This story feels like what ChatGPT would write if you told it to write a horror story. Just throwing everything at the wall and hoping something sticks lol and the characters talk like the writers think the audience is 5 years old
I'd be surprised if it wasn't ai written. It's so generic while being so f'ing boring and cringe. Literally nothing happens for 3/4ths of the game, there isn't even a killer or any looming threat to be scared of.
Reminds me of telltale games if (the few “good”) telltale games were written by high schoolers. Kind of like life is strange xD

@@Ketchum-vt2wh Right? I reload if I make the wrong dialogue option and hurt their feelings, and he specifically goes out of his way to and keeps going. Even after the decade+ it's still frustrating for me to witness him make these ungodly choices but I wouldn't want it any other way with him.

Out of all the "horror walk games" this was by far the longest walking sim. For 3+ hours, literally nothing happens, and when it finally does something horror related, it's killer bong and thanks killing level quality. The og creators left and it shows😂

This game is the least satisfying choice game ive ever seen any streamer play lol. I dont know if youre supposed to play through it multiple times and make different choices or not but I feel like I have 100 questions and 0 answers. Maybe it was James' choices and runs that led to a uniquely confusing run but I feel like they didn't explain a single thing.

This game's only redeeming quality is the character models. I've seen a LOT of shit games, but this one takes it. A game to explain the lore of DBD and explained literally nothing that everyone didn't already know. No explanation internally or in reference to the broader universe. Unbelievable.

I've seen 3 playthroughs of this game and James takes the cake for most amusing. I'm surprised he didnt get though that Augustine was the person in the cloak and she traveled through the timelines to get all the pieces of this film because she made the perfect killer and wanted to bring him back to life with the pieces of his souls that were trapped in the film pieces. I will agree that I never understood the point of Stan so I can only think that he's just a character you can be in the game? I think young Linda's model looks similar to one of the people you can be (although I could be mixing up dead by daylight and that Jason game).
This felt like either we burnt through all the money and have to film do the whole end with like 0 budget... or they were like we gotta connect this to the game somehow at the end...
I don't know how they managed that, barely anything ever happens in this "horror" game. It's like if Jason Voorhees only appeared in the last 20 minutes of a movie. Scratch that more like 5 minutes with the length of the game.

@@mrplayfulshade depends what you’re into I guess! I do think it was boring, and I am usually a BIG fan of their stuff. It felt a little stifled by the whole DBD thing, the resulting story and especially the ending was quite meh, and for James’ play through specifically, not enough action or consequences for his choices.

High and random ramble, BUT dude, this game frustrates me with how they fumbled the potential! The idea was there and interesting and the visuals are great, but of course, they dropped the ball again. It feels like the game thinks we're idiots and spells shit out, when it's not necessary! Not to mention that those statements that pop up on the side spell out shit far too early and is hella descriptive for no reason. I'm glad James and I shared reactions like at 3:54:09 regarding how the game thinks this is new lol Really hope they get to take the ideal time they need to drop a better addition to the Supermassive series going on
It was all around bad. I don't actually know if the cringe dialog was intentional at all, and characters make the weirdest decisions and switch ups out of nowhere (outside of the playable choices). It also takes 2/3rds for literally anything to happen. Zero scares at all until that green weird energy monster thing. They seriously took almost every joke idea James had to make it shloc and actually played it out seriously. This game is buns 😂. But James can literally make me watch paint dry and keep me entertained

Forgot to comment after watching the full thing and wow.. This game is awful. It really feels like Supermassive have been trying to capture the spirit of Until Dawn and just failed at every juncture. If it wasn't for James, this would have just been a disaster.
As someone who knows nothing about DBD, this game only really strives at making obscure references, right up until the end when it hits you over the head and it just feels so undeserved. I also love that you can see the exact moment James stopped caring and immediately started making the worst choices because of how little investment he had.
For what it's worth, it did get me slightly interested in the story/lore of DBD.. So it worked well as the ad that it is.
It's so unbelievably boring. There isn't a looming threat for 3/4ths of the game, if that. What are we supposed to be afraid of, a VIRTUAL creepy abandoned mill?
