IF I'm understanding things correctly (I'm still learning a lot in preparation for having to "reinvent the wheel"), the temperature is controlled by regulating the burn, via the air flow coming in.
Darwin, I would love to help with the kickstarter but I am unemployed and taking care of my Brother who is handicapped. Can you tell me what the plans will run after the kickstarter is over? Also, what do you expect the unit would cost on average to build including the pellet hopper?
Clean gas with balled up wet newspaper dipped in wood ash. Then rub in a circular motion n the dirty glass. But also stove glass seems to get dirty, the ‘ self clean ‘ ~ burn off / clean.
Yes you Do. You are not the only one to ask that. After the video today I have had people that bought the insiders only package upgrade to the early bird special. I spoke with Mrs. Honey Do about it and we Feel as though combining the two is the fairest thing to do at this point. So any one that purchases the early bird special will also get an exclusive link to the insiders only access as well.
Mass containment apparatus = box. In all seriousness I would consider welding some thinner say .. 1/8" flat stock at about 3/4 to 1" on the outside of the riser like a radiator sink and either use a sterling stove top fan or a thin shroud outside of that instead of the gravel. Better heat transmitter than lose stone don't you think? Welding it on vertical or horizontal depends on how you want to spread that heat with a fan and shroud like the "box" or passive. I also looked at the cost of large aluminum sinks and bolting those on the outside shell. This seemed too expensive but not sure.
Boilers should be tested and proved in long time operation before a selling process is started. A rocket stove burn at very high temperatures. This affect the material more than in conventional stoves. The lifespan of the wrong material in the core will result in very short lifespan. It is a hard tricky to make a durable, easily cleanable, affordable, clean burning stove with high efficiency. You claim this is a versatile concept, sure but modifying parts of the concept affect temperaures, draft, efficiency. Thats is why one should start of with a design that works and make slight modifications. You cant just skip the bench without either suffer low efficiency or adding more heat transfer surface. I would buy from someone who actually have tried and proved the concept for many year of operation.
Love seeing the inside of the new stove!
Man this is fantastic!! So many possibilities!
Excellent Video Darwin!
best wishes, love the development!
The 'Brainchild' model just keeps getting better and better! When your stock goes public, let me know! 👍🏻
Mad mad mad skillz and not the mention the brainwork apparatus
I love the pellets feeders system. Show it!
Do you make a stove and oven using this system?
May 2020 - I don’t see anything about the stove in the Etsy store. Are you still working on it ? If so do you have a rough ETA ? Ty 👍
Sweet
Use contained pinballs as the mass instead of the rock. Major dense Mass that will charge and retain heat for hours if not a day.
What if you added air damper for the bed around the secondary burn chamber to better control room temperature?

I want to buy one!😁

Trying to design a rocket stove that makes biochar.
wouldn't it be nice to have the bench a big ol bed! No more cold feet in 40 below. HaHa
Does purchasing the Early Bird Special include the privileges of the Insiders Only Club? Or are each of these a separate thing???

You try too hard to sound smarter than you are. Anyone can draw plans. Build it and see if it actually works in all the ways you think it will.
