Utterly beautiful Lyon & Healy harps. Playing it on two harps certainly does resolve the perennial issues with balance. Is it worth giving up the tone colors of flute and strings? Not sure. Definitely an improvement over a piano accompaniment. But it does lose the concertante aspect, so it remains questionable.
It definitely keeps it in the realm of impressionism, unlike so many contemporary performances that are just loud and overbearing. This performance is much more Ravellian.
