I love how them models MTX sounds. very sq subs and very clean. I had the 7500 first15's on Memphis 1000 pr. People thought I had more than 2 15's. when I brought the 9500, they really blew my mind. I them on a Rockford 3000 and they was amazing. As far as spl's, I did a 153 with them sealed. I don't care for numbers, I rather give a strong clean demo that will blow u away. wish they was still making the 9500

The 9500 is a legend subwoofer, very clean low end and good agility, doesn't sound sluggish like other high excursion subwoofers. I would like to know how the ZV4 sounds like compare to the 9500.

Yeah Sonics have them for that good price all day and it seems like they're the only one selling old style 9500. It makes me wonder if they're even new or what lol..but naw must be a surplus of stock or they cut a deal with Mtx. I ordered some from them and sitting next to my Mayhem 18's, the whole sub is no joke for some "mainstreams". Though I havn't gotten around to hearing them yet
I would say the mtx has less mechanical noise and a cleaner sound with richer bass but less excursion. The Sundown has more excursion but less of the really deep bass and it’s a little bit sloppy but this is to be expected with a lot of excursion. This is only a ZV4 though, the ZV5 series is out and I haven’t heard those so sundown may be a little bit better than the mtx with their new series.

the MTX 9500 has more cone area that is why it has a narrow high roll rubber surround than the sundown, the sundown has too much rubber surround that takes place of the cone area. I give the award to the MTX 9500. I did my research on both and I found that the sundown only has a 3" voice coil and mtx 4".
rob good yeah man you know if has that 4” coil you can put 1800 or more watts on that sub all day I used have 2 15” 9500 man back in high school on 2 2400 watt concept amps I had them on a constant 13.4 volts and pushed 2400 watts to those 15s all day no problem
I have 2 mtx 9512-04s in a 6th order enclosure on a twisted sounds 3.5k at 2ohms getting around 1300 wtts. each. They rock hard for 2 12's. Have never owned sundown so i have no comment.
The sundown may have a 3 inch coil but its a more durable coil than the mtx I own a 9500 and I will tell you they will take 2k+ rms no problem! Both these subs are monsters but the mtx has better sq I do give the spl to the zv4 that thing is just insane the 9500 is one of the most underrated subs on the market

well, it shows a difference between the builds and size for what we can see. That is half the reason why my e15 has lasted so long with how much I have clipped overheated and overall pushed it past the brink of normal sub death. Although the old MTX was great no doubt, sundown just gives you a pillow of quality to rest at ease with sound quality and ability. Especially with how shit quality pioneer and the other mainstream manufacturers have turned. But this doesn't show real excursion or how clean they are either.

Zionslayer1 well honestly I have owned 2 orion hcca ' s and yes they are very loud and powerful I would not choose them over these 2. The mtx is the best sounding subwoofer second only to the W7 and powerful as hell. The sundown sounds very clean and is very powerful. if you want just loud and you don't care are sound quality then the hcca is best but if it was up to me I would choose both these subs over the hcca because they are very powerful and sound really good.

well honestly I have owned 2 orion hcca ' s and yes they are very loud and powerful I would not choose them over these 2.
The mtx is the best sounding subwoofer second only to the W7 and powerful as hell.
The sundown sounds very clean and is very powerful.
if you want just loud and you don't care are sound quality then the hcca is best but if it was up to me I would choose both these subs over the hcca because they are very powerful and sound really good.

Awsome!!! The only sound Is the cones and coils vibrating. Might have been a good Idea. To put them in a enclosure. So they can do. What they are suppose to do. Push air in a box. To make low frequency sounds.

Why don't you make subwoofer videos and show the world how it's done... everyone thinks that they can do it better but have zero videos. I tell everyone if you think you can do a better don't just talk the talk do some walking or put simply buy a stereo system and make a video talk in it and show everyone how it is done right.

I love when salty haters drop the you live with mommy and daddy because they can't imagine anyone living better than themselves. Also If I got a dollar for every time a person on TH-cam claims to have all subwoofers or what ever but can never prove it. The amount of time it takes to you to reply to me and argue you could upload a video and prove you actually have what you claim and that is you have more subs than me and all my friends... prove it !

PowerAcoustic Gothic owned by SoundStream and contrary to subwoofer snobs same surround minus the basket, motor and cone they are at least 30% close to the 9500s in my book!
Your Daddy the only subwoofer they have to offer that’s 1000rms besides there 18” subwoofer is the T5 series tarantula when I came back from Iraq 2010 I had saved a bunch of money and put 4 15” T5 tarantula in my navigator and it was pretty loud
