Hello bro! Nice video, but you explained the concept(Example) wrongly. Roughly in the 6-7 min part of the video. when the distance(r) is more the moment of inertia is 'high' and vice versa (i.e) directly proportional. Plz, listen to it once! Thx.

Hello, your statement at 6:53 relation of moment of inertia with distance from reference axis is not correct. Please do correct it before it reaches many students as it could result in wrong understanding of concepts for students. Please don't get offended, just take it as a positive criticism.

No sir your wrong with concept because MOI increases with distance increases from center axis.because higher distance seeks higher torque to rotate the object ie high inertia occurs to rotate it

You are doing a great job at helping others students out by sharing your knowledge at the youtube platform. I truly appreciate that. But the thing is I believe you can do more in taking lessons to deeper level. I feel like you're not stepping out of the book level. We know moment of inertia is MR2... but why has to be the case? Yes with daily life experience I know, when I rotate a mass that is at low radius, i feel like i rotate it with ease and at mass with higher radius, its otherwise and my intuition agrees with that, but i feel your job as a teacher should be to explain why we feel easier in one case and not in other. Not just to end with the reason saying' This is because moment of inertia'.This may make students convinced momentarily, but also prone to raise doubts further. And first of, moment is not motion and inertia doesn't mean rest. Moment means 'rotation aspect' and inertia means 'inability to resist motion'. That being said, when two bodies rotate at say 10cm radius and 30cm respectively, we know that one rotating at 10cm radius and other at 30 cm radius have same angular velocity but DIFFERENT LINEAR VELOCITY. I stress on this point so much, because due to this different linear velocity at different radii, we had the need to bring a new term 'Moment of inertia'. Because just this 'inertia' term didn't serve justice in explaining the diff MI we experience at diff radius because Mass is same at all radii, and inertia only deals with mass in translatory motion. But moment of inertia deals with both mass and radius. Now lets take two masses say 5kg and 2kg and we have to accelerate both by 1m/s2 . Now the force needed for 5kg body is 5N and 2kg body is 2N, the thing is in changing its position from rest to motion by increasing its velocity to 1m/s in 1 sec, both body need different forces!!Do you acknowledge something here!! To change its motion by same amount, two bodies need different forces, thus this 'mass term' can defined as force needed for a body to accelerate it by 1m/s2, which turns out to be 5kg in this case , so mass is not just amount of matter contained in it, we have to perceive it in diff angle here, it is the amount of force required to accelerate this body by 1m/s2 and also this amount is called as inertial mass. Now had it been the same mass both of 5 kg instead of 5kg and 2kg, the force would've been the same, thus meaning that it has the same 'inertial mass/inertia' to change its position from rest to motion by accelerating with 1m/s2. 2kg mass has less inertia, meaning it needs less force for it to accelerate by the same value 1m/s2.This is the way to understand inertia. Now what's so special about 'Moment of inertia or Rotational inertia (i would like to call it rotational inertia because that's makes intuitive sense) from mere INERTIA?See,I believe you know that at diff radii, a particle of same mass has diff velocity but same angular velocity, so when rotating these two bodies of mass M at diff radii about an axis, with same angular velocity, the one at higher radius need to travel large arc/distance in the same time as the one at smaller radius which only have to travel smaller arc at the same time for the same angular velocity, having diff MI for same mass at diff radii.Just explore why and how of every phenomenon of physics until you get the satisfaction from the right source. I know this is a long answer, but I always felt like venting this out because i feel like you have potential to go higher than this , also very less are the people who teach in Tamil here ,making you a constant source of help for many tamilians here.I hope you consider my concern:)
