For those who don't yet have this book and deck, I really appreciate your thorough description. I acquired this set a couple years ago since everyone was raving about the book -- even though the art isn't my aesthetic -- and no regrets at all. The book is well worth the purchase even if someone never uses the deck; I have the book sitting separately on my reference shelf and there's a reason it's often mentioned as a 'classic' book. Like you, I tend to read the cards, interpret in my own way (and I write it all down usually), *prior* to reading any book's description, etc. I've plenty of imagination (magic story coming in from the Beyond) to include in any divinatory practice. Blessings!
@@DaraDione I am so glad to hear how the book has benefitted you. I absolutely agree that this is a book that is full to the brim with useful information. I checked earlier, I had purchased the book separately for my kindle. I totally identify with intuitive reading and active imagination. I also find that this also sends itself to relaxing yet informative meditation too. Thank you so much for your support and interacting on the channel. ❤️🙏
Thank you Elaine for all your detailed and wonderful analytical comments. You really linked the cards feelings in a way that stirred up their shadow side and I feel empathy for them. The Empresa and Emperor as example 😢 sad. Thanks again I do so much appreciate your great interpretation and knowledge. 🥰
Thanks for sharing Elaine, tarot of vampyres was one of my first tarot decks and is still one of my favourites, the imagery is so beautiful the art draws you in and is how I imagine vampires to be. The book is fantastic as well, I also have his fairies oracle which again the artwork is beautiful. Love & blessings ❤
@@suegrant6608 Thank you, you are very welcome. I agree the Art is amazing. The book is an absolute treasure too. I will have to look up the Oracle deck. Thank you 👍😊
Oh gosh one of if not the most fav deck I have . It’s like a fine wine, gets better and better. The empress reminds me of pricilla Presley .. perhaps when she was a little younger . But it is such a deep and wonderful deck to have. It teaches so much .
So great to see you. Very unusual deck. Your insight on the cards always amazes me. Bringing up religion , I was wondering if you have given any more thought on a video on leaving established religion and how you found your way to something new. If you do not feel that is a good idea, no problem I would understand. I am sure you will be delving in deep to this new deck and book. I hope you have a wonderful day.
@@ElaineMurphy66 I am over busy sweetie, also mercury retrograde gave me several kicks up de bottom. my dog was sick, brakes of the car went boom! and my speaker gave up on the computer. pffff. otherwise I am fine sweetie. thank you for your concern. love and peace Char. 🫖🫖🍵🍵🌹🌹🍀🍀
Thanks for this Elaine. I wouldn't have considered this deck as its theme seemed too far on the dark side, leaning into the Occult. The 3 of knives represents heartbreak in the RW deck. Very clear here but also shows how much more we learn from upsets and disappointment than easier times. That suit is clear and consistent in this deck. Being the last shown it could just be that I'd clicked with it by then. Seems like an interesting deck to use for its added insight. The Hermit is linked well to the 3 of knives here. Insight from experience being hard to share. After all, we have to be young and very foolish before we can gain the wisdom of experience in old age. I see what you mean about the Hanged Man. I've always seen it as a man reversed on a cross, not a gibbet. Gained insight from you though. I've mostly interpreted it as projects/plans stalling or not being completed. My grandmother read tea leaves and regular playing cards. Her daughter/my mother also had the ability but spooked herself with it the first time she saw Tarot. She didn't like the Hanged Man. At all. That's the reason she gave for avoiding reading altogether, though she enjoyed social card games. Thing is, she was sociopathic and narcissistic, something that would always be revealed by that card. Looking back on the occasions when I've had difficulty understanding its context in a spread, the false tales promoted by the various people it represented just fell into place. We never stop learning. Another lapsed Catholic here. The horrific practices were bad enough. What compounded it for me was the change to the profession of faith. The claim of clarity was too explicit - women and children excluded under the insistence of all men, not the commonly practiced All. Pfft. Impossible to effect change from within where such power is forced. Some stand too high to notice the fatal cracks in their pedestals. I agree with you there.
@@michellebyrom6551 thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video and to contribute such an in-depth response. I found that many of the majors really took you deep into the cards, very much on the level that you have described with the three of swords. I found it very interesting reading how you found the hanged man. I generally like the hanged man as it instructs me to step back and reassess things, whereas this deck has a much deeper vibe. Mind you, on saying that, it is a shadow deck so will have that darker energy. It is one to pick out at certain times when you are feeling that 'melancholic' energy, digging around to find out why you feel like that. Thank you so much, once again for your response. Much appreciated. ❣️🙏
Elaine, I'm loving your handsome haircut and green blazer. I do wish you'd check and boost the volume of your microphone. The volume on my laptop is up all the way and I struggle a bit to hear your share. Maybe I just have an inadequate laptop, but I don't seem to have the same issue with other channels. A contributor to my difficulty might also be that since it's a hot summer, I have fans and air conditioning going on here. I enjoyed the investment in study and analysis of the deck that you shared even though vampires are not a theme for tarot that draws me in. I was impressed by all your little pink post-its indicating particular points of note to be made.
@@toadstooltarot Hi Robin, firstly thank you for the compliments and also for the constructive criticism. I am so sorry that you had difficulty hearing the video. I have checked the volume here and it is clear, however I find the image is very dulled or blurry. I do need to invest in a new camera. I may opt to use a separate mic as opposed to the built in one in the camera itself, that may rectify the volume issue that you are experiencing. It is lovely to have your contribution and advice. I hope you are keeping well. Kind regards, Elaine ❣️🙏
Great to see you again 😊 Thank you for your insight into The tarot of the Vampyres. It all sounds a little too complicated for me. I love how you can just look at a card and come up with a full explanation and tell us how you feel and what you see in that perticular card. I struggle as I did at school 😂 my mind just goes blank 😂 I can hear the sound OK but the intro is very loud compared to the rest. Take care 😊❤️
@@christineatkinson6863 thank you for that Christine. I think I am in need of new hardware here alright. I think my interpretation comes from an over active imagination. I loved writing stories when I was younger 🤣 Thanks again Christine for giving me the heads up on the sound ❤️🙏
Hi Elaine. Sound seemed o.k on my mobile, although a sound of a fan was muffling your vocal projection slightly. I think this deck is such a gem. Mine bas a little chipped when it arrived to. This is OOP, so random decks with sellers are all that's left now. Llewellyn apparently sent oneness emporium their last 10 decks a while back. The book is where the magic happens though. Nice walk through, thank you for your insights.
@@AntoinetteTarot ah that is great to hear Antoinette, so I was extremely lucky getting this one despite the marks. The fan noise must be from the PC. My sister was a Catholic but my parents raised half of us Catholic and half of us Presbyterian I don't know why they chose that. But it's been very interesting and I think It ultimately led me to Tarot, which MOST people, of religious backgrounds, would/do definitely try to steer me away from. But Tarot has been one of the most enlightening processes and has brought me to a closer relationship with the Holy Spirit and God than just about anything else ever has. AND I've had some AMAZING pastors and teachers in my life. I think your last conclusion was the most relatable of all for me: which is you have to be READY for "shadow work" and when you are and when you're really opens his spirit and listening to God, His Holy Spirit really does talk to us. The only quandary I'm having with Tarot is whether I should do readings in publicly. First because there are so many very qualified extremely talented tarot readers out there. I wonder am I just another voice in the midst or a waste of someone's time because someone else might be more talented than me that they could be listening to... And, of equal importance to me, is so many people can take what is said the "wrong" way or don't understand that their discernment must be applied to every reading. And THAT is something I would NEVER want to do: mislead someone or send them down the wrong path, even unintentionally. And that's what's kept me from doing Tarot readings publicly.
@@suzannenichols6900 reading for the public is a big step. You will naturally feel very nervous at first. I recommend that you start with folk you know, even yourself as reading for yourself is so hard as you cannot be in any way biased. Build up your confidence and start small. As you do, you will begin to trust your own insight and interpretation. If you have friends who are into tarot, share by reading for each other. It is a great confidence building exercise. I think it is great that you have developed your own spiritual/religious path and find that a lot of what you say reflects my own experience.
