A I am born in former Yugoslavia. Mom is Serbian, Dad is Bosnian. During the '90's war we came to the Netherlands and I got Dutch nationality. Have been living in Amsterdam for over 5 years.
Q How can you afford to travel so much?

Q (Why) Are you vegetarian?
A I'm vegetarian but not strict. I don't eat any meat, fish, cooked/boiled or fried eggs. I gradually became a vegetarian over the course of 15 years because I disliked the taste of meat more and more. After doing a yoga teacher training in 2015 I also quit fish and the eggs. No matter my food preferences I have no issues with other people not being vegetarian. I don't judge others and kind of expect the same favor from others concerning my own food preferences. It makes for a more friendly world :-)
Q Why do you usually travel alone?
A Because my friends have jobs with limited holidays, kids and partners. Also I really like exploring on my own.

The traditional Rajasthani dish ur talking about is called gatte ki sabji, it’s balls made out of chikpea flour and cooked in a yogurt based curry... it’s the dish we make regularly at our place.

Ivana you have traveled across almost half of the India nd xplored so much amazing food but trust me all this is incomplete until you travel to Madhya Pradesh...the central India...Indore in MP is the food capital which includes far more different flavours...nd also the wildlife tourism is very popular...pls pls pls visit MP once..u won't be disappointed

Pulav is something else it is cooked differently it's Masala is also different. what you were having was veg handi biryani
Here are combinationa of gujarati and rajasthani dishes.. as dhokla is authentic gujarati dish.. as well u had tri color dhokla that is called trirangi dhokla in gujarati. Then u had haandvi that is also gujrati dish. Then u had sweet daal that is gujrati daal. As well u had mango kadhi that is authentically said "keri no Fajeto" in gujarati. That is too gujarati dish. Even u had gujarati thepla the yellow flat bread too..
All States have own different food culture in India. You have seen just 1% of food culture. There is Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, South Indian, Marathi food and etc.
Morning time is Breakfast time, there will different foods. In the afternoon time - there will be different food and at night it will be different.

Ok in ur farsan platter. That potato jelly type thing was kothambir wadi, that colourful dhokla is called tirangi dhokla, that dahi char was khasta kachori char, that samosa like thing was ghughra, it can be both sweet and savory. And yes mumbai pani puri is the best pani puri in the whole freankin world... love u ivana, and thanks again for my special birthday wish...

Read a little bit about what grows where.. Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh are gram flour/ pulses dominated areas you will most of the dishes based on them.. Delhi, Punjab haryana..chole/rajma dominates in south a lot of rice based foods especially in Tamil naidu.. Kerala is for coconuts.. Quite a few items in that thali were not local Rajasthani dishes..

I think Ivana ji. You can do a video on local / street beverages in India in summer season. Becaz many people who travel on foot exploring streets would love to try them. And there are lot of varieties available in summer. Sugarcane juice, mango rice pudding, different type of soda, ru-afza, faluda, ice Gola, thandi, rabdi, kulfi, Keri Pani, aam pana, butter milk, lassi

the kadhi with balls is the authentic kadhi and this one u tried was plain one...another thing that khadi varies from region to region all over india...
And yess veg pulao is the right way to say it.....

Beautiful nd very interesting thali though as others pointed out ..its not a Rajasthani Thali but a mix of thalis...nd they served u in brass not copper but yea ur dress is more like copper color....lol...nd i guess its one of ur favourites.
In my opinion Pulao nd Biryani are two different dishes though its more to do with the style of cooking.......agree the original version of biryani was always with meat (red meat) nd veg version came out later but still there is a veg biryani.
Kolkata pani puri, or as we bongs call it "phuska", is *the best*
