late, high, scissoring.
Bet it would have been even worse at ground level.
