You don't need the needle valve to control your flame, replace the regulator with a 0-5 PSI adjustable regulator, and NEVER use teflon tape as it will melt and cause a fire. The easy way is to unscrew the factory regulator from the factory hose and install the adjustable regulator in it's place. You will not believe the amount of flame control you will have. My factory regulator died a while back, and I swapped it out with an adjustable I already had. I wish I would have done this years ago. Good Luck!

I have a master built propane pro smoker even when the regulator dial is at the lowest setting the temperature still climbs to 380 degrees. By you changing to a 0-5 PSI adjustable regulator did you see that much better control of the flame? Thank You

Great video. Thanks for sharing! Was wondering what the lowest temperature you can get with this needle valve? I'm shooting for 150-170. Is that possible with this needle valve? Thanks!

Kris Waters really appreciate the comment! I no longer have this in my arsenal but I think it would go that low, yes.

Thank you for watching! This smoker takes a lot of energy to produce heat. Cold weather and wind can have a real effect on it.

As 40 year first class gas fitter. Please don’t follow any of this. It’s wrong in so many ways. From using Teflon tape on a compression fitting to changing the required 11” WC. Etc etc
