- On the mountain Cincar in Livno (Bosnia and Herzegovina) more than a thousand wild horses have found their home.
Besides Iceland and Mongolia, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only country with more than 1,000 wild horses galloping freely through the wilderness.
Amidst the rugged landscapes of Livno, a small town located in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a remarkable and untamed presence graces the fields and valleys: the Livno wild horses. These magnificent creatures, descendants of ancient equine lineages, paint a living portrait of freedom and resilience against the backdrop of the region's storied history.
Mount Cincar is located near the town of Livno. The mountain's rugged terrain, alpine meadows, and clear lakes make it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Livno provides a gateway to Mount Cincar and wild horses, offering access to hiking trails and opportunities to explore the mountain's natural beauty.
Visitors to Livno often use the town as a base for their adventures on Mount Cincar. The town itself has a charming atmosphere, with historic architecture, cultural sites, and a local market. Livno is also known for its traditional cuisine and dairy products, including the famous Livno cheese.
