Only thing I'd add would be a punching holes at the ends of the slits. It's my understanding leather can tear and adding those holes can act like ripstops.
Looks great, but I do have 1 concern. If your laptop has vents on the bottom to draw air in to help cool the electronics, then having it lay on the leather may cause overheating. I thought for a moment and figured that if that is the case, then attach 2 or 3 small squares or rectangles of leather scraps stacked several high to create a raised edge on one side to angle the computer up to allow for air passage. just a thought.....
Love this design Linn, mechanical fasteners tend to bulk areas up, your design is just lovely. I have been thinking of similar style for a small field notes cover. Great video thank you 😀
Nice job with the computer holder, but where do you keep the mouse? I would always be leaving it at the last place I had it and that would end up driving me mad (or madder that I am already that is)
That is a clever design that looks good and works well. If you liked the look of a rectangular flap/mousepad, leather hooks at the corners could fit into very small slits. This would allow the case to be more closed.
Lin. You should punch some small holes at the ends of your slots. Typical 'leatherworking trick' to keep the end from tearing. A 2 or 3 mm hole should be enough. Kudos on the locking flap. Great idea.
Really beautiful work, Linn! Really nice! 😃 How about something to be able to carry it around? Something you can put and remove from it... You know? Sorry, my English isn't that good to explain. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Awesome project, simple and so effective! I use a desktop but always struggling with a mouse pad and am now immediately going to check my leather stash :-D
Buen trabajo.
taking a page from holster and saddle leatherwork: maybe lock stitch across the edges of the loop the flap tucks into to prevent stretching or continue the stitching to the edge seam for additional strength as well
I will link U to my own video...soon. the design is quite good and functional enough. U however didn't pay much mind to finesse and esthetics...but it is sturdy and good and functional...Ur design that is.
The simplicity makes it so special
I love the on-the-fly design work. Adaptation at it's finest. :)
Great video Darbin! Especially liked the prototyping iteration that you showed with the paper templates. 📃
A very handsome design! Love the dual closure flap/mouse pad. I will be making one like it sometime, thanks!

congratulations, practical and beautiful bag
That's a nice leather idea made beautifully Linn , love the white coat it's better than the old white lab coat you used to wear .

The built-in sleeve was also shown on Mr. Build it. That's another great channel.
I always love your leatherwork vids
Beautifully done.
I didn't even watch yet. The concept is so simple and yet it's a "why didn't I think of that".

Neat design and very enjoyable video!
Fantastic idea! I happen to have the exact same laptop and wanted something slim but funcitonal, I might try and do something similar for mine!
Thanks for giving this idea

what about a mouse pouch?

Cool, leather feels a lot nicer than so many junky mousepads, right?!

Good for you, well done!
Great Job!!!! Thank You!!!!👍😎
Soundtrack name at the beginning of the video?
what about storage for the mouse?
Some new Logitech mouse do not need a mouse pad. They work on almost any surface, even on glass. And that's right as I have a Logitech MX Master 3.
It would be nice if sometime you could do a video on the software you use for video editing. I would find that very interesting.
