      @@rickjohnson1632 I know man. Lol I was just trying to not make it sound too cheap just in case the buyer reads this. Lol. Just kidding. I tell you tho this really came out beautiful and I think he will make some good money off this one. I'm not a fan of the year, I always felt these years for this model looked more like a Taurus then a Mustang. My favorite years aside from the classics was the 1987 - 1989 GT. Man they came from the factory with the best body kit, dual exhaust and that beautiful 8cyl with, in my younger yesterday, so much power. OMG I loved that car. I seriously am thinking of getting one. They have two on Bring a Trailer for under $15,000. Just like everything from the late 80's - 90's are starting to go up in price and I'm pretty sure they are going to continue to go up because my generation has money in their pocket and can afford this.
      Anyway, thank you Rick for keeping me honest. 😜😜

    Wow! I just watched the whole Swamp Vette Series. Great Job. I will have to admit, I did snicker a little bit when you were pulling the plenum and fuel rails. Also, when it started having issues running from the beginning I had heard the exact engine sound from ours. I kept saying it's the injectors! It's the injectors. But I say all that out of understanding from when I went through the same issues on ours. I even posed a video on installing a new fuel pressure regulator on my channel. By that time I had removed the fuel rails and injectors a number of times. We wound up having to replace the entire fuel system. I also laughed when I saw the sending unit. Ours was exactly the same as that one. So I will say congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of the C4. I really enjoyed the posts. Keep up the good work.

    Right on, man. I'm glad you took the time to fix the 'Vette. Just recently I bought some reconditioned injectors for installation with an aftermarket fuel rail/ FPR setup. They cracked at the body and leaked immediately. The engine being an older non-crossflow inline 6, it was easy to see as soon as the fuel pump kicked on. The injectors were in plain sight, a luxury you didn't have. I'll scrimp here and there forever- That's the cloth I'm cut from. But I'll never try to save money on fuel injectors again.

  • @CR7659
    @CR7659 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You buy a project because you enjoy working on it and doing things to it, not because you want to make a huge profit on it.
    Now with a youtube channel you can use it to make content and cover your costs that way. Which is reasonable, and it lets you do way more to a car to make it nice than somebody might otherwise.
    But for the rest of us you do it for the pleasure of when that job is done and you turn the key and fire it up and it goes down the road and you know you're responsible for making it that way.
    If you don't enjoy working on it anymore then by all means sell. I've followed Randy long enough to know he has sort of a car ADD, he gets a car, works on it, then gets bored with it, or does all he can with it, then he sells it. Even his new cars he gets bored with after a while and sells.
    I had a chance to buy a nice G-van last month and I spent probably too much on it - because I like them and I like working on them. I'm on my second Express and I dread trying to fix the fuel pressure regulator. The fuel pump was nasty enough. Potential intake gasket job scares me. So when this G20 was auctioned off I went for it. Hopefully it isn't a total dog with the 4.3, because I could see getting 10, 15 years out of it.
    When I'm mad at the car I call it a flaming hunk of s---. When I'm not mad at the car I call it that too, but in an affectionate way. If I ever get to the point of having merch on my channel that's going to be on a T-shirt. lol

    If it makes you feel any better Randy, my wifes (Original owner) fully loaded 1996 Monte Carlo Z34 3.4 LQ quad cam runs great and the check engine light has been on since 1997. Every time I spend a day and a half to get the check engine light to go out, it runs like crap. It seems the GM cars run better in limp mode. And yes, the Z34 has been an ongoing project for 24 years. Even the dealer could never get the light out for more than a month. Junk wire harnesses! The car is still in pristine condition, I've become an expert at the most complicated timing belt procedure ever engineered, and the check engine light it is a fixture in this vehicle. Some degreeing of the cams bumps the HP to 245.
    Always could use some electrical tape to cover the Check light. Someday it will go to the Grave with the light still illuminating. But I consider keeping one of those cars going a badge of honor!
    Enjoyed the whole series with the swamp Vette. Well done! A badge of honor. Sad to see it go.

    In my opinion all the cars develop a character as you own them, some are a treat others give you a kick in the teeth now and then.

    I feel your pain. I own a 1990 vette and since day 1, it’s fought me to the end. Nothing was easy. It’s caught fire twice, left me stranded a few times, and almost killed me once. My wrath for this car was beyond belief. It’s like a bad ex. But after ALL of the repairs and kinks were ironed out (basically replaced everything), it became my favorite car to drive.

    Man, I (a FORD guy) need to get into another C4, someday! My "dream" one would have to be the "anniversary" '88 (white, even the wheels, with a white interior). Clean, it looks amazing, exotic for the 80's! :)

    Great work! In my opinion, have a red donor Corvette, swap parts into a white Corvette and then, paint red the white Corvette seems like a lack of creativity! But in overall, the hard work and the "not-give-up" attitude are the best of this restoration

    I would like to see some videos on restoring a c3 vette, preferably a 1977.They are inexpensive to buy, parts are cheap, and plentiful, easy to work on,because they are old school.Plenty of room in the, engine bay,to work on the aforementioned vehicle for sure. There is a big demand for these videos.a.k.a.Corvette ben, restoration obsession,,corvette bob,,, I know a series of videos on a c3 vette would be sick.I enjoy your videos, bro,ROCK ON.thanks russ.
