    Great job! Great video! 🦋 "I have made the mistakes for you, so you don't have to make the same ones." I used that conversation when I was raising my children.

    I think you did such a good job. I would wear them all . I learned something I definitely can do with my old shoes.

    Thank you! I Liked your video (great production quality)! I'm a daddy of daughters in my own little corner of the world trying to learn this. I got my razor today that looks just like yours - Question: when you cover the shoe with the fabric and cut it out with the razor, how do you see / know where to cut? I'm putting fabric on a panel of the shoes so it's a particular shape. I need my fabric to match the shape exactly. Say it's a triangle for example, how do I know where the lines of the triangle are under my fabric so I get the exact shape, and hot have it off by an eighth of an inch or something?

      Thank you! Awww, my father had all girls. 😊 How sweet of you do this!
      Well, after applying the fabric, when the Mod Podge is still damp/wet, I use a butter knife, spoon handle, or even my nail to feel where the "line" forms where the shoe meets the sole. I press into that line. If the Mod Podge is already dry, it might be a little harder to feel the line, but give it a try.
      On the video with the polka dot shoes you can see me using a utensil to do this. I hope I understood your question and prayerfully this answers it.
      Let me know how they turn out! 😁

    How long does it take to dry and do you do more than one coat? Thanks for sharing. One idea, go thifting for shoes and practice with them unless you find a pair that you like.😊

    • @LadiesBlvd
      @LadiesBlvd  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kingdomarts2974 It takes a few hours to dry, and that will depend on how heavy handed one is with the glue. Usually about six hours. I only use one coat. Using thrifted she's is an awesome way to practice!

    you shoes covering is so perfect , it looks like those shoes have just came out from a store shelves .
    I'm a man , and I bought deck shoes and derby shoes , unfortunately I soon found out the upper of each shoes were fake leather , it started to crackle and peel off . our locals shoes repairmen are only gifted at repairing soles , the upper part of the shoes they just apply polish , they can't replace nor cover it .
    I live in Africa , we import glues from Europe , we don't have the brand of glue you show us in the video

      So sorry to hear that! I've learned much if what I know from talented African women. They sometimes refer to whatever adhesive they are using as "gum." I do not know what that is, but maybe you can find that.

    I used matte mod podge. My fabric darkened in several places. Has this happened to you? Any chance you know why? I'd post a photo but I don't know how. 😕

    • @LadiesBlvd
      @LadiesBlvd  ปีที่แล้ว

      (I wish you could post photos in the comment section. That would be awesome.)
      But to answer your question, yes, I’ve had it happen (slightly). For me, the darkening effect was never anything significant or noticeable. I chopped it up to me being a little heavy handed with the glue at times.
      Also, the type of blend, thickness, textile dye, etc. all contribute to potential “responses.” I usually use a cotton blend that is about as thick as a bandana.
      So sorry to hear that! If it’s too noticeable and you’re comfortable with them, rock ‘em Sister! 👠

    Could you do a diy on strapy shoes .

    • @LadiesBlvd
      @LadiesBlvd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there. I've never done shoes with a strap. There might be a tutorial somewhere online. Maybe you can give it a shot in a older pair if shoes if you're looking to do a pair. Hoping they turn out beautifully if you do. ❤️

    Thank you for the tips. How long doe fabric covered shoes last?

    • @LadiesBlvd
      @LadiesBlvd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! It should be permanent if the shoe doesn't get wet! The fabric will start to detach if the shoe gets significantly wet.

    • @lenoredavi6137
      @lenoredavi6137 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you walk on pavement, outside they will last longer than on gravel, grass, sand, or mulched surfaces. If you mostly wear them inside, they could last years, so long as you keep them dry. You can add a top coat of matte, satin, or gloss modge podge if you need stain resistance, and if you do get them wet ( and the fabric lifts off) you can apply some more modge podge and reglue them.

      Hmmmmm....I am not sure about that. I've never done it and I'm not sure how sanding would fix wrinkles. But maybe it is helpful for another type of wear/tear. If you do so, I'd love to know how it turns out!
