Great video as always. The construction guys in the background here gives this entire presentation a surreal feeling as if maybe this is some post-apocalyptic world, with you hiding in your bunker sending these missives out, hoping someone's out here still thinking about making music. Towards the end there I think maybe there are elephants trumpeting, trying to break their way into your bunker. Well done, despite the obstacles.
Really fun stuff and such a great format. Nice scarf! Some very fun gear and that Orchid looks beautiful. Toraiz Chordcat is worth keeping an eye on as well if it ever escapes Japan. Keep warm!
Another fantastic episode sir! Thanks again for putting the time in on these. I’m really interested in the new creation from Music Thing Modular. Tom always does really good stuff. One thing that I thought was cool, is the reason he put the patch points in the center. It’s so two people can sit opposite each other at a table and play one unit together for a shared explorative experience. ( That’s why there’s symmetry from top to bottom ). I love that idea on SO many levels. I’n a time when so much music is made alone, with headphones, in relative isolation, anything that makes music a shared experience again, just warms my heart and gives me hope for new generations of musicians.
😍 Thank you so much for the Sumu coverage. Also I didn’t see the new Korg controller. Could be great for writing at the pub. Just have to not forget about it and leave it there after a few pints. 😂
The feature of casette tape I really miss, and noticed immediately when it was gone was the format's inherent ability to save your playback place. I could pick up where I left off, even years later
@3:55 - I remember what Eno is quoted as saying: "Whatever you now find weird, ugly, uncomfortable and nasty about a new medium will surely become its signature. CD distortion, the jitteriness of digital video, the crap sound of 8-bit - all of these will be cherished and emulated as soon as they can be avoided. It’s the sound of failure: so much modern art is the sound of things going out of control, of a medium pushing to its limits and breaking apart. The distorted guitar sound is the sound of something too loud for the medium supposed to carry it. The blues singer with the cracked voice is the sound of an emotional cry too powerful for the throat that releases it. The excitement of grainy film, of bleached-out black and white, is the excitement of witnessing events too momentous for the medium assigned to record them.” 😀
Artemis will probably be a hit. I like my nymphes but this one seems to be closer to the poly typhoon people were hoping for. Weird that they released a video and that it's available for preorder but there was no official announcement.
Bro, i think its time you just go and do some stand up at a comedy club. Im laughing my american arse off haha . There are a lot of episodes i have to go back in time to watch. Your just killing it.
The OP-XY is the only TE product I was attracted to, the D.A.F inspired video is odd but drew me in 🙂 Mine was delivered this week, I love it, it's perfect for noodling on the sofa, the clicky tapping button noise annoys my wife. So it wins on several fronts.
Yeah I thought about DAF, too, but what a bloodless performance, compared to what Gabi did then...If that's an intentional comparison of the music and vibe then and today, I have to agree...
Find out how great the Pigtronix Resotron is. Plug a Korg SQ-1 into it's expression/CV input, while running various things through it, all in sync.... 😉
I think the Y in the OP XY is pronounced WHY?! I also think it will become a bit like many Leica cameras, as a desktop display thingy in expensive offices.
Do you know the singer of " Tame Impala " ??? Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Announces New Instrument Orchid Conceived by Parker and developed by Telepathic Instruments, Orchid is an “advanced chord generating hardware synthesizer”
That nanokey is so stupid. Laptops don't have clicky keys. Using your laptop's keys as a keyboard isn't great, but a fold-up thing with membrane button keys is definitely a worse input device than your laptop's keyboard.
Some fab stuff here, Robin! Thanks loads, as always! See you in Feb!
Done weirdly interesting stuff this time around. Thanks for helping us keep up to date on this.
You had me at "alarmingly purple" haha. Great stuff. Bravo
Love your insightful commentary always!!
"I'm surprised it doesn't have a built in ashtray!" Genius!
Hey Robin, thank you so much for featuring the HOG! Much love ❤
30:26 It's this, that lured me here. It's so retro looking, I love it.

Loved Space:1999! :)
Liking the shirt, sure it's a bit 'curtains', but cool nonetheless.
I always like Robin’s shirts
...built-in ashtray :D
Reminds me of my mother's car, an Opel whatever. It had a bit of a filter also.

The Orchid is a chord organ, no?
korg is insane in the membrane
there might not be an Audrey 1, Audrey 2 is a little shop of horrors reference.
24:30 OP-XY promo makes a bit more sense if you know the music video of Liebe auf den Ersten Blick by DAF
Niché
It's so hot over here!! (singing) "It's the most wonderful time of the month .................. "
I'm surprised it doesn't have a built in ashtray 😂
That CRUM HUM is rather nice.

You can also buy a chordorgan 2nd hand for 5 bucks.
5:48 somebody ( or a selfdriving thing) almost killed a pedestrian on a crosswalk!
Robin lost his heart to a Stardust Looper…..

Your chair is squeaking!
Audrey 2 maybe a little shop of horrors reference? They is the only Audrey 1 and Audrey 2 I know!
Nice.
(Clicking on the various time stamps and hearing that little synth intro again and again .., well, it gets a bit repetitious - imho)
well it does, if you do that

If it weren't for you, I'd have no idea what is going on! Can't thank you enough.
