I like that you trouble shoot on camera.Everyone gets to see how it can be fixed. It teaches time, patience and new skills with these machines! Thank you!
Thank you Jamie, I love watching your videos. I have a quirky old USA Auto Knitter which used to drive me crazy. But you know what after watching your vids I have learned to love it and be patient and persevere. This 1922 machine made in Brooklyn during the depression is still cranking out socks across the pond in London UK, almost a hundred years later thanks to you and your helpful tutorials. How cool is that?
Thank you so much for this session. I have inherited a vintage Creelman MoneyMaker which I’m just learning to use. It sticks sometimes just as happened with your machine. Can’t wait to try your solution!
"that noise"...reminds me of one i hear when i use my 'repaired' gear ring on my LeGare 47. it was welded and there is a wee "bump" on that repair as i crank around. the repair did not hold[sent off to our CSM repairer] and split t the joint. i have some low temp solder i will try and see if it works. i do have a non Le Gare ring that works ok.
Thank you! Thank you ! This really really helps with my new ultimate knitter from new zealand all the problems you had are what I’m learning to handle ,again I can’t thank you enough .will watch this a few times to get a handle on it.
Was the cylinder able to be cleaned and re-oiled? Also, do most machine have the same size diameter cylinders that you can interchange? As you can see, I am new. Thx for your fabulous videos
Why do you put the heel forks from outside in? Would it work just as well if you put them inside? It was good to see you work with the old machine, find the quirks and work them out . Good video Jamie .
I'm thinking of buying a machine, but what do people do with the mountains of socks these things can produce? I know that mittens and hats can be made with these too, but there's a limit to what my friends, family, and I can wear. I'm a hand knitter, and my main reason for wanting one of these is to free myself up for other projects besides just socks, but it's a hefty price tag.
It’s an investment. If you make a mountain of socks, donate. The homeless would love to have a pair of hand knit warm songs during the cold weather. They can use a pair of mittens too. Hospitals, etc... you’ll see opportunities present themselves.

Perfect video to explain what was happening with my “new” Auto Knitter. Thank you! Love your videos.

Wow! Wish someone would give me a bunch of parts😂! Thanks for the video.
Do you know of a parts breakdown of these machines
It's the little flippers my machine won't get unstuck then the flippers try to flip over in the cam shell
Where do you get the spools of yarn/thread?
Thank you for your video. I have a 12G 60 4.5” drum that will not turn. Any advice? I’ve taken it all apart. It’s hard to pull out of base.
The cylinder does not turn. The cam shell does. One or the other could be out of round.
Forgot to sign in sadly! But I am catching up this morning
