it's not even "modern audiences" issue, it's because they straight up don't have any talented writers in the office that are willing to think outside the box like the mod author did
Thanks! Have you played Glenmoril or Unslaad? I only ask since I know that quite a lot of people who've played Vigilant don't know that its only the first in a trilogy of mods.
@@scrub9986 I have not played them but I have heard of them! I am currently waiting for Glenmoril to be completely finished so I can get the best experience for my first playthrough of it, and IIRC Unslaad is acutally the sequel to Glenmoril? So I'm jus waiting for now, will probably replay Vigilant and then Glenmoril and Unslaad when they are finished. Appreciate looking out though.
@@HzWn Yep, Unslaad is the 3rd in the trilogy, after Glenmoril. Strangely enough the final chapter of the trilogy got finished before the second chapter lol.
This combat setup is a combination of mods. If you want to set up something like this, I would check out the video titled "MCO Guide ⚔" by "Mern". I used that video to set up the combat. If you want to know where to find some of the specific fighting animations from the video, I can point those mods out to you. The Mern video has some sample MCO animation sets (& the mods can come with one on default), but Nexus is also home to quite a lot of them.
Oh! And I should probably mention that the mod at the center of the combat mechanics is "Valhalla Combat", idk how I forgot to mention that in my first comment.
The combat & movement setup is mainly a combination of these couple mods if that's what you're asking: True directional movement, TrueHUD, MCO ADXP, & Valhalla Combat
I use the shout overhaul mods "Stormcrown" & "Thunderchild". Its either one of them, or more likely, the combination of them both. Finally makes shouting as powerful as it sounds in the lore, very satisfying to make it a core part of combat and not just something to do every now and again.
@@scrub9986 I see. I use Improved Shouts for my Fire Breath addiction. Turns the base damage up to a max of 160 (reaching a max of 280 with Augmented Flames and Fire Within) and it also has a massively reduced cooldown to be more spammable. I think the timer without any modifiers is 30 secs. I wouldn't know, as I got enough modifiers to get it all down to 0, lol. It plus Dragonborn Flames is enough to give me some damn-good crowd control and high damage. Improved Shouts also improves other shouts in certain ways, such as making Soul Tear deal 400 damage instead of 300 on top of another shortened cooldown, something most of the improved shouts have in common with that mod. It's available on Creation Club, I recommend checking it out if you wanna see a more modest yet still dramatic power increase for Shouts.

Honestly, this telling of events is better than Michael Kirkbride's original version
too streamlined
Thanks for uploading this, been a while since I played this mod but I keep rethinking back on this scene.
