LOVE, love love, your beautiful videos. My husband and I traveled and RVed back in 2009. He has dementia now and we were told to get him in a consistent environment. Love traveling with you and your beautiful dogs. we also have a chocolate and black lab. They enjoyed the adventure too. I look forward to your postings and reliving the Grand Adventure. I miss those days so very much.
I have traveled all over the world...Peru, India, Spain, Mexico and could go on and on but there is nothing I want to do more than follow you around in the RV...you find the BEST boondocking spots and we're taking you up on most of them so thanks for the tips :) Love your show. This is what folks should be watching...
Along with your product reviews & info, this is what, in my mind, makes your channel so interesting for me. Your site reviews are second to none. Are you sure you're no a travel agent??? LOL, you're poorly paid, if you are. Utah is one of the few states we have not visited yet, but hope to remedy that this summer. Thank you again.
We are so blessded in Utah I tell you. Can't wait for summer for crying out lound with the kind of crazy weather we experencing lately. Just got my trailer and the Uinta Mountains is definatly on my top list.
Traveled across the beautiful Mirror Lake Hwy twice, in 2013 and 2015, in my truck camper. Stayed at USFS East Fork Bear River CG, USFS Stillwater CG and a boondocking spot near there. Incredible view at the S end of the hwy before it drops down in elevation. Hope to get back in that area soon. Keep up your great videos!
Tom & Stacie, maybe not Lyman or Whitney, but there are lots, lots of easily accessible Forest Service campgrounds right along UT-150 with equally gorgeous views. You'd have no issue with those at all, other than some long grades on UT-150.
Thank you! Yeah, they feature rather prominently in this one as the Uintas are a great place to take them hiking, for unlike the Wasatch Mountains near Salt Lake City there are no watershed restrictions on bringing dogs.
This actually saddens me. Having grown up as this being my backyard, it is incredible how busy and crowded the Uintas have become. I knew they would be 'discoverd' soon enough, but I miss the solitude they once offered. Really that is true of the State. Everything is packed now.
Brett, you have no idea how much we sympathize. A business decision on multi-resort season passes this year means that both Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons skiing has become substantially busier, just in the past year. Now, that's not to say that it wasn't getting busier before that, it just accelerated the rate of growth. However, I'm not a native Utahan, and I don't want to be "that guy" who insists on slamming the door shut behind him. And I can't say that I've really seen a marked increase in visitation to the Uintas in the 15 years that I've been in Utah. Places like Whitney Reservoir are going to be busy because it's one of the few lakefront spots along the Mirror Lake Highway where you can actually get an RV into and boondock. However, grab a backpack and head for Naturalist Basin, etc., and it's still dead quiet. Thanks for your comment!
Oh, I still have a few back country secrets in the Uinta's! I also love pulling the trailer to camp, so yes, I'm part of the congestion...I was fortunate to bag all of the peaks in the Wasatch in the 90's and early 2000's. I live less than 5 minutes from both BCC and LCC. I can honestly say I haven't been up either in 10 years because of the crowds. Hiking a mile up the road just to get to a trailhead now! Anyway, thanks for allowing me to vent. Your video of the Uintas is well done. I think you did a great job capturing what they're about.
This video was posted 3 years ago. Since that time, starting with all the new covid campers, the Uintas have been overrun. It's sad how crowded it has suddenly become. It's even sadder that hordes of people have now started visiting the Uintas that have no respect for nature. They leave trash and garbage all over the place, drive their ATVs in undesignated areas, destroying vegetation that will take 20 years to recover. It has become a total sh*tshow. As someone who has grown up hiking the Uintas, I am deeply saddened.
@@SouEuIAm couldn't agree more with you. My favorite 'the mountains are calling' and 'mountains please' people are just disrespectful of what they claim they love. Was much less a problem 20 years ago.
Love that area. I was a little concerned that this episode would highlight one of my favorite spots, but you stuck the safe spots. For that I owe you a beer! Travel safe!
Great video!! My wife and I are traveling from AZ up to southern Montana for two weeks this summer. Will definitely have to stop in this area, thanks for sharing!!
Mountains are probably my favourite kind of getaway and over there you have so many , further more it’s hard to think you can boondock at such a high altitude One day I would love the opportunity to do this thanks

long time listener, first time caller. Your video production skills have gotten really pro Marc. Fantastic info, editing and footage. I enjoy watching these on a large screen monitor ! Keep up the good work, hope to see you around the bend some time soon.
Hey Marc. Great film some really good photos. Love the ones of the Dogs. Just catching up been busy filming for our channel. Loved this as always. Phil & Juliet
That is some beautiful summer camping. I am glad to have a chance to see it. The area does look isolated so it looks like some driving is required to refuel. It reminds me of the White Mountains in Arizona which Is also around 9,000 feet.
Bruce, there's plenty of fuel in either Kamas, UT or Evanston, WY, about 40 miles in either direction from the heart of the Mirror Lake Highway. If you're heading to Lyman Lake your best refuel bet is in Mountain View, WY. We always top off at one of those, depending on where we're heading, and have no issues getting in and out.
Beautiful footage! 9 miles of moderately rough road?! Have you done anything to your trailer to help it sustain such a path? Our truck and travel trailer is about the same size as yours.
We plan to head up there on the eastern side up 191 and into Flaming Gorge this summer. I understand there are some excellent camping spots on the reservoir there. But seeing this we may divert on the way into this area.
@@AmericanWanderers I just had to look up 530 to see which road you meant. Wrong side of the lake! The western shore gets much busier, especially down near Manila, due to its better proximity to SLC. It's 90 minutes closer.
Your senior access pass covers it. Mosquitoes and flies are absolutely voracious for a two-week period each year. It's dependent on the timing of the snow melt, usually sometime late June or so. Other than that two-week period it's not that bad at all.

It depends on where you go in the Uintas, Ken. There are many sites along the Mirror Lake Highway (UT-150) that are accessible by any type of vehicle.

how is the wildlife there bears, deer, goats, or birds of pray. i am a traveling photographer and always looking for new places to shoot wildlife.
