Modi Government on Backfoot as Parliament Begins? NDA Vs INDIA I Barkha Dutt

The special Parliamentary session of the 18th Lok Sabha will convene on June 24 with the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected MPs, followed by the election of Lok Sabha Speaker on June 26. The Speaker & Deputy Speaker posts seems to be a bone of contention between BJP & Congress. The INDIA Bloc wants NDA ally TDP to take up the post of Speaker, and has challenged that they will field their own candidate if it is given to the BJP.
The three new Criminal laws, ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’, ‘Bharatiya Sakshya Adhinayan’ and ‘Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita’ are set to replace the existing ‘Indian Penal Code’, ‘Indian Evidence Act’ and the ‘Code Of Criminal Procedure’, respectively. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi, urging him to defer implementation of the new criminal laws.
Unlike the 2019 and 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, this time, the ruling BJP failed to cross the majority mark on its own, thus relying on the support from NDA allies, Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP and Nitish Kumar’s JD(U).
With a stronger INDIA Bloc, the opposition is likely to raise a host of issues, and making it a bit difficult for the Modi government to pass laws in the Lower House.

Barkha madam, we have been your huge fans since the NDTV days. However, we are little bit disappointed nowadays the way you are having to accomodate people "masquerading" as analysts but whose loyalities are obvious! Also, quite concerning is the "prominence" given to organizations who have contributed in a big way spreading hatred allover ! People spewing venom are spoken of deferentially etc..Understand that as the head of a channel you have your complusions which the common man is free from! This strong opposition is a blessing for all poor indians who had no voice to force the govt to perform even to basic minimum expectations.
Now opposition should corner this bjp govt from all sides and demand accountability for every single decision and actions needed for our nation to finally start moving ahead, after this big chakajam of the last 10 years.

Dileep Cherian’s dream of challenges to Modi’s leadership & for making INC princes wish to be PM will never be fulfilled. He has zero knowledge of internal leadership qualities & intricacies.
