Deck Skirting and Shed Installation at the Project House!

- It feels like it's been forever since we've brought you guys along for a new undertaking at the project house! Ted and I have definitely been busy there, despite not filming any of the little things we've been doing. But this was a bigger project, so we thought.. why not take you along for this one!
It definitely feels good to give the back yard a little face lift, finish off the deck skirting, and of course the biggest blessing was Patiowell sending us the perfect shed for back there to store snow shovels, the grill, lawnmower, snowblower and of course, a secure place for our guests to store their road and mountain bikes! The kids even put together a bike stand for guests to clean and do maintenance on their bikes if they need to! We already have several bookings where the guests have mentioned coming up to bike along the Mesabi Trail, so we are so excited to be able to offer this amenity to them and any mountain bikers riding Giants Ridge and Redhead!

Good morning Jenna and Ted 🌲 That was a real blessing for Patiowell to step up and offer you that shed. It was perfect for what you had planned over at the project house. It was nice to see Finley and CJ and with their help you two knocked out that upgrade in short order. It turned out beautifully and looks great. That community access yard area for all those resources is sure nice to have available to you. Jenna, nice job as usual on the video. I enjoyed all the random scenes you put throughout. I just can't get enough of the lake, especially when it's calm out and glassy surfaced - just beautiful. That was a fat Robin, probably hoping you'd flush out some worms for them in the process of digging and planting that area 🙂 The kids are sure growing and it's nice to follow along with them in that process. Good Morning, Larry! Hope you're doing well! Yes, it certainly was a big blessing for them to send us the shed, and we are so thankful! The kids, once again, were amazing with helping out! They've helped assemble so many things... they're basically pros! The sand pit is a huge benefit for those of us in the area and we're so glad we're able to use it for free!
Lol yes there are so many birds in town! Last summer there were baby robins in a nest in that tree!
And the lake.. it never gets old. We love it and are anxiously waiting to get out on it... hopefully soon once it stops raining!

It’s not hard to find good people. Most are good, positive people. But watching TV only highlights the bad. You rarely if NEVER see a newscast with only positive spins. Getting that shed was one of those miracles 😊. Just like finding that deck material was. Shed looks great. Love the landscaping. That sand pit is awesome. Where you live is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes every time. I long for the blessing of such a place I can call my own.

We are definitely by no means landscapers, but we made it work! Sticking to our Saturday morning routine ended up being just a little too hard to juggle with all the kids sporting activities, Teds job and just life in general. Tip on cutting that sheeting. Put your circular saw blade on backwards and cut it. Seen that on a show before.
We have done that before and it does work great!
We saw someone use the utility knife on TH-cam and wanted to give that a try!

Helmet young lady helmet I worked with far too many brain injury patients before I left the field. We had mini bikes and go carts snowmobiles and we were always made to wear helmets. My one cousin didn't and took a little fall got up walked it off and next morning could wake him 😢 Like the deck skirting looks really good and that flower bed edging pretty cool stuff
😖😣 I know we need to be better at enforcing the helmet rule! We know all too well that accidents can happen to anyone! We will do better!
Our only concerned about the bed edging, is will it withstand a weed whacker/trimmer ? 🫣 I guess only time will tell!

@@TheLiFeInPines I am glad your not upset that I threw that out there. I have seen a lot in the 20 years I work in trauma,woundcare as well as tbi and spinal cord injuries. I got kids and myself have done the no helmet from time to time even on open road in Florida so I probably had no right but I don't do it anymore and I worry when I see it. Yeah I get the weed whacker thing they do tend to tear into edging but it looks so nice with that skirting.
We knew when we posted it that we would get people concerned! We appreciate that you care! CJ is used to wearing helmets from his Mountain Biking but Finley is being a rebel! 🫣 We will work on her! ❤️

The logs are stack up in that sand pit
waiting for road restrictions to come off. The area around the sandpit got logged. Once all the frost is out of the ground, the loggers will be able to start hauling again!

Ted initiating the chicken into builders' habits is smart... now just teach her to put the pencil back where she found it, otherwise, she'll start hoarding tools. An organised chicken is an efficient chicken.

Opener is May 11! We don’t always do the best on opener, but Ted and CJ are going up to the BWCA the following weekend and will 100% be bringing back walleye filets! 🤤
