This group has really put it together. Saw them at the Blooming Bluegrass Festival, I n Farmers Branch, Texas. This group really rocks but it is Bluegrass to the core. Luv this new sound. Can't say enough people go see these guys. Their new guitarist is great. Theyr all so good, Off The Rails! Standing ovation.
Yeah, me too. Over 300 times from 1972-1995. It was obviously a major part of my life. To have been in the same room and breathed the same air as Jerry Garcia so many times was the thrill of my life.
Because Ronnie learned at an early age, as did I, that it is simply a pleasure to have been in the same room and breathed the same air as Jerry Garcia. He and the boys were able to turn buildings of concrete into cathedrals of divine light.
Saw these guys play with Dierks Bentley out at Red Rocks last year and it was damn awesome. I will be seeing them in January here in Florida and I definitely look forward to it.
As much as I usually love the bands interpretations of most songs I can't help but wonder how much better 'Walk of Life' (1:04:20) would sound if they cranked up the speed a notch or two.
You know we are all accustomed to the band being mic'ed with Del....yes there is a missing acoustic element. Especially on the 5 string - very Tin type sound. But the boys seem to be having fun so live and let live!
Herd thim on the radio there a good band hope to see them play in person one day
A great show from a great band! Love the addition of Cody Kilby!

Great shows on all these Travelin McCoury youtube clips. Thanks to everyone who posts them. I'll make sure I see 'em when they come to my town.
"We used to go see the Grateful Dead quite a bit... In my youth..." -Ronnie McCoury (57:55)

Ronnie sounds a WHOLE LOT like his dad. It is great to know the McCoury sound will endure.

IS THERE A COPY OF THIS CONCERT
Great picking but anyone else feel DI has lost the greatness of the sound of what is probably over $50,000 in fine instruments?
DI?
Direct input. Piezo transducers instead of mics on the strings. They compress the sound greatly, but avoid feedback. I don't like them either.
You know we are all accustomed to the band being mic'ed with Del....yes there is a missing acoustic element. Especially on the 5 string - very Tin type sound. But the boys seem to be having fun so live and let live!
MandoMountain Totally, I can't stand the way pickups destroy a guitars sound.
hate DI
I think they should do "Let Her Go" at the original speed, or maybe just a little bit faster. Not at the breakneck speed they do it at.
34:47 1:04:26 1:12:28
thank God. a show without keller.....or Jeff austin
Put down the joint.... Keller is awesome
JASON CARTER!
Worst crap I have ever heard.
dont let the door hit u in the ass on the way out .
The instrumentals are fantastic, but the vocals are lack luster. Add a great female vocalist and they would have an incredible sound.
How so?
Sorry Mikey, Del doesn't travel with the Travelin' McCourys.
This more to do with the recording than them being lacklustre i suspect.
I respectfully disagree. The male sound on bluegrass brings me back to my Appalachian roots. These guys rock!
