Another thing with the Taurus is that it’s tractor beam can move around ship pieces to make the cargo more accessible.

Been doing this for a good 6 weeks. Great money.
I’ve made about 30 million auec this week in my Taurus. I have 2 Ad5b and 2 Ad4b’s. It’s the best solo ship for these missions.
Been running with both C2 and Taurus. Use 2 fixed size 5 laser cannons on both but the connie can use AD4B's as well. Huge difference in kill rates and generally only have to reload every other ERT.

Thanks for the tip on pinning the ships. I always have hard time finding the downed ships especially in dark asteroid belts
I'd also try with distortion guns above and laser cannons below. No need to reload and distortions are again pretty strong, haven't tried them on such big ship but even 2 size 2 can disable most ships and since you are in atmo, they would purely fall and you could collect easier.
Only distortion above size 3 is a scattergun. It would be pretty difficult to use effectively
I've been pinning but if the target drops out, the pin goes with it. If I miss the pin, I spam the target under reticle while sweeping the area.
Just run VHRT : same loot no hammerheads

I am running HRT in the gorgeous C1 but I'm frustrated because all the ships just seem to hard death all the time. I am not sure what am I doing wrong. I am of couse holding fire when the target gets taken out but still, I feel like only 1/5 go into soft death.
Depends on ship and server health. Smaller ships require less shots to go from soft to hard death.
Sometimes the server struggles and applies a lot of the dmg you do at once. On other server there are almost no issues.
Use staggered fire (esp. with cannons) and hope for the best.
Hey, who has two thumbs and just melted their Cutlass into a Taurus?
c2 with s5 and you can just "not die" for hours farming VHRT and ERT easily. Last night 20m in 3 hours. And for sure you wouldn't show up and Brio's with no ammo.
That is why I roll with the A2... less cargo, but I bomb Brio's before landing.

With a handscanner how do you know what SCU container actually holds?
You mean without a hand scanner? Just pick them up with any type of tractor beam tool, it will show you the content and also remember it after you drop them.
Can you purchase this Connie Taurus in game or do I have to spend $200. I already own the cutty black.

Btw you can buy most of the ships ingame. When a concept ship goes live you will usually be able to buy it ingame after 3-6 month
I i thought of the taurus, but i opted for the C2 with S5 laser cannons
Been running with both. Generally prefer the Taurus as it kills faster but every time you hit a big load of eggs or maze without the cargo capacity to take them all...sadness happens :)

@davewills148 that's fair, if you're operating solo, it really doesn't matter as all the starlifter variants have the exact same specs. C2 just gives you more cargo capacity.

They look like PVE bounty hunting missions in the General tab.
I managed to find a Caterpillar with 94scu of gasping weevil eggs but my connie cargo elevator was damaged and stuck half open. So I tried to die and go back to marker but ship was gone by then I was so sad
If I'm not mistaken, I'm the cargo will persist if you take it out of the hold. So just move it out of the ship and you can just backspace yourself and respawn to grab a bigger ship. Thay way you get a death marker back to the loot.
Normally you can open and close the elevator from your cockpit seat and it will fix the problem.
Never thought of using pins for finding downed ships!

I have been doing these in a C2 (mostly VHRTs though), I pull out about 500k-2mil per VHRT, and it only fills 2/5 of the C2 on average.
side note, had a player do a ERT over Brio's and after they got the target bugged out. I took out the ads and walked away with 2.1mil... I was in a Spirit C1, it took some time.

I do love the Connie series but prefer my Corsair with full ballistics.

Yeah, I prefer the Corsair, too. In fact it was between the Corsair and the Taurus. The Taurus won out because of cargo space difference. Taurus has 100SCU more room. I ran an ERT yesterday where I almost completely filled up the Taurus with maze which I wouldn't have been able to come close to with the Corsair. Made 10 million off that run :)
@ewd1020 It's possible to fit 120scu in the corsair off grid 3 32scu containers and a 24 scu sideways or 5 24scu containers sideways
