I just picked up my 12 yr old son his first project, an 85 2wd Toyota pickup and a 3/4 ton suburban for the axles. Perfect timing for a little motivation, will definitely be following along.
Yeah I ran rufs and ford 58s for years on my personal rig. Won't go back now for the dedicated crawler but simple and works well. Thanks! Been building rigs for a while and figured might as well start filming things see how it goes
Thanks for the incredibly prompt reply! 🤯 love your content. I’m building an 83 but battling with what to do. I haven’t wanted to go the tons rout as I don’t want a shitbox…I’m an old man. Bought an 83 off the showroom floor when I was 18. Sold it to help buy our first house and of course regretted it ever since. I’ve been planning on more of a sleeper on 35’s with dual geared cases. Either way I’d like to build a buggy with Toyota parts so I’ve been looking for donor candidates. What that axel go for down in your area?
Thanks! If your planning to run 35s toyota axles will hold up just fine. The dual cases will help with control off road. Chevy 60s are getting harder to find these days so price can vary a lot anywhere from 800-2500 if your patient enough to wait on deals.
