    I like the design of this seed signer. It looks cooler than the orange ones sold on their site right now..
    Is this a earlier design?..

    Ben, can you explain why for the multisig setup you opted to import the keystores using the xpub/watch only wallet rather than the air gapped wallet? I'm just trying out multisig using Sparrow and its guide says to use the air gapped wallet import for things like seedsigner. What are the pros/cons of doing it one way vs the other?

    I'm a little puzzled, apart from the hobby aspect, why we need another hardware device. Can't we just use the 24 words from an existing hardware wallet and use a bip85 software program to generate "child keys/mnemonics?"

    That's kind of the device I have been dreaming about! You don't need to connect a câble or anything else to your hot device and you are completely in control of the information you are sending to your hot device; basically the signature created using the seed.
    Question : Is there a possibility to import a private key to the seedsigner? Will there be this possibility in the near future?
    That would be just as useful. Some people may only have the private key of a single address lying around..
    I realize there may be a branding issue.. It's called "SEED"signer.. 🤣

    I realize the odds are infinitessimal, but if the seedsigner is completely airgapped, how do you know that the 12/24 word seedphrase is actually unique?

    • @123Noscope
      @123Noscope ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You don't have to trust the seedsigner to generate your 12/24 word seed phrase. You can generate your own with dice rolls or with the "entropia" entropy generator 3D printed pieces

    • @AnimusNitra-X
      @AnimusNitra-X 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      All the seedphrases allready exist. You choose one of them. Somebody else could choose the same as you have but there are more seedphrases than atoms in the universe. Make earth full of sand from inside till oudside. Make 10 of them. Now pick one grain of sand from one of the 10 planets. Will another one find the same grain of sand as you picked? If a third human will come then you have 15 planets full of sand.

    INTERESTING. Seems this is just as good or Better than a Ledger NanoS or Trezor. Seems to do the same thing or more. Can anyone explain the difference?

    • @knGftw
      @knGftw ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those store your seedphrase. With something like SeedSigner, you would need to rely on other ways of storage for your seedphrase, that’s why you need to input it every time. It’s a matter of choice which you prefer. A hardware wallet has the risk of being hacked (not easy). On the other hand, if you use SeedSigner you would need to have the confidence to handle the seedphrase physically more often, which could lead to disclosure to unwanted parties that can watch you or have access to this seedphrase. A hardware wallet also requires a seed phrase for backup, but allows it to be less accessible and only requires it to be safely stored on a hidden place for it to be consulted if needed.

    • @CanesFan65
      @CanesFan65 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@knGftw Thanks. So then my assessment is wrong and a Hardware wallet like a Ledger is better? Until recently, I never used a Passphrase with my seed words because I didn't fully understand it. Now that I have used it with my Ledger Nano S, I feel much less concerned if my Seed Words somehow get compromised. I'm curious if that line of thinking is BAD. My thought is this: IF someone were to get my 24 Seed Words, they would never know IF there is a Passphrase set up or not. And since there is an UNLIMITED number of passphrase that you can create with each set of seed words, and each passphrase can be virtually anything, then it seems IMPOSSIBLE that anyone could ever GUESS the passphrase IF one was even set up. IF they assumed that one WAS set up, then trying to crack it could take an eternity and would likely be impossible. Is my thinking on this correct or is it also Flawed?????

    • @soundgrips
      @soundgrips ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CanesFan65 No if someone has your seedphrase then they can import it to a new wallet and use their own password. Your seedphrase is the key. If someone else has it then they have full access to your wallet.

    Great stuff! Any way to get direct printer support for this? Might save a lot of grief for us weak-eyed fat-fingered old farts! With easy data leakage from almost any device I'm starting to see a case for an old film camera and a mini darkroom at home.
