I have to ask though, are you a professionally trained vocalist, and if so, were trained in singing a different type of music that isn't like heavier, rock or metal music? Cause I noticed when you're singing, you voice always sounds very clean kind of totally pure I guess, even when the song calls for a raspier, grittier style of vocals. Your vocals almost sound kind of operatic. So I was curious if maybe you were taught to not sing that way, or if I'm totally wrong it's all just coincidental. Either way, I think ou should maybe consider working on that. Like in Andrew Wells's section of this song, when he sings "I CAAAN'T BELEEEEIIIVE it's NOOOT ENOOOUUGH...", he's almost yelling and distorting the sound of his voice. It creates a sense that he deeply, passionately means what he's singing on an emotional level, and it also just sounds real real gooood lol. So yeah, idk. I just thought maybe you should consider working on that if you want to.

Thanks! Yeah, took voice lessons for about 2 years from a professional vocal coach. Definitely learned some techniques I would have never figured out myself. The vibrato isn’t necessary deliberate, it just happens when you’re relaxed, and sing with little to no tension. I’ve been incorporating a little more distortion and grit into my clean singing recently, but my voice isn’t naturally raspy at all, so it’s a bit more challenging. I’ve been working on the pitched screaming that Jon does for years, and it’s still a work in progress! Also yes, I could sing some opera shit, but that’s not as fun, ya know?
