The perception I get is that Nandor genuinely cares about Guillermo, and deeply too, but being centuries old just fucks with the ability to fully feel or express that. When your immortal almost everything and everyone feels fleeting and trivial, hence why thinking it's only been 2 years when it's actually 10 was extremely hurtful to Guillermo but to Nandor it's like being off by a week. (I'm only on season 2 btw)
I think the case could be made that Nandor doesn't turn Guillermo into a vampire because he knows Guillermo couldn't actually handle it. When vampires turn people, it's typically based on a whim and seeing a need in that person. Like how Nadja feels sorry for that girl being picked on. It's a common aspect in a lot of vampire movies. Like how in Interview with a Vampire, Lestat turns the Louis into a vampire because he wants a companion and Louis is already sick and dying anyways. Or like how they turn the girl when she was clearly going to die of the plague. Vampires typically turn people when a situation catches their eye and it involves tragedy. Guillermo doesn't meet that criteria. The problem is he hasn't incentivized Nandor to want to make him a vampire.

In season 3, Nandor admits to Guillermo that he sees vampirism as a curse and so he doesn't want that for Guillermo. And I agree with the previous comments, Nandor was in love with Gail but didn't turn her into a vampire until he absolutely had to. I'm sure Nandor would do the same for Guillermo if he was close to death and there was no choice.

But for me it’s 50/50 with this type of relationship, from what I see in the beginning of season 1 and early parts of season 2 I saw their relationship more of a father/son. Like In the parts where Guillermo left Nandor he starts to realize how much he cares about him, not only helping him round the house, but liking that he’s around. Honestly, that break-up scene is Top Tier Drama! The acting is masterful and so earnest! It was full of character details with the both of them in gestures, expressions and voice! And you could pretty much see the heartbreak happen onscreen! Amazing. Like, even we see Nandor with the same devastated face he made when he found out his homeland no longer existed.
After season 4 I'm convinced SOMETHING will happen. Maybe they become best bros, maybe they get together. Just PLEASE can Nandor turn him into a vampire 😭
I never thought about it until this video 😄 they both are so codependent on each other (not that that is healthy or necessary especially in a relationship) but they both are so effected by eachother when the other is absent, Nandor will always be my favorite!!
Pitty you missed the scene from the trial for Baron's death, where all vampires present (Nadja and Laszlo included) agree to just eat Guillermo and get over it, whereas Nandor protests in the last moment and rather condems himself and those two to die. That was the scene which convinced me there is something more going on between Nandor and Guillermo. On the other hand, I'm a bit afraid about the third season, 'cause there is a big chance to ruin their perfect chemistry by just, IDK, handling their relationship too unnaturally. You know, the dynamics right now is perfect and honestly, I can't imagine what would have to happen to Nandor to just naturally change his attitude towards Guillermo as a mere "not a vampire"; nor can I imagine him turning Guillermo, because then what? What reason would he have to stay or the other inhabitants of the house to let him stay?
The actors Have talked a little about the chemistry between Nandor and Guillermo. Also if you haven't seen the BeforeTheShadows episode with Kayvan Novak omfg you have it's perfect and amazing, and the interview at the end is wonderful.

these character are definitely tied with each other. I hope their amazing character arc improves as they go season to season, whether they just become platonic (friends, allies, or sort of a father/son relationship) or romantic. Good writing is really important. I get a Selina/Gary Veep vibe from them but Guillermo is no Gary. My fear is that they'll dumbify Nandor further and I would hate that since he is my fave.

Personally, I think they have little regard for humans (you know, their lunch) and the familiars we have seen have been especially weak willed , gullible, and disposable. But for me it’s 50/50 with this type of relationship, from what I see in the beginning of season 1 and early parts of season 2 I saw their relationship more of a father/son. But near the end of season 2 I can see how their might be a bit more than a father/son (or maybe like brothers?) relationship. Like In the parts where Guillermo left Nandor he starts to realize how much he cares about him, not only helping him round the house, but liking that he’s around. And all the care he has for Guillermo can maybe turn into love.
But anyways if Guillermo does turn out to be his love interest in the show I will love to see how their relationship turns out but if they don’t I don’t mind either and like to see how their relationship goes after finding out that he’s a vampire slayer

Honestly, that break-up scene is Top Tier Drama!
The acting is masterful and so earnest! It was full of character details with the both of them in gestures, expressions and voice!

Pitty you missed the scene from the trial for Baron's death, where all vampires present (Nadja and Laszlo included) agree to just eat Guillermo and get over it, whereas Nandor protests in the last moment and rather condems himself and those two to die. That was the scene which convinced me there is something more going on between Nandor and Guillermo.
On the other hand, I'm a bit afraid about the third season, 'cause there is a big chance to ruin their perfect chemistry by just, IDK, handling their relationship too unnaturally. You know, the dynamics right now is perfect and honestly, I can't imagine what would have to happen to Nandor to just naturally change his attitude towards Guillermo as a mere "not a vampire"; nor can I imagine him turning Guillermo, because then what? What reason would he have to stay or the other inhabitants of the house to let him stay?
Also, I just love the way Nandor voices his appreciation for Guillermo at 6:43

these character are definitely tied with each other. I hope their amazing character arc improves as they go season to season, whether they just become platonic (friends, allies, or sort of a father/son relationship) or romantic. Good writing is really important. I get a Selina/Gary Veep vibe from them but Guillermo is no Gary. My fear is that they'll dumbify Nandor further and I would hate that since he is my fave.

Personally, I think they have little regard for humans (you know, their lunch) and the familiars we have seen have been especially weak willed , gullible, and disposable. They are seen as useful pets and little more. This is clearly changing with Nandor and Gizmo, so we'll see where that leads, but I see little hope for the typical familiar.
