This is an urban legend in the water park near my area. Only difference is no one noticed that she was missing for hours so dozens of people slid underneath her. She was found when a lifeguard slid down slowly with a flashlight after a few people mentioned that it felt like they hit something halfway down the slide.

So don't forget that but also don't let that fact ruin your fun. It's being around that many people I don't like, if I could I'd love to have my own personal lazy river.

As someone who has worked at a waterpark, Shane sounds like the kind of person who would have ruined my day in the most frustrating way. Also, the scariest thing is knowing that this would most definitely not have closed down the park. People die in those places and the same ride is opened the next week.
Okay but they usually don't bleed all over everything after being blatantly murdered, right? I would think it's mostly stuff like drowning or heart attacks? That should be fairly easy to cover up for staff and easy to ignore for pool-goers. If you see the water go red from blood and then the body of a little girl crashes onto the floor of the empty pool, I'd think it's hard to forget that. Everybody would know about it and I doubt many would want to go there afterwards.
As someone who has also been a lifeguard, I feel like Shane would be one of the good ones who apologize after you explain why he can't do what he's doing.
I worked at a waterpark one summer, yes, I am scared of waterslides. Would never actually use one again after that, they're marked as safe but with all the injuries I've seen I don't feel they are.
This story genuinely terrified me. In Sierra Vista, Arizona when I was 10, there was this place called "The Cove" and there was this huge swirl slide that was pitch dark that would lead into this separate pool. I was wearing a somewhat oversized bathing suit (I was a very small bodied kid) and got stuck in the middle of the slide. I didn't realize I was stuck because I couldn't see anything, and when the realization hit me I was yelling for help but nobody could hear me. I squirmed and tried to wiggle out, panicking, and could barely breathe because I it was so hot and humid. I felt like the walls were getting smaller and it felt like time was slowing down. I even tried to take off my bathing suit bottom but the water rushing down the slide made it hard to get them off. I sat there crying and screaming for help, until eventually with all my squirming, my bathing suit bottom tore. I slid down bare butt and flopped into the pool. The lifeguard was at the bottom angry telling me not to play around in the slide until she saw me bare bottomed and sobbing that I was "stuck." She was talking to my mom and when I heard how long I was in there for, I broke down. Almost 10 minutes I was stuck in there and nobody even came for me. Its scary because the last time I was there, I nearly drowned in the big pool because they have automated waves that are way too strong, and I ended up stuck underwater beneath this very large lady with a float tube as the waves pushed us at the same time. I never went back, and to this day I am terrified of pools and water slides.
Oooh this one was pretty chilling, just because of the unorthodox but highly creepy location they chose. You don't think about slides like that, but being trapped in a claustrophobic dark tube with a creepy smiling corpse like that.... oof.
I would try to climb back up the slide because if i went down, i would go through the blood and the monster might be there or i will land on hard cement or worse on the girl but with a slide that long and a lot of twists, it would take long and be terrifying, i guess going down is the faster option
@@jessicao-o165 As a kid who used to climb up sides, it is super hard, I imagine more so when it’s that small and long. Especially since he was at the end of the slide, it was way easier to keep going. Though them draining the pool makes it way more dangerous in reality.
@@nerdycassidy I’m curious, what was the monster? Like, was it something she made up and brought it to life? A demon that haunted her? I’m curious what your thought process was when coming up with the monster!
@@mebreeveeA year late to this, but that's what makes this story so good! There are no answers! We don't know what killed the Little Girl, we don't know *how* she died, we don't know what caused her to stick to the roof of the slide. It's all just one big mystery that plays with your mind and I love it 😂
"I was the last person to see her" - the real horror story. It'd suck if someone went missing and ended up dead or something and you were their last contact. You're immediately a suspect.
Yeah but how would they explain the state of her body in a waterslide like that? Nobody going down a waterslide is going to have enough time to do all of that.
You know what's scary? Sending an hourly-wage-teenager with no insurance coverage down to inspect a possibly faulty water slide. Where is maintenance? Who owns this place? No wonder they shut down. That kids parents won it in the settlement!
I had a genuine fear of waterslides growing up because I was scared of falling out of open ones or getting stuck in closed ones. As an adult hearing this story, I just remembered this fear and may never go on a waterslide ever again.
The face I made when I realized the reason he had blood on him when he first came out of the tube was because he went directly underneath her, and The Monster most likely just saw him go down without him noticing LMAO almost pissed myself
It gives me the True Crime hit that I've been missing since unsolved. I know these are fictional storied and some do involve monsters etc, but they're less paranormal and more creepy, human type stuff
I really liked this story. I liked having the perspective be not the person stuck in the hell slide. From the intro I thought it was going to be a slide version of the Hellevator but it wasn't and that was a nice twist for me. It was chilling too, but not too spooky.
Having formerly worked at a similarly small waterpark as a slide attendant/lifeguard, this one really spooked me lol. We had a slide called the pipeline that was pitch black and was the second fastest slide at the park. It was wicked popular because of that, and in reality wasn’t that long. I’m imagining this happening there and it’s terrifying 😂
I saw something similar to that at a water park that feeds into a lake. It was all black and only really good swimmers and adults could go down it. It was completely black, inside and out. I was always terrified of it when I was younger because A) I can’t swim and B) I was scared that if there was monster in them, I wasn’t gonna be able to see them
daaamn, this was way scarier for me than most of the recent “are you scared” stories. maybe it’s just because of how familiar i was with smiledog, the russian sleep experiment, and ted the caver, but this one and the ball pit have been my favorites since the red man and the face in the walls!
Honestly one of the best stories thus far. I think the reason behind it being so scary is the fact that you’re literally trapped in an enclosed space with the thing scaring you. The protagonist also has no way to leave other than following the way the body went…. That’s terrifying… Amazing story!
I used to love waterslides, and then I became afraid of open waterslides and only liked closed ones after I almost fell out of one, and then I became afraid of ALL waterslides after I hit an empty tube, flipped over, and got a concussion in a closed one.
My neck bent oddly when I went on a closed one but it was tiny and recommended for children so it was my fault. I still go on closed ones but only if they are wide
I was at a water park and went on this big half open half closed slide, one part was going down a large and fast hill that was open to a closed part, it was fun. Two hours after I left, that little closed part decapitated a child. I haven’t been to a water park ever since.
Heavy SCP vibes with this one- the carnivorous waterslide! I'd love for the boys to read an actual SCP entry, I'm sure there are plenty that'd fit the word count.
@@Yue_mariin00 scp is similar to creepy pastas in the sense that it’s a written form of horror - basically it’s a made up secret government agency that captures various entities and keeps them hidden from the public view. there’s a website called “The SCP Wiki” that contains entries about these entities and most of them are horror-based. its also similar to men in black lol
Wouldn't they have to wait for the police to investigate the slide? Also I love that in this story it is kind of a public horror happening, in most of the stories only the protagonist experiences the terrifying events, but here the whole town is aware.
At the moment I don't think it was serious enough for anyone but the staff to intervene. Kid went into a water slide and didn't come out --- everyone thinks she's just stuck in there and is too afraid to scream. No one thought she'd end up dead
i've always thought waterslides were creepy as hell and just unsafe in general. i just didn't understand how the huge ones were so popular. it's a huge tunnel and you can't be seem from the outside and if you somehow get hurt or stuck rescue is gonna take a hell lot of work, that assuming someone hears you. id always think "what if i somehow moved in a weird way and ended up breaking my arm?" idk lmfao
Same here! I went on a big one one had what I call mini stops which is like a small pool you land in before you continue down the slide. There were 3 mini stops and I almost drowned in them 💀
@@harpiehunter9428 it was a sleepover and the friends went first, luckily I stayed with the mother she looked after me because I was scared. I believe I would have drowned it I went with the friends 💀
For a season finale I think it would be a cool idea to try out 40-60 minute stories. I’m always longing for more at the end of these. Thanks for making awesome videos!
I’ve just started watching these and the stories need to chill with the “smile”. For me, the girl smiling added an element that the story didn’t need, whereas the image of a completely lifeless body just on the top of the chamber is chilling. It might just be me, but it just takes me out of the story as it feels like the writer is now trying to scare you, instead of making you feel it organically
I don't worry about it so much with slides as they're manufactured to be a uniform size the whole way, typically. But I think about this whenever I see videos of people going into rock formations on shorelines of lakes/rivers/oceans where it makes a natural tunnel or slide. Like. If you think you have a chance of getting stuck, go down head first. If you go down feet first and get stuck that means there's not much space around you, and if the flow rate of water going down exceeds the flow rate of the water that manages to get by you then the water will start backing up and eventually your head will be under water... but head first you don't have to worry about that. Yeah, there's the issue of blood rushing to your head and causing problems, but that's not as immediate as water getting backed up and drowning you. Just did a really random bit of research on how long it takes for water to go through you. On an empty stomach it can go through you in as little as 5 minutes. So if the backup fills up slow enough you could maybe drink the water and then pee it out as that should be below the blockage (assuming it's someone's midsection). Lotta chlorine from the pool water... but still probably better to try it than just drowning... Another reason to not do stuff in water right after eating... (despite the original reason for that being false and made into a wive's tale).
This story reminds me of a recurring nightmare I had as a kid. In the dream I would be going down one of those big enclosed tube slides you get in soft play areas (not a waterslide but close enough) but near where the end should be, the slide forks in two and I end up going off on the 'wrong' tube. It quickly gets narrower and narrower until I am stuck in this weird offshoot tube that I can't climb out of because it's too steep. The dreams were always particularly vivid and realistic making them even worse. For some reason this stuck with me and I have had variations of this same nightmare multiple times throughout my life. So this story is possibly the creepiest I've heard on this channel for me!
@@nerdycassidyno no! (Sorry I’m replying after two years). I absolutely LOVE the way you wrote this, it’s my absolute most favorite story they’ve read on this show, even two years later!!! This story is perfection incarnate
That was in my opinion the best story and story telling in this series yet. Simply for the fact that it wasnt as obviously fake as most the others. Like it was mostly believable up untill the smile and scream. Which def would of scared the shit out of me if I was in the lifeguards shoes. I'd thrown up coming out the slide.
As jaded person that has listened to a lot of "true scary stories" my first thought is: Isn't it dangerous to go down the slide like that if the kid is possibly stuck and hasn't gone through the other end?
I'm p sure they're doing all fictional stories for this season. But I think it might be dangerous? Might push the kid the wrong way or the force might injure them
As someone who worked in a place with a few rides (not a waterpark tho) my immediate reaction is that he should have radioed his supervisor first. A coworker of mine got in serious trouble for not radioing for help after a ride started malfunctioning (no one was injured).
exactly my thoughts - theoretically, if she were stuck somewhere in the slide (and i suppose she was, in the end) he would have full force throat-kicked this ten year old down to the bottom, dead or alive.
That was some good writing! I usually check out if the inconsistencies in the story are too cringy, but this one doesn’t have those. It actually got my pulse up when the blood started!
This is too close to what happened at the Schlitterbahn water park in Kansas. A 10 year old boy was decapitated on the world’s highest water slide. It was all over the news here for a while
Until the description once they found her, I kind of thought it would end like that accident did. Feels like the author changed the exact manner of death to be supernatural instead to avoid that?
I had a dream about something similar to this. I was in an old dingy mcdonalds playground that looked like it had been abandoned for years. Kids kept going down the tube slide and never coming out, and no one knew what happened to them. In my dream reality it became something of an urban legend. I cant stop thinking about it and trying to figure out where they could have went and what fate they may have met.
No way i also used to have regular dreams about mcdonalds slides although i cant remember much except for that there used to be masked people and i was scared of them.
Hearing the things Shane says makes me feel less alone in my weirdness. It's so nice to see another grown person have strange thoughts and just say them!
I've been binging this series lately and this is easily the scariest one I've heard yet. Ryan is such a good storyteller and having Shane around to keep things relatively light is definitely a major help lmao
The water going at those speeds have actually hurt a lot of people. If water going at that speed gets into the v*gina it can literally Destroy your v*ginal and an*l canal. Leaving you with horrific scars for life and a need for Immediate surgery.
Im Always afraid of the end being closed of and then the slide slowely filling up with water and drowning me cause I cant find my way up in the darknes. That's why I only ever go on slides that aren't tubes. Even the normal none water slides scare me
I thought this story was gonna be super silly and ridiculous but it ended up being one of my favorites that they read on the channel! I guess it goes to show no matter the prompt, a good writer can make it spooky 🤣

I just searched ocean meadows for fun as I was listening to the story and turns out, a ten year old girl actually died riding a water slide on her first ride. It happened in London though and is not related to this story but I thought its really sad :( Maybe the author got her inspiration from that.
I'm torn between how absurd letting an employee scramble down a dry, corpse-bearing slide would be, and knowing that places like Action Park have existed.
@@Whatlander After that, who’s to say it’s not impossible? Plus, no one else showed up fast enough. You can lose a lot of blood and still survive too. But yeah. You want to say it shouldn’t and couldn’t happen, but then Action Park existed and some of these places run on a “hold my beer” mentality when it comes to management and safety.
I don't know why this story got me but it filled me with terror. I was so afraid and sorry for that girl even though I knew she was fictional. The fact that the narrator wasn't the person it happened to somehow made it so much worse
There are so many true horror stories about unmaintained and untested water slides and rides, this perfectly captured some of that realism with a touch of the uncanny!

@@jessicao-o165 As a kid who used to climb up sides, it is super hard, I imagine more so when it’s that small and long. Especially since he was at the end of the slide, it was way easier to keep going. Though them draining the pool makes it way more dangerous in reality.

Yeah but how would they explain the state of her body in a waterslide like that? Nobody going down a waterslide is going to have enough time to do all of that.

I had a genuine fear of waterslides growing up because I was scared of falling out of open ones or getting stuck in closed ones. As an adult hearing this story, I just remembered this fear and may never go on a waterslide ever again.
Same. The author of this story is my daughter. She developed the idea while actually at a water park. The inspiration is quite comical.

Honestly it's just giving me a supernatural spin to all my regular fears
i developed a fear of elevators from this channel :D
It gives me the True Crime hit that I've been missing since unsolved. I know these are fictional storied and some do involve monsters etc, but they're less paranormal and more creepy, human type stuff
I really liked this story. I liked having the perspective be not the person stuck in the hell slide. From the intro I thought it was going to be a slide version of the Hellevator but it wasn't and that was a nice twist for me. It was chilling too, but not too spooky.
Horror you don’t see is fun to write, you can play with the natural instinct to imagine the horror for yourself.
I feel like we in the Matrix … Jenni B
I saw something similar to that at a water park that feeds into a lake. It was all black and only really good swimmers and adults could go down it. It was completely black, inside and out. I was always terrified of it when I was younger because A) I can’t swim and B) I was scared that if there was monster in them, I wasn’t gonna be able to see them
daaamn, this was way scarier for me than most of the recent “are you scared” stories. maybe it’s just because of how familiar i was with smiledog, the russian sleep experiment, and ted the caver, but this one and the ball pit have been my favorites since the red man and the face in the walls!
What's the ball pit one? I've seen all of them (I think) and don't recall one about a ball pit.
Same
Honestly one of the best stories thus far. I think the reason behind it being so scary is the fact that you’re literally trapped in an enclosed space with the thing scaring you. The protagonist also has no way to leave other than following the way the body went…. That’s terrifying… Amazing story!
I'm a lifeguard, and Shane calling lifeguards "cool" made my day!
same
Lifeguards ARE super cool. Thanks to you guys for watching out for everyone and saving lives!
Well you ARE in fact cool. Keep up the good work!
I used to love waterslides, and then I became afraid of open waterslides and only liked closed ones after I almost fell out of one, and then I became afraid of ALL waterslides after I hit an empty tube, flipped over, and got a concussion in a closed one.
How high were you when you fell?!
Action park in NEW JERSEY?
My neck bent oddly when I went on a closed one but it was tiny and recommended for children so it was my fault. I still go on closed ones but only if they are wide
Man I'm scared of the open ones. Especially them 90° & 180° angled ones. I constantly fear "What if I fall out of this slide?" :/
Made me think of SCP-1562. That one is a playground slide though
ooh they should read one of the SCP 001 entries: “when day breaks”
What's SCP?:0
@@Yue_mariin00 scp is similar to creepy pastas in the sense that it’s a written form of horror - basically it’s a made up secret government agency that captures various entities and keeps them hidden from the public view. there’s a website called “The SCP Wiki” that contains entries about these entities and most of them are horror-based. its also similar to men in black lol
Wouldn't they have to wait for the police to investigate the slide?
Also I love that in this story it is kind of a public horror happening, in most of the stories only the protagonist experiences the terrifying events, but here the whole town is aware.
The protag felt personally responsible, which is probably what compelled them to persevere instead of waiting for law enforcement.

BEST EPISODE THIS SEASON
Ooo hello Ms. Verified:)
Totally agree!
I agree
Ryan: "That's disgusting, what shape?" Without missing a beat!
Reasons I’m scared of water slides: water parks are gross, what if I get stuck, whatever this episode has to offer
Shane and Ryan’s commentary are the equivalent of scrolling through TH-cam comments when watching a scary video
Shane and Ryan: Are you scared of water slides?
Me: Yeah, I once-
Shane and Ryan: *Want us to make it worse?*
Shane going with "Wet Dreams" as a way to close out the show is truly hilarious to me

They've all been fake since the end of the first season
It sounded like he went down carefully/slowly.
exactly my thoughts - theoretically, if she were stuck somewhere in the slide (and i suppose she was, in the end) he would have full force throat-kicked this ten year old down to the bottom, dead or alive.
"I am Ryan Bergara, and this is.... Are You Scared?"
*Shane looks up as usual*
*Ryan:* Don't look at it!
*Shane:* Well I looked at it.
Through a portal to another world?
McDonald's slides (or just any tube slide) always creeped me out.
No way i also used to have regular dreams about mcdonalds slides although i cant remember much except for that there used to be masked people and i was scared of them.
