The 24-kilometer-long Rail Corridor extends northwest from the old Tanjong Pagar Railway Station in the southern part of the island to Woodlands, full of historical charm and natural beauty. Along the Rail Corridor, there are many entry and exit points, and we design our walking routes based on factors such as attractions and road conditions.
There will be plenty of room to walk, jog and cycle, with activity points and public spaces that easily connect homes, schools and businesses. With its sheer length and reach, the Rail Corridor is going to be a highly unique and inclusive public space that can accommodate a wide variety of activities. Take in the myriad of authentic natural landscapes, which have been left undisturbed through the redevelopment work on the area.
There’s also plenty of history found there - the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station and Bukit Timah Railway Station have been gazetted as a National Monument and conserved building respectively, while two steel truss bridges spanning Bukit Timah Road and Dunearn Road, as well as Upper Bukit Timah Road, have also been gazetted as conserved structures.
