I really appreciate the written guides! I am old school I guess, but I really prefer to start a new build with a written doc as they feel less overwhelming to me, and generally are quicker for me to digest. If I need more details or tweaks once I start playing the videos are great for extra insight as well though.
Played the game in 2016, wasnt my thing. Tried it again in 2020, enjoyed it. Just picked it back up and saw the arcanist, and ive been enjoying the game more than ever.
The written guide has a couple of mistakes. Probably left from copypasting a template. Race is Dark Elf, Khajiit, Orc or Redguard, mundus is The Lover, food is Lava Foot Soup and Saltrice and potion is Weapon Critical. So the base has been copied from some stamina build with low pene.
I’m a new player, and I hadn’t realised what the point of the second bar was. I had my runeblades, I had my tentacles, i had my laser, a heal, a shield and tide kings gaze. So my dps was fine, but it never occurred to me to put the abilities I wasn’t spamming on the back bar, it makes so much sense though! Thanks for the tip!
Hey everyone, i play on console so heres my recommendation that feels pretty good. Alright so magicka arcanist is a little clunky on a controller and your rotation looks like this with fateweaver armor and the treatise skill RB -> RB -> AI -> RB -> RB -> FC As you can figure out RB is runeblades, AI is abyssal impact, and FC is fate carver. Imo stamina flows much more cleanly and i was able to clear ver coral aerie with CP 570. Here was my rotation with fateweaver armor and treatisie too. AI -> AI -> FC -> AI -> AI -> FC With the stamina morph of AI you generate crux and it deals a good amount of damage too. With the same amount of presses you get more uses of fatecarver. I run pillar of nirn jack, gauntlets, pants, boots, and belt. Deadly strike rings, amulet, duel daggers, and restoration staff. Monster set is medium set of Elden root I, the one where you have a 33% chance to spawn the plant to heal you when you use a healing ability. The stamina morph of AI heals you so in your rotation you have a good chance to proc it to heal you without you having to stop dps
I picked Orc for my Solo Magicka Arcanist because I don't want my choice in what class/build I wanna play dictate what my character can look like. Have had a blast so far
@@kimhyunwoo8983 some people are really into hand to hand but that sounds more like a skill line to me & I don’t see it being very popular. Although I guess that has never stopped the devs before considering tales of tribute haha
If your starting a new character as an arcanist working towards this build the vivecs duality set is a really good set to work towards getting right at the beginning

Hi👋 Medium set pillar of nirn on a magicka character like you said in the video?? Or Aurorans thunder how it shows in the written guide? Have a nice day😊
I see you have the Pale order ring on the group content setups. That's probably a mistake, at least for trials - you don't go into trial with that ring on.
Briarheart is inferior to forest wraith, as you gain your SD/WD from med on body, since you gain pen from passives. Ansuul on the trial set config outdpess whorl in most content and similarly nirn due to small ae size.
I have just a couple questions. The first so it is pillar of norm for the armor. I know it is medium armor and I get the hybridization in the game. Just wanted to be sure. The next question, which five piece bonus are you sacrificing for the Ring of Pale order. I was thinking of keeping the bonus from deadly strikes set. Wanted to know your thought.
thanks for waiting as close to release as possible to release an arcanist build lucky, i'll definitely be giving it a go when it comes out on console, i loved the arcanist during my brief time on the pts but i only tried magicka so this build is perfect for me, i do have 1 question though, is there a flex slot on either bar to use inner light instead so i don't have to jump straight into spell crit pots and instead use either tri pots or base magicka pots to start with?
@@LuckyGhostESO oh nice, i always feel weird using daggers for magicka builds so the staff suggestion is perfect :), thanks for the reply, you just made me a little more hyped for console release now lol
You can make it work lore-wise. My character was a Morag Tong assassin who learned a few tricks from the Telvanni and exploits all the arcane power she can get, while still preferring to tackle matters with her blades if possible :)
People use DW as mag because it has raw damage passives. Staff passive are mostly linked to staff skills, so damage is higher on a lot of builds with DW
It's my first time trying this style out; as someone used to ranged magika DPS it does feel weird to use melee weapons instead of pure staves, but it really fits my character and I am starting to enjoy it a lot!
@@LuckyGhostESO thank you for the reply! Was curious if one was better for DPS than the other. And if sustain was better with one or the other. So far it seem they’re both pretty balanced?
I had a magicka Arcanist until someone in one of the groups I’m in basically gave me some STAMINA stuff, so as of now yesterday, I sat there for a while trying to fix my stats up for a stamina character and I really didn’t want to do that, but I didn’t have the heart to tell those 2 good people. I wanted to avoid making another stamina guy unless I can find some gear that lets me have good stamina sustain when I’m using DPS-like abilities. If only I could find either some good gear, jewelry or food good enough to keep stamina, I think I can still make that work. Been having a blast on ESO lately - even if my PS5 controller has been experiencing stick drift since yesterday…. 🤦♂.
Ok I'm very new to ESO and I'm thinking of starting this class but I'm wondering if a Lighting Staff would work instead of the Dagger build? I like range DPS not so much in your face combat.
If ur wanting to dps you are gonna want to use an Inferno staff as flame does the most damage out of the 3 elements. There are some morphs on the build I don’t agree with but that’s ok.
I’ve been wondering why everyone has been using this bill but once I started playing at myself, I realized why because it’s super overpowered even in the early levels
So the website presents different information than what is presented in the video for the Dungeon Set loadout of the Magicka Arcanist. Is Pillar of Nirn no longer BIS for the build?

There's 2 different weapon damage glyphs for jewelry. One gives you a little stamina recovery the other a little Magicka recovery. The build uses a staff and 2 daggers, so which glyphs for the jewelry?
I’m new but I’m extremely curious you always put maelstrom arena weapons on the back bar but you don’t get the two piece set bonus which will proc the set, so why run a single piece of arena gear on the back bar weapon? I’m probably missing something but ide love some insight on what I’m missing
I appreciate your videos, but I wish you would make some of your written guides into long-form content for those on mobile who don't have second monitors to watch and play
Thinking of a Battle Mage Arcanist using Shacklebreaker & Rattlecage Dark Elf race , Any thoughts on it ? I want to use it running the world but still be able to take a beet down because I like to do PVP sometimes & I hate to keep changing Armor .
My one qualm with the video is that you specifically state the base game gear is no DLC but Briarheart and Order’s Wrath are both from DLC. I’m guessing because you can probably buy them even without DLC?
