    I run two of these on my 40 gallon breeder mixed reef and they grow sps, lps, and soft corals as good as and ai prime. Obviously water parameters and consistency is key to success as well, these lights are absolutely amazing👍

      Glad the video helped you. For the price it is a solid light. The multi puck design helps with shadowing being it has multiple points of light. The nano challenge was all under the Aqua knight light. So it deffinately works with the right size tank. Best of luck with it.

    I can't thank you enough for making this video. I have this light, no PAR meter, and am trying to find best setting/location for my long tentacle anemone. He's in the sand, and I wanted to make sure he wasn't getting too much/not enough light. Thanks so much.

    I bought this light over a year ago to go into my 14g bio cube. I mounted into the hood about 3" over the water and it has been great so far. I couldn't recommend this enough for a nano tank. I have montiporas busting with color it's crazy. Only draw back is you have to manually work the light with its 2 buttons. The buttons don't always reply to your press (mabey just mine). But for the price can't beat it.

    I been running this on my 32 biocube been growing gonapora, Galicia, frogspawn, hammers, elegance coral it absolutely is 💯 percent a great light all these other expensive stuff just makes there par levels so high you need to keep them either at 50 percent or hang them Hella high. If your looking for something that is legit and will grow coral this is it. Also it hits the water and strait shimmers it so dope like it's a triple AAA in my book

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im going to do a video of what I did and am using for the tank. It will be done soon. I did replace the pump with a cobalt mj900 for over 200 gph flow vs the 93 gph with the pump that it came with making so I dont need a powerhead and i can save some space in the display tank. Blues at 100% and whites from high down 6 to 7 clicks . kinda like a 12 k look.

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the review. Always wondered how good this light actually was. I have it over a 6.25g petco tank which I love. Still cycling but I plan on taking and chance and transferring my two Picasso’s over with some RBTA & srbta from a nanocube. They are currently under leds. I hope this aqua night should be good enough for the nems. It’s a shorter tank thanks yours. Crossing my fingers

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Khoa Dao , it should be perfect for it. I also have a red bubble tip and I have it on an island in my 220. And it's getting hit with about 100 PAR. I.had it for almost a year now and it Colored up and is growing. It also hasn't moved 👍. blues at 100% and the whites clicked down 7 times i was getting over 100 PAR with this light. in a smaller tank it might be closer to 120 to 150 par. Best of luck don't forget all leds are not the same and use caution when getting it use to the new lights. If it stays small and closed a few days lower the lights a little at a time wait give it about a day to open. Once it opens slowly raise them over the course of a few weeks to a month.

    ive had 3 different "versions" of this light sent to me. all different power cords, one even had a green led instead of royal blue and was sent back. One broke at 45 days of use, the touch controls stopped working. so 2 out of 3 lights purchased on amazon were sent back or broke right after return date. Corals do grow under this light though but it is a cheap china made light with a short life span, you might get lucky and get one that lasts forever.

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LionsLife_ , I hope I did. It's been 8 months and going strong. Sorry about the bad experience you had with yours I would be upset too. Did you order it when it was new to the market? Maybe I got a newer design?

    • @ChefCooksAlotYT
      @ChefCooksAlotYT 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ordered all 3 from the hipagero seller on amazon and they sent me 3 different lights. My gut says tons of companies bought this from the same company in china, and they refurbish then resell as they are returned etc... still a good light to start off, looking at AI primes or mic mol at the moment.

  • @marcusanderson6131

    I bought this light recently. My concern is the aluminum bracket is partially submerged in water in my evo 13.5 and worry a little bit about corrosion and dissolved aluminum in the water. I know it's painted, but that doesn't seem like it would be a very reliable barrier.

    I'd like to ask a question about the model you received. I also purchased a Hipargero, received it today. In your description of the test, you noted 5 blue, and 1 violet. On Amazon, Hipargero currently only lists the light at having Royal blue, blue and white. No violet. It seems to be only a 3 color variant, not the normal 4 color A029 that I've seen. Was yours an earlier delivery?
    I just noticed this when mine came today, and it will be going back tomorrow. I purchased an A029 from Premium Aquatics for $7 more, but for 7 bucks its worth the 4th color.
    I've seen the Spectra Aquanight being relabeled a few times over, but I think people now will be buying this light not realizing that it only has 3 colors from Hipargero.

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick Worthington , I purchessed the ligjt about 1 month ago. I know there are other name brands out there that look exactly the same. I wasn't aware of the different led patterns. This dosent surprise me though. The black boxes on amazon all seem to have different led setups as well. ( Mars aqua, light time tunnel.) you are right though the $7 dollars more for the violet led IS worth it. If it helps the lights has 3 sets of lights on mine. From left to right is. 2 blue and 1 white. Middle is 1 blue ,1 violet 1, 1 white. right is 2 blue ,and 1 white. Making a total Of 3 white, 5 blue and 1 violet. Hope that helps. Feel free to write back.

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rick Worthington , I just looked at my box and directions because you have me thinking now.. It shows that there IS ROYAL BLUE AND A CREE BLUE. The left has 1white and 2 ROYAL BLUE, the middle has 1 white, 1 CREE BLUE, 1 VIOLET. And the right has 2 ROYAL BLUE and 1 white. so the violet is in there. Violet is an important part of the spectrum which helps in coral growth. That is an important find on your part. Thanks for letting me know about the different led patterns. I can't find a manufacture date on this light which would let me know if its an older or newer version.

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rick Worthington , sorry for the multi response but did you happen to look at the manual or turn the ligt on and look? Sometimes the decriptions are off a bit on amazon. They once had a mj900 marked as 15 oz. But the next size up was mj1200. So i ordered it and got the mj900. So maybe a typo? Unless you looked at it on and know for sure.

    • @rickworthington3062
      @rickworthington3062 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the replies. I'll get to the details in just a second. Just to clarify what this light is, it is a Spectra Aqua Knight. I'm guessing that Sprectra is doing business in the usa under Hipargero now, or maybe because the product has been superceded by a new model (on the Spectra website it lists the new version of this light as the M029, and that its 27 watts now).
      It certainly is a genuine Spectra light. Same box, same designs, etc. It used to be called a A029 plus. Which is why when the box came in and was printed A029, coupled with the description saying only 3 colors my butt got puckered thinking I bought a model that was a legit spectra light, but lacking the violet so it was being sold to match a lower price under the Hipargero name ( Lincoln vs Ford).
      Example: check out premium aquatics review of this light.
      th-cam.com/video/rpcykHjPFMA/w-d-xo.html
      box says a029 plus.

      I was reading the description at Amazon those 3 colors are describing the Cree LEDs. The uv led is made by epiled. That may be the misunderstanding. Buy in the description it also said the light was suitable for platypus lol so who knows. Looking at my light I definitely see 4 different colored LEDs. And the manual in the box shows 4 as well.

      If I remember correctly, he swapped ut for something else. I will say it's been growing my coral good in my nuvo 10. Have had it for 6 months already and its growing my coral great. Based on the video tho it might not be strong enough for deep tanks. jr.turtle120701 , it depends on what type of corals you plan on keeping in it. I would put the sps corals in the middle under the light and corals like zoas, brains, leptos on the sides that don't need so much light. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    • @Emanna81
      @Emanna81  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would look for a different light honestly. This light is more for a 10 gallon or pico tank. You would have to run the light at 100% or close to and put the bubble up mid to high in the tank( and hope it stays there) Running the light at such a high percentage leaves a 10k white Look which makes the coral and anemone appear not as colourful as if they were in a bluer 12k-15k light spectrum.

      J flanman , at that depth I would start to look at the black boxes , S BOXES, or any other name theu go by. Aqua mars etc. But i would recommend thr lightime tunnel black box. They have different. Lenses then the aqua mars and you can get them on amazon. I have one on my 29 bio cube and had great success. Its only $30 more so about $99 This way you can tune in the blues and whites. Im affraid with the aqua knight you will need it at 100% on both channels on a tank that size and will not be happy with the color spectum.

I JUST went to the 3rd click down on the blue and my Lepto seems happier on the bottom but my. Bubble gum Montipora Digitata is still happy and growing just off the bottom and my Acropora millepora is doing great in the middle to the upper portion of the tank. Miguel, I didnt forget about you. Lol I been super busy at work. When I get some time, I have a 29 gallon biocube I use as a QT tank I'll try to get some readings. But I know they don't recommend any deeper then 18 inches. Which means it is probbly stretching the limits so you would have to be smart in placing corals. For $99 you could go with a light time tunnel black box which I have 4 of em for about a year now. They work great and are more then enough for a 29 gallon.

      I would go with a black box. Once you get over 15 gallons( in my opinion) you are stretching with this light. You COULD buy 2 but at that point a black box is about $100.with reefs you would want more of a 12K- 15K Look. (Blue light spectrum) being its 30 gal. You would be forced to run both channels (on 2 units) on or close to 100% giving a white not so pleasing look in the tank. This is just my opinion though, I hope it helps.

      Sergio Reyes , I am not familiar with the tank. I did look it up but couldn't find a top less pic. The mounting bracket for this light is for a rimless tank. You can however put a block under the lip so the clamp can slid over the lip and block to hold onto the tank. So it has more surface area to hold onto and won't wobble.

But as far as the PAR levels go in my 10 gallon I don't see why you would have a problem with a 5 gallon. It would be intense lighting at 100% so be careful not to light shock your corals.
