Watching side:hope makes me think how unfair it is for naegi, because basically SDR2 cast is all alive and kicking, while the DR1's victim and killer died for good. I love SDR2 cast, but maybe reviving them was too good for me..
Have you seen the anime...? Nanami was real... And the difference between both of them is that Naegi and the others were forced to kill each other by Enoshima and their friends are dead. For the SDR2 cast, they had Nanami killed, and then they were brainwashed into literally ending the world. So while they are all still alive, they still have the pain and sadness of killing millions of people when they really didn't want to, they were just brainwashed by Enoshima. So having the entire class stay dead may have been too much.
Makoto had a taste of despair when he watched his dead classmates, thus activating his "Survivor's Guilt". Izuru had a taste of despair when he saw Chiaki die right before his eyes. Munakata tasted despair when he had lost the two people that cared about him the most, Juzo and Chisa. I was happy that the 77th class lived, as well as Kyoko being alive despite activating her NG code (my explanation would be that Kizakura's sacrifice will be in vain if she died) so I would like to thank Seiko and Mikan for that. Both parties deserved a good ending imo. Hajime and the others carry the burden of being 'despair', Makoto carrying the burden of being 'hope', and Munakata carrying the burden of 'loss of the people who cared about him'. Still in the final killing game, the survivors are only 4. I won't count Kyoko's reappearance, because she didn't show up when Makoto and the others ended the game, she only showed up when the killing game was over. I always kept pondering, why did V3 have 3 survivors, not 4, then this comment gave me the answer, Danganronpa 3 had 4 survivors, so that's why there were only 3 survivors in V3

Imo the 77th class deserved to survive because they need to redeem themselves for what they did. In the end, they are left with most of the world hating them because they decided to take the blame.

Well, what if they went to future foundation as the former ultimate (insert talent here) and they only sent makoto, kyoko and byakuya to go pick up the dr2 cast from Jabberwock island. After the tragedy, they decided to commemorate the tragedy with a faux killing and this one was participated by the drv3 cast and makoto and hajime were there to teach them how the class trial works.
