idk about most artist but the most joy i get out of animation is doing it not seeing people appreciate it, i think it’s the same for most people, people seeing ur art is more of an extra
Yes your right. I animate and it takes months for me. And barely any people saw it on my alt. It's the same as making videos

I'm sick and tired of all these people saying "this is flipaclip!!?" As if flipaclip is all that bad. If you have determination, the app you use doesn't matter. It just takes a lot of practice. So if you are a flipaclip animator, just practise because practice makes perfect. Just change your mindset

Facts, FlipaClip isn’t bad it’s just that some people probably use it better than you. Personally I love FlipaClip and I’ve been getting better and animation thanks to it
I say the same thing I use flipaclip for my animatics. Although it does not have a lot of features but still if u are determined than u can make anything.
Ya know I do appreciate the sentiment of messages like this but, the tools you use do make a difference. Trying to make good-quality animations like this on FlipaClip is *very* difficult, very time-consuming, and very tedious, as opposed to a more advanced animation program. It’s not impossible for everybody, but it’s much more work to produce the same quality work that somebody with a better animation program could make much more easily. Almost no amount of skill will compensate for the massive handicap that is having bad tools and bad materials.
I originally scrolled past this, but then thought, “that’s probably one of those videos I randomly get recommended that I’ll regret not watching.”
So of course I went back up and clicked on it. Within the first 5 seconds, I knew. I was right.

0:25 This animation, though unfinished, had such an impact on me for some reason. I love all those scenes and the little story wrapped up in the mix of it all. The absence of people in places that you’d assume to be crowded add to the feeling of loneliness that I believe is trying to be portrayed. I love how you can feel the emotions of the piece with a little tune without any words needed. I feel like this animation would be a wonderful story and I don’t really have words to describe why. It was just lovely and I loved every snippet of it.
tiff It’s like walking or catching the bus/train to school. Noticing all the small things in your every day routine. It’s like nostalgic disassociation, you’re here and so is everything around you. And it always is the same, yet changes and you change.
I love scenes like these because it forces you into a perspective like “what would life be like if I was the only one?” To me this animation sort of has a sense of abandonment (apart from it being unfinished) and I love it.
I love both your perspectives on the animation! Maybe the whole beauty of it is that it can have so many different meanings to whoever may be seeing it.

Honestly, I always come here when I'm not doing okay. I think it has been more than a year now. There's a certain magic in it that draws me, and it triggers some kind of emotion I don't quite understand. But I love it. That's just how good these animations are yknow, eventhough they're unfinished

you can definitely make a living off of art! theres many jobs out there and many different types of art to pursue, you could have anything from a freelance art job to working in an office drawing stuff. trust me lmao im a college art student, took a lot of convincing to get my family to be ok with me pursuing that degree type, but theres art literally everywhere we look, and usually someone was payed to make it.

I'd love to see a finished version of the two time animation. You've got a really unique take on the song compared the other memes, and as someone who just dropped out of college, I recognized some of the feelings in that.

This video just really reeks 2020 quarantine era. The songs used (e.g. Jack Stauber) just adds an even stronger sense of nostalgia, at least to me I guess. I remember watching this back then in my bedroom, not really thinking much of it. I’m glad to rediscover it again and notice some differences since my last watch, it’s like opening a time capsule almost. Rensaven, wherever u are rn, I hope ur doing well and will return one day maybe with new amazing animations to share with us :)

the last one is an interesting take on the Two Time meme and I would love to see what it would look like finished. I can tell they were going for the feeling of loneliness one feels after finishing school and living alone as an adult. Its so easy for those friends you were so close to in school to quickly drift away from you, moving away or getting wrapped up in their own lives. Its easy, especially for introverts, to isolate yourself and just let those threads get looser and looser. seeing "what happened to you?" felt like a message to oneself, having noticed the disappearing entourage of friends over the past months. You go through your daily routine, eating breakfast, buying groceries, trying to be an independent adult, unknowingly (or perhaps knowingly but no longer caring) secluding yourself further and further away, spiraling towards depression. Its a problem that I can relate to that is hard to get out of. It takes a willingness to take the steps necessary to reach out to those you knew and branch out to new friends in your area.

They're all really good honestly and full of emotion. While I'd have loved to see them finished and I think the more polished ones are amazing, there's something really lovely about the other animations' unfinished state??
I can't really describe it properly, but the bodiless faces, scenes losing color or turning into messier sketches, the parts where only the body parts that move are shown... are just REALLY cool to look at and makes me think that there's someone remembering those scenes (but not every detail) and the parts that hit them the most are the only ones shown on the screen. Like at 1:57, 2:17, 2:37 and 4:33 to 4:48.
I'm rambling now and I barely even animate but this video inspires me SO MUCH and makes me wonder how to replicate that very specific feeling in a finished animation.
I keep coming back to this video-- ur stuff just motivates me
