I used to work at a diptyque and we would give out those votive candles and larger sample sprays for free all the time. A nice luxury experience but also low key a scam for that price? Lol
@@heather1980 mostly with purchase! For example if someone was showing interest in a certain perfume but ended up buying something else, we’d often give them the large sample sprays to take and see if they like it. But there were times we did just simply give them to people as well
I know people say this all the time on the internet about youtubers and influencers but i genuinely feel like you are a nice person and I wish you all the happiness in the world, p.s love your advent calendar videos :)
Agree! Here in the subtropics it comes across as mysterious and heady in a vintage way. I actually love it for summer evenings - it has that slightly stinky thing going on that reminds me of flowers cooling in the night air after a hot day.
Thanks Lauren! This was fun. You know, I just saw a review of the $5,400 Dior calendar. It was mostly fragrance and when she added up the items, they came to $3,400ish! So the calendar was.almost $2k overpriced😲Some of these calendars are definitely not a value but for experience only.
Eau Duelle is my favorite scent from Diptyque (I prefer the EDT slightly but I also like the EDP). L'Ombre Dans Leau is also a favorite of mine though lol! It's really lovely in spring and summer. Its kind of the perfume version of the Bais candle. I agree that the Jo Malone calendar is a little better than this one, but I am a big fan of both houses.
I find that I always have to let diptyque fragrances dry down to get a true feeling for them. Tam dao is so addictive but the initial spray can be a lot lol
I love the look today. It’s so soft and pretty. It’s a look that I would love to recreate for myself. I don’t use many scents because I get headaches, but I love watching your videos, so here I am on your other channel!
EAU DUELLE EAU DE TOILETTE i bought for my birthday for 2023. IM AM SO SATISFIED AS Vanilla lovers. Very earthy vanila and i love it so much, i might buy the EDP next. Since this is my 1st Diptique perfume,HOPE U Can buy em next
Idk Lauren, I think you might have sold me on this calendar for next year! I don't mind that the value isn't what it could be, but the exploration aspect definitely appeals to me! It also helps that I love votives and perfume minis!
Lauren I have really enjoyed your advent calendar series. For this one I 😂 with the one perfume that went from musty basement to dog food to ooooo… I’m excited to try this 😅. Thanks for the entertainment
Haha, "pomander" was a sneaky one, you just say it how it looks (like "Evander" or "salamander") because it's actually an English word! They are those Victorian-style preserved orange ornaments pierced with cloves, a lovely festive and nostalgic scent. Your reaction to L'Ombre dans l'Eau was funny! I see it as one of the most prestigious Diptyque scents because it was one of Lauren Bacall's signature scents
Thank you!! I believe it’s the ColourPop Shadow Stix in Socialite and then I topped it with on the the sparkly topper shades from the Patrick Ta Holiday Palette but I feel like any sheet wet shine sparkle shadow would give a similar effect! 😊❤️
I’m curious on the perfume boxes some are white and some are black. Is there a difference in them? You are so lucky to be able to buy all these boxes. I’m not sure if I’d ever buy one because I rather pick out something I really want for that cost. Thank you for doing these.👍🏻💓
@@laurenmaefragrance well to be fair, the 10ml travel sizes we sold were in like a metal case..but idk how much value that was adding because they were kind of flimsy haha i’m really loving the Advent calendar series btw🥰
If you want to slightly increase your French pronunciation knowledge, the "é" makes an "ay" sound, like in "thé noir," so it would be more like "min-tay" or "men-tay" (not 100% sure as I only have an American high school level of French lmao)
Diptyque seems kinda sheisty and overpriced. Their soaps and lotions smell nice but the price is silly for the size. The least they could do is make the bottles a bit bigger.
Baies is my favorite Diptyque scent!

This is what I secretly think about every calendar, lol!
For free with purchase? Or as samples to try before you buy?

In a way, your advent calendar videos are an advent calendar in themselves 😂 I love watching these every day

I love the organized photo of everything together
Haha setting that up was very satisfying!!

Was it Mia maples? Love her
@@jklroxmysox111Yes!
That’s wild ! I got a Dior privee mini set and it’s like 14 fragrances for $300 or less , at least a couple years ago it was :/
if you’re looking for content ideas, can you elaborate on solid perfumes? i would love to hear your opinion about them!
I really want to try the leau papier one . I love the regular perfume
I was so excited for another calendar, I didn’t see it was Diptyque! Mmmm, so bougie and i love it!
Wait I’m going back on the channel in honor of advent szn, your look in this vid is 10/10
Definitely feel like they should give a way better value than what was provided to justify the price
Watched a bunch of your unboxings last year…it’s now 2024 and I’m ready for this years collection of unboxing videos 🎈

I love green scents for work. I particularly like whatever leafy thing with lemon when I’m behind the bar.
Oh my gosh, these advent calendars you present are sooo fun- weeeee!

I love that you do these fragrance calendars, so much fun.
Are you going to review Tom fords vanilla sex?
I used to hate Tam Dao when I first tried it and now it's my signature scent! Its a meditative scent very relaxing and mysterious.
It’s such a lovely scent! And I love that Lauren described it as a basement, it is very magic on the skin ✨
Idk Lauren, I think you might have sold me on this calendar for next year! I don't mind that the value isn't what it could be, but the exploration aspect definitely appeals to me! It also helps that I love votives and perfume minis!
Ilio is such an underrated scent from diptyque! Highly recommend ❤
I love Tam Dao, one of my favorite unisex scents

Nice video! I love this brand! Very luxury! Enjoy the beautiful items!
I would love to see a post review of this box to know what you ended up liking ♥️
Fancy gal! I love it ❤
Been waiting for this one!!!
Funny because I just smelled everything they had at the airport, and l'ombre dans l'eau smelled like a nice wearable rose to me.
I recommend trying the Armani prive Santal Dan sha perfume and the serge lutens santal majuscule 😍😍
Thank you!! I will add those to my list to try! 😊
Jo Malone seems better value with 15 perfumes in it and the candles look better size. Lovely to see unboxing video of it

Diptyque is a house that I want to like, but when I'm honest with myself...I just don't. 😊
There are a few scent s I really like but I understand what you are saying! A lot of the most popular releases I have struggled with!
Love your videos. By chance do you remember what is on your eyes. Love that eyeshadow.
Thank you!! I believe it’s the ColourPop Shadow Stix in Socialite and then I topped it with on the the sparkly topper shades from the Patrick Ta Holiday Palette but I feel like any sheet wet shine sparkle shadow would give a similar effect! 😊❤️
Since having COVID I have to try EVERY fragrance on my skin before I buy it. My body chemistry will make 80% of what I like turn rancid on me now.🥴

Edt vs Edp the black ones are Edp
Yes the black boxes are edp which are a stronger concentration and the white boxes are an edt which is lighter! 😊❤️
Not one full size product 😮 Day 25 should’ve been the full size candle at the very least!
I used to work in Diptyque and they sell 10ml travel bottles of the Eau de parfum for £95 (not sure the amount in dollars)
Omg well at those prices the fragrances are a way better value than I calculated!!
@@laurenmaefragrance well to be fair, the 10ml travel sizes we sold were in like a metal case..but idk how much value that was adding because they were kind of flimsy haha i’m really loving the Advent calendar series btw🥰
Charging for GWP- even at the sample sale price of £190 I felt ripped off 😅
Does anyone know whether the small candles have the sane scent throw?
Do Son for the win
If they had fragrances instead of the hand creams I would say it is definitely worth it. The hand creams were disappointing.
💕💕💕💕
Watching you open day 25 was so disappointing for me-I was hoping it was an actual perfume bottle
I like all things smell good. I think it is a really fun calendar for the experience. Enjoy. Have a great week ❌️ ⭕️
not sure if you’ve seen them yet but would love to hear your thoughts on the new native girl scout cookie scents🤎🍪
Yipee❤❤ bougie you, poor me 😂😂
those hand wash and lotion samples were soooo small…pretty disappointing

2 more pronunciations that are common:
"eau" = "oh" (like in eau)
"oi" = "wah" (like in toilette)
Hope this helps! :)
Diptyque seems kinda sheisty and overpriced. Their soaps and lotions smell nice but the price is silly for the size. The least they could do is make the bottles a bit bigger.
Compare with the Jo malone one, this one didn't give the value.
Tomato leaf??? I laughed so hard!
this calendar is not my favourite
Obviously the calendar content must do well... But tbh it makes me want to unsubscribe :(
