    As others have said below, 10k is for the smaller cup and 20k is for the larger one. Next time you're in Vietnam look for the sugarcane mixed with passion fruit. There's also another combo that a local introduced another Western vlogger to that sounded AMAZING, but I forget what was in it...I think it was sugarcane, orange juice or pineapple juice, and some other exotic fruit.

    I stayed on Phu Quoc for a month in Feb 2020, just before the Pandemic. I actually stayed in the area south of the airport that is almost completely empty - I was the only one staying in my hotel! It was super cheap at $20 a night and it was a 4 star room - just totally empty hotel!! WEIRD!! I am going back to Phu Quoc in a couple of months and in the area you were I actually found an AirBnb that was listed at $200 for the whole month (most of the units are indeed EMPTY). Vietnam overbuilt, just like China did. In Phu Quoc's case, they built for a wave of tourists who didn't materialize, in large part due to COVID. It means there are bargains aplenty now in Vietnam. Oh and as for Starfish Beach - when I went in February 2020 the beach was full of starfish and the water was also much clearer than in your video. Maybe there is a season for the starfish - not sure.

      Not everyone wants an island resort to be built like Singapore. Westerners aren't gonna go there for that, they go for peace, quiet, nature. They also don't want to see modern cities or Westernization of culture as they have that at home - they want to see culture, tradition, etc.. Vietnam needs to rethink their tourism industry.

One thing though, when I went to starfish beach, my Tour guide brought us on a speed boat to another beach which had a TON of starfish. We are having a problem with the Sun Group corporation. They built too many European architectures all over Vietnam, all of which are beautiful but make Vietnam lose its identity. The Asian architecture of Vietnam is very beautiful. The Forbidden City, China was built by the Vietnamese with the curved roof architecture of the Vietnamese, the chief engineer Nguyen An (of course the press and the Chinese will find ways to reduce it. We are also rebuilding the citadel. Thang Long, scheduled for completion in 2028. You will find it is a version of the Forbidden City but more original. We don't hate Phu Quoc and Sun Group. The house also sold out in 2 weeks but did not dare to invest because it was too Westernized, so Vietnamese customers were less and less. The Vietnamese part is very sketchy and simple, unlike the time when Vietnam was the richest. It is like a strong blow to the self-esteem of Vietnamese people. Western guests also don't like it because they'd rather go abroad than Venice or something like that. Wake up Sun Group, Bana Hills, Ha Long, Phu Quoc , Nha Trang are too enough.

      @doodahgurlie ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the same comment I made in videos of all these faux European cities that sprang up like weeds all over the country. Those European cities are all tacky and gaudy looking and there's way too many of them. I personally loved how the abandon water park looked in Hue with the dragon, which is what I think Viets should be using as a model to build instead of all those ugly European cities. Other Viets told me they built those cities for locals and nearby Asian countries whom can't afford Europe or don't want to go to Europe but want to see what Europe is like. Fine. Build 2-3 at most, but it looks like they're building them in every damn city. What a shame. Westerners come to see Vietnam, not fake Europe, which is why many love the Old Quarter in Hanoi. They want to see the culture and tradition of a country that's different than theirs.

    • @damiann4734
      @damiann4734 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Vietnamese government don't spend to preserve, or renovate those historical sites. It's left to private companies where money is from creating musement parks for the Vietnamese ppl. Vietnamese will not spend to go to something they already have.

    • @Frankd22003
      @Frankd22003 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I've been talking about. Why the hell the Sun Group/Corporation keeps on squirting European crappy structures in Vietnam? Vietnam is now like an illegal copy of anything European, all thanks to this peculiar behavior of this developer. Vietnam look more like a French's colony than ever. If the country's authorities don't stop this trend of building sooner Vietnamese will have a confusion of what country they're living. What a mess!

    Thanks for sharing my beautiful country to the world. the quality of your channel is wonderful.
    As a Vietnamese myself do hate that fake-copycat Venice town. It's just not matching with the nature and the culture of the island and the local people there. The leaders of this island literally sold their soul for money. I understand that they want to make the island look fancy, cool and modern but this is a terrible choice since the Phu Quoc island itself is already a beautiful destination (could be as nice as Bali) without any concrete. So many green natural area had been destroyed to build that ridiculous empty buildings. I hope no tourists will stop by that shitty place, let it die soon so the island would start to wake up and take some corrective actions to save the unique beauty of the island!
    P/s: If you're looking for a truly beautiful and nature-reserved island in VN, then I highly recommend you to visit Con Dao island of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. It's a small island but still untouched too much by human hand.

    I was there alone in December 2022 when I travelled through Vietnam. The island itself is great. The cable car ride is great and there is a water park at the other end that is also really great. What I absolutely cannot recommend are the beaches. Take a closer look at the Google reviews. It was a rubbish dump. I don't understand why TH-camrs don't film the opposite side. The beach is really dirty. People touch the starfish, take them out of the water, leave them on the beach and don't know that these beautiful animals are dying. It is a disaster. The drive to Starfish Beach alone is very dangerous if you are on a scooter.

    Could you please give some advice on what's the best way to get to Grand World and the rough cost if you could remember? I'm planning to drop most of my heavy luggage at the mainland Phu Quoc hotel, before taking the cable car to Hon Thom Island and stay over somewhere near Grand World. So after I get off the cable car, should I then take the cab straight to Grand World, or is there another easier way?

    Sorry for my ignorance, but I've never been to Asia and all of my friends tell me to avoid drinks with ice when in there, is it something to be careful about or no need anymore? Thanks

    • @FloraandNote

      If you’re unsure, better to avoid ice. You can still find chilled bottled or can drinks. We’ve lived in SE Asia for years now and have gotten used to consuming ice and don’t have any issues.

    Vietnam should think about creating something to give tourists a view of Asia thru Vietnamese traditional architecture rather than copying Europe architecture. It comes out looking cheap and gaudy. If you copy, you need to make it exact by matching the true colors.

    • @doodahgurlie
      @doodahgurlie ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is what I was saying all last year...why keep building cheap, fake European cities? I mean, 2-3 is enough for the whole country, but they're building them en masse all over the country. Get a great designer who knows how to make Asian style architecture and stuff and do that instead...for example, that abandon dragon park in Hue is amazing. They should be doing that. But I'm told they build all these faux European cities for the locals and Asian tourists that live around SE Asia and China whom cannot ever afford to go to Europe in their lives...or prefer to see "Europe" whilst in Asia.

    • @thumtlnguyen3626
      @thumtlnguyen3626 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you guys really think that the developers didn't think hard to decide which style of building they had to build? They built such style houses for sale to make the highest rate of return of investment. Middle class Vietnamese consumers like European style. The success of Bana Hills made them build European style I think. If they build traditional Asian style to attract White tourists but the sell would be slow. It will be ended up in cash trap. I think the sell would be promising without the COVID.
