The linguistic differences plays a big part in Turkish. The word "Olsun" was used more than 5 different meaning in that song and some of them referring to more than 3 meaning in one line. In English you can translate them to phrases or simple words but in Turkish it gets quite messy (or should I say elaborated). Even the voice used when saying a word seperates the word itself from compliment to slang. It even connected very strongly to our syllable structure. In Turkish syllables divided by each vovel. The grammar, the rhyme and the flow of the Turkish songs because of that lost their meaning drastically when you translate to English. The translators tries their best but they can got stuck oftenly the choice between "Should I translate word by word or sentence by sentence?" or "Should I translate the feel or the motion of the song?". My advice to you is look for unofficial translations first. Read the original but use others. Otherwise you could end up hearing just a harmony of sound (which I use a lot and it's also OK to me). It is not "let it go" or "let it be", it is *"let it happen"*. In the lyrics, she is trying to convince either her partner or herself to break up after a long-term relationship or marriage hence she constantly repeats "let it happen", whispering to remind both parties "it is over". Let it go, doesn’t matter

Let it go, doesn’t matter
We can share whatever’s left, the poetries, friends, and the cities
Just let it go, doesn’t matter at all
We’re no longer free, nor is our time in this world
Let it, doesn’t matter one bit,
I shall leave, and you can keep İstanbul,
I shall leave, and you can keep İstanbul,
All alone I shall be, I shall be a wild river
I shall wipe my tears, as the city wipes my name
I shall cut my hair, find solace in myself,
I shall dry a rose, and forget about it afterwards
I shall write a letter, with words heavier than your absence,

Şebnem Ferah ft Hayko Cepkin ÖZGÜRCE YAŞA
Bu kadının şarkılarının sözleri, herzaman çok derin.
lol how did you miss that 6:47 the guitarist on the background broke his guitar string and changed his classic guitar to electo or bass
mostkedim 7:05 te elektro gitarın teli kopuyor dikkatli bak göreceksin ve o kopuk telle yine de muhteşem bir solo performans veriyor, sertab erener de bunu fark edip gitaristi izliyor
I LİKE YOUR HONEST BEHAVE❤️🇹🇷 LOVE FROM TURKEY
It is not "let it go" or "let it be", it is *"let it happen"*. In the lyrics, she is trying to convince either her partner or herself to break up after a long-term relationship or marriage hence she constantly repeats "let it happen", whispering to remind both parties "it is over". Here I translated the lyrics for ya,
We are no longer innocent, nor devoid of lie
let it happen
you take the pictures, seasons are already mine
just let it happen
we can split and share the poems, friends, cities
let happen what will (or is supposed to) happen
we are no longer free, neither are our lives
just let it happen
I'll leave, Istanbul can be yours
I'll put my head together that has been a crazy gurgling river (of thoughts)
I'll wipe my tears, so shall the city wipe my name
I'll get my hair cut, as a mere consolation
I'll keep a rose so I shall forget (it all) if it withers
I shall write a letter even heavier than your absence
I shall own a cat, you should rather call your mom over
Your hands shall remain in my mind, your love in my heart
There's always frustration and grief
So just say it, let it happen
She is the winner of 2003 eurovision, her voice is epic, you can also listen that song "every way that i can"🥰

Merve Yılmaz- Yalnızlık Senfonisi (Benimle Söyle)
Before the guitar solo, guitar's string broked and he changed the solo during the song. Sertab looked to him but he was perfect.
Hi Luke, since you are interested in Sertab Erener, I highly recommend her live performance singing "Bahcede". In the video, you can see the composer of the song crying at the performance. It is much better than the acoustic version as there is absurdly more feeling on stage in the performance. Below is the link,
