Lee, I have to hand it to you. There are not very many 30 year old or younger people that appreciate Crosby stills Nash. most younger people would think this music sucks, but watching you and your appreciation for this band makes me proud. You really should have grown up in the late 60s early 70s. you have a great ear for music.
Joni Mitchell was born in the Province of Saskatchewan in Canada, and in the early 1960's attended an Art College in Calgary Alberta Canada, where she met Tommy Chong of what would be the comedy duo of Cheech and Chong, who encouraged her to pursue her musical talents.
I see these old album covers you show, and my eyes sting. As a teen, I sat on the floor of my room, by my small stereo, and learned the lyrics and studied the covers. Haven't heard this in 30 years, yet I remember every word, and sing along again as in my youth. Thank you for that, Lee ❤
One of the few bands where I'm never tempted to skip or fast forward a track. They had a knack of making extremely high quality, catchy, though non commercial music. Wonderful musicians, lyricists and vocalists and their music still sounds as fresh af.
"The Lee Shore" (CSNY) "Homeward Through the Haze" (CSNY) First appeared on the Crosby & Nash album 'Wind on the Water' ("Carry Me," "Bittersweet," "Cowboy of Dreams," "To the Last Whale/Critical Mass/Wind on the Water") "Taken at All" (CSNY version) "As I Come of Age" (CSN) from the album 'Stills' ("Turn Back the Pages," "My Favorite Changes," "First Things First," Neil Young's "New Mama")
I loved this set. Thank you, Gail H! I’ve never known CSN (CSNY) beyond the earliest big hits. (1) Good! I like it. (2) Beautiful. (3) voices ❤️ (4) ❤️ no matter the cost I love this L33 group. How we share our music. Thank you, Lee! ✨
Long time subscriber. Really enjoyed your full listen to this album. I remember listening to this so much when it came out … same year that Steely Dan’s Aja album came out BTW…. And somehow had forgotten how much I loved this. It was a treat to hear it all the way thru once again. Thanks!
One of my favorite albums of all time! CSN. On many of my playlists😊 Crosby produced a Joni album and they dated also briefly. Love in my dreams & shadow captain.
Glad you enjoyed! I had a blast with this album and seeing how they changed in 7 years. A lot happens in 7 years! But they never lost it. This is great.
Now that you have Darkstar in your head, you can now understand why I’d get frustrated by the Deadheads talking about the song Darkstar & no one my age knowing the CSN song in 1995
As the unofficial audiophile in the house, the best sounding song on the album is In my dreams however for me, the story of the album is Stephen Stills acoustic and electric guitar work of course the harmonies are classic CSN this album was recorded at criteria recording studio about 5 miles from where I lived at the time And don’t forget that this was 1977 and disco was the popular spiffy music of the time
Man, I think you're gonna love Manassass; one of the great lesser known albums in the history of rock. Another great listen would be the first 2 solo Graham Nash albums....Songs for Beginners and especially (for me) Wild Tales. Really cool trail of discovery you are on
I bought this album in '77 and didn't really like it very much, except for a few songs. It didn't 'sound' like Deja Vu or their 'maiden' endeavor in '69. As time went on more and more of this one snagged me in. I suppose I grew up along the way somewhat, but when push comes to shove I'm still partial to the two aforementioned.
I am partial to the first two as well but the merits of this album can't be understated. It's definitely different. But it's still a great ride. I'm glad we did it :) now I can finish deja vu!
Stills voice changed overnight from 70 to 71. Too much booze and white powder, I speculate. I missed that beautiful voice he had in the first two CSN(Y) records and Buffalo Springfield, but what's done is done.

Thanks for playing this side because I haven’t heard it for about 30 years and it brings back wonderful memories.
I'm so glad to hear that. Makes me happy to hear people have a blast of nostalgia from these classics :)
Suggestion: Crosby-Nash “Wind On The Water” album.

In 2018 I had the opportunity to see Crosby on one of his last tours and he opened the show with In My Dreams, it was amazing

Let's face it,the whole damn thing is excellent!
For this video, I vote for "In my Dreams" . Yep Cathedral, and Darkstar are the two that stay with me at all times.
Now that you have Darkstar in your head, you can now understand why I’d get frustrated by the Deadheads talking about the song Darkstar & no one my age knowing the CSN song in 1995
I get it. The csn dark star is pure stills poetry. I haven't heard the dead one yet
an amazing album
Just beautiful. Well done, Lee.
In the early 80s Neil Young would bring his ⛵ to the Pacific Northwest, we used to see it on the water, wish it were then again.
I would say I wish it was back then too but then I wouldn't exist so that doesn't make much sense coming from me lol
Love Run from tears. Such a change up. Wasnt expecting it!!
This whole album has been a surprise for me! Only a handful of tracks sound like the older stuff. It's all mostly a new sound! I dig it.
CSNY American Made, not a big album but I think it’s worth a listen.

CSN is always good tunes
Lee. Nash was a superb songwriter. You must check out his solo stuff. PLEASE !!!!!!
Toss up for me first versus last one. Soooo good. The instrumental is 🔥
There's also their 1982 album Daylight Again
Ahhhhh ok. So there is another. I was wondering if that was it...

That's the one! I keep forgetting about songs for beginners. I hope someone requests it lol
That’s cool, I’m not familiar with Nash’s first band.

Sorry, let me amend that, 69 to 70. The live tracks show the difference. I'm excited to hear the 69 live CSNY Neil has been promising recently.
I definitely heard the difference. Still a great voice just a bit more hardened
I think smoking cigarettes took a lot from Still’s voice over the years.
