    Lets be honest here. This is quite common with evolve boards. Ive seen more and more stories like this with evolve boards vs DIY boards. I had the same issues with my GTR, my DIY board has cut out before, and i know exactly why, my stupidity with a custom remote. But with proper components, from reputable companies, ive never had an issue. Ill never buy another evolve board at the inflated RRP they have them at

Interesting thing is that i rode almost 500 miles over several (cold) months on one motor before that one failed!!! Besides, parts are seriously overpriced and outdated!!!

      Reason why gtr boards fail is too small motors, they overheat and after awhile sensors fail and lock the wheel!!! I had those motors running normal on sensorless Vesc (Stormcore 60d)!!! Same thing happened to me with my aftermarket build, sensors died and motor locked! I can run Stormcore sensor or sensorless and after switching to sensorless motors run flawlessly for last 2100 miles! It's not the motor it's the sensors failing and that's why motors lock !!! BTW Stormcore has Hybrid option where is using sensors at lower speeds and run sensorless at high speed which i thinks the best option!!!

    I didn't find the drop down to have any noticeable affect at top speed, in fact I liked the way it hugged the outside of my feet. You are right though, it does corner sharper so people have to be aware of that. I prefer the Hadean to my GTR, and 100% AT wheels all the way, as you may be doing top speed and come up to a change of surface/terrain, and will need the off road tyres

    The first Evolve Board that came out had a single Motor & it threw me off the board after hitting a Rock & I lost my left Elbow replaced with a Carbon Fibre Elbow 10 Years ago, I also lost my EASY Security Job after having taken 6 Months to recover from that accident. In the last Year I’d taken up Electric Skateboarding again & a Week after installing the Bash Guard 2 on my GTR, I went into a Speed Wobble going down a steep hill at 50+ Klm’s then hit a Bump in the Road dislodging the rear Truck to the side throwing me off the Board giving me a Fractured right Shoulder with both of my shoulders & arms shot & a Month off Work at my EASY Carer Job! Both my Arms were in so much Pain for about 3 Weeks. My Carbon GTR will now forever sit on a Stand in the Corner of my Bedroom as a reminder of how Dangerous these things are, never to be used again. I’ll stick to just Walking & driving my Sports Car. Electric Skateboards are Fun but, I’ll just push myself to get the ultimate Adrenaline Rush going Faster & Faster until I have an accident, I do the same thing with Motorbikes so its just safer not to own these things!

    The bamboo gtr is your favourite board? Let me just tell you man...the gtr is a dangerous board. It's a good thing it doesn't go too fast. Wouldn't use it with street wheels cause it's too fast considering it can stop suddenly and without warning. It happens when the ESC overheats. This usually has something to do with the motors. Either a screw falls out (which is common) or if you tighten the belts or if they screwed the motors in wrong, watch the fk out. I was missing a screw in each motor and when my esc overheated it was without warning. Luckily I had slowed down to take a corner but I've talked to people who were launched at full speed and experienced serious injuries.
    Get a higher quality board imo. I use the GTR still but I'm always afraid it will launch me. Got it repaired and LOW AND BEHOLD ANOTHER FUCKING SCREW FELL OUT. What a piece of shit imo. Why do they use such bad hardware? Beyond me. For the price it should be better. The only thing compelling to me is the new remote, since the old one was trash. I'd like a remote that doesn't shatter into a million pieces from a 3 foot drop

Remote was on but unresponsive/ no connection. 2 restarts later it works again, ride home slowly and send back the next day. They slap a new motor controller in it and it's been ok for the last year. (I couldn't return mine it being 6 weeks old in the UK.) So yeah, won't be getting evolve again. That sucks, I have personal saw a friend get thrown off his gtr, locked up and the motor control started smoking, it was only 8 weeks old. My GTR I’ve had for nearly 2 years has been flawless though over 4000 km on it. In Australia the consumer laws say that if you’re product has a major fault(it won’t work at all) you can return it for a refund, they don’t specify a time but with 3 months of purchase they is generally a reasonable amount of time that this would apply.

  • @LayersandCake
    @LayersandCake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Man, lucky it wasn't worse off. I've heard of some pretty extreme horror stories about the hadean and evolve in general.
    For the record, DIY and custom boards are a lot safer especially if you go through high end builders and reputable companies for parts. Definitely not cheaper than production boards but worth the money if you want top end components and don't mind spending the cash.
    I'm a former evolve GTR owner and I ended up ditching the board for a custom rig because of how horrendous evolve was when it came time to honour the warranty. Citing that because I used aftermarket bushings (venom), that the warranty was voided.
    I witnessed one evolve staff member (her name starting with a K and ending in Y) verbally abusing an elderly man who was with his carer asking about a present for his granddaughter. I won't ever deal with them again after that.
    I hope you healed up well and keep riding mate.

      Thanks, I’m getting back into it again. Been out a bit of the last few weeks. Interestingly I got an email from evolve stating “We have discovered a concern with Hadean Bamboo battery cases which requires an immediate physical adjustment. In some situations we have discovered the battery case coming into contact with a component, which has a risk of causing damage resulting in improper operation. Whilst concerns have only been observed on a small minority of boards, all Bamboo Hadean owners must get this battery case adjustment to mitigate the risk before riding your board.” I wonder if that was what happened to my board?

    • @LayersandCake
      @LayersandCake 2 ปีที่แล้ว

No hardware falling out or breaking in the mounts on this puppy. The battery sag is annoying at lower voltages and that's one thing I give mad props to the GTR for, but I'll choose safety every time.

    • @LORFCASTER
      @LORFCASTER 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Nazare supersport is not supposed to have any voltage sag due to using Molicell batteries, the Lonestar supersport has some claims of voltage sag due to using samsung cells at the moment. However there are lots of videos showing proper range achieved on the Lonestar Supersport.... so im not sure what to think at the moment. Maybe just fluke issues with the people that have claimed sag and therefor disappointing range for the Lonestar SS. Comment sections seem to confidently blame the Samsung cells

I reached out to lacroix for support and they told me the battery percentage is not an accurate way to read this battery, gotta look at voltage or something? Idk. Anyways the range on my nazare supersport at least 1.5x what my GTR AT does so it's enough for me, generally speaking. With rare exception. My experience with Evolve versus DIY, Backfire, Koohweel, Boosted, has been one of surprise and pain. Never have I come across so many board releases from one company, with so many problems, particularly the surprise brakes while cruising at speed. This is far too common, even with the latest gtr carbon, 3/3 separate boards could not go an entire year before fucking up in one way or another. The remotes are flimsy and expensive to replace, the magnets that control the throttle break off inside the remote and cause the board to function in ways that are completely unacceptable for the premium price you pay. Personally, I would never ever spend my hard earned money on an evolve skateboard, they are fucking dangerous, unreliable, and expensive.

      @@martinsimpson2231 I'm surprised you'd buy another product from them after that experience man. I've heard too many such issues on the GTR. I got the new phaze remote anyway so at least I don't have to worry about my remote crumbling in my hand, and I figure I'll still ride it, but I'm just not going to really trust it that much...

    How shameful, that’s brutal, and it’s a shame. But it reminds me there’s always a risk when you do that!

      Yeah, it's almost inevitable. I think the thing to keep in mind is where you're riding. If you are on the road in amongst cars it could be pretty serious, and I could have little to do with lack of skill.

    Very sad! I have heard a ton of reports about the Exway Atlas having motor and battery problems not to mention motor lock-ups. Could it be that you crashed the board by your owning doing and now just want to be able to return it?

    • @dailyeskate2113
      @dailyeskate2113  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I did at first think had had simply fallen, and falling off isn’t the reason I returned it. The problem is that as soon as it happened the board would not turn on, power up again so it was unusable. It was at 80% charge, and has no physical damage at all. And the thought of sending a 10 day old product back the the manufacturer and waiting to get it repaired and sent back is crazy, and I will add a problem I sure all esk8 brands probably have to unfortunately deal with to some degree as you mentioned in your comment. So under Australian consumer law you can return a product for refund and reasonable cost incurred for a major failure.(in my case shipping) I still have my GTR for now and my DIY board too.

      Seriously Evolve fans are just laughably embarrassing. Their garbage overpriced board has issues then tries and deflect saying the atlas is having the issues that the Hadyan is actually having. What a tool lol.
      Prediction. evolve is out of business within 3 years. Never learned to Evolve.

    evolve is a disgusting company, worst customer service, shitty failing products... the bamboo boards crack and all boards have cutoff issues. unusable for city cruising where a cutoff and throwoff can mean death by going under a car.
