Guess I needed some confirmation after I already bought it (and the TAC) but nice to see an update after a year. Have had one EMR05 that didn’t get hot enough (pads never turned white) and another that’s kinda fallen apart. Hoping this one’s a better alternative since it looks like the heating systems updated. There’s pads that fit from AliExpress that cost like $5 for 100. Check the size if you test them, some you need to shove two in since they’re half sized. Are they possibly killing me? Maybe, but they work as far as I can tell. These and Thermacells on iso have been great since I live by a marsh and backpack. Just unfortunate it’s poison to fish iirc. Them and the poor bees that fly into the restricted airspace.
I have that home. Tryd last night and saw a few flying around in my place. I got 1 bite in the night. Without I got nearly 5-15 per night every where. Im using this for home. Still testing.
interestingly enough - I just bought an EMR40 and in less than one day it stopped working and would not charge or turn on. It's been returned for a replacement, but thinking there must be a quality control issue with a lot of things. I have a Flextail Tiny Repeller S and had the similar thing happen (stopped working in < 1 month) but the replacement appears to be working better than the first one I had that barely seemed to heat up - the replacement, you can smell it and it gets much hotter. Thinking overall quality control is struggling so any purchases should be wary and defintely only buy with warranty
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSAI get that, but it's a bad look sending out faulty products, especially when it's not mass produced (small company), meaning a high percentage of duds are in their inventory. It's a horrible business practice. You're not going to succeed with poor quality control
@Adrenaline89Junky lol not what I said at all I believe you’d be more pissed if there was no warranty and you were stuck with the dud is what I’m saying I do understand business and I agree with you but shit happens that’s why warranty’s are important
Have you tried thermacell mats in the nitecore devices and vice versa? It would be great if i only had to buy 1 brand of mat but have a few different options on devices
Hello from Denmark. Could you make a test to see if any of the cheap noname mats work ? I think the Thermacell and Nitecore and FlexTail mats are pretty expensive...
I prefer to test pads I know have been tested and safe to use I’m unsure I would trust the no name cheap pads personally, you can test them out but that’s a pass from me
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Aha so you had already dropped it 99 times :) Have you tried the Nitecore EMR05 in EU it's an even cheaper option wondering if you have nay expereince?
It lasted long enough for any of my hunts, when I hunted spring turkey in Kentucky I just brought a light powerbank in case it died afield as we were hunting literally all day
I have Thermacell and I have no complaints about it, apart from the fact that the refills are expensive. I bought a Nitecore EMR40 2 weeks ago, after 5hrs of continuous use, the mat was still blue like it was before I put it in, no sign of smoke like with the Thermacell. Ok, I thought it was defective, the guys at the store sent me another EMR40 today, same problem, can't get rid of mosquitoes, turned on my Thermacell, mosquitoes are gone :)
Thanks for all the hard work! Looks like I'm goin' Nitecore. 💥👊🏻💥
Check out the new one! I haven’t tested it yet but I will be shortly!
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Thank you brother! Try and stay cool! Haha.
@Hondo-kj8hi you too! Ahahah
Nitecore getting it now 👍🏻
Thx
Hell ya man!

I’m not buying from aliexpress for pads I’ll stick to thermacell & nitecore pads

@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA will it use the same pads ?
@lowbuget687 yessir
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA thank you very much .
Keep going .
I tryd now a few weeks. Thermacell pads and nitecore pads. The thermacell pads works very good no one around . Nitecore pads I get stung a few times.
👍 Just bought the EMR06 TAC
Thoughts?
Great video man!
Thanks man! Make sure to check out the swamp test with all the mosquito repellers I’ve put to the test !

Warranty is key!
Yea, I'm returning mine after using it. Warranty doesn't mean a damn thing if this thing doesn't work right off the bat
Warranty still does as you can get a replacement
I’ve had zero issues outside the drop and I used it for months hardcore

Bought my daughter a Rossi Tuffy for turkey season. What do you think the best ammo/choke combo for this gun would be?
Well we do have the bco patterning service LLC available….

Thanks for the video! Sounds like you had some bad luck there with the fall. Could probably drop it another 100x and wouldn't have broken.
Hard to say honestly it got beat up good might just been the final straw either way for $40 I have zero complaints I love it

I have not no sir that’s the one that needs a power bank?
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Yeah thats right the 05 is run on a powerbank. I'm wondering if this will prove a bit cumbersome
@theshortgolfer8687 peep this one!

Have you reviewed Thermacell’s multi insect refills? If so how do they compare to the regular mosquito ones?
I’d have to check what I have tried!
Hope to hear more on EMR 10 or even 30 although I know that's not in your wheelhouse.
@brembofly Emr 10 is back out being tested!
They came out with a new one that I’ll be testing soon!
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA Based on your excellent reviews I’ve purchased the Nitecore MR10. Can you recommend mats for indoor use, thanks.
@geoffhorlock4566 I have never tested any for indoor use
I used it for the first time for 7 hours. Why is the mat/pad still blue on the side facing down? Thanks
I have no idea I didn’t use yours lol
Where can you buy the Thermacell multi insect pads only ? I don't need the fuel. Are Nitecore multi insect pads available?
Not sure I listed all links to everything available in the description of everyone of these videos
Here’s yet another link

Can you use emr40 in high winds
You can’t really use any of these in high winds
does this work for no see ums/ eye gnats?
We don’t have no see ums round us so I can’t say for that but gnats it’s hit or miss
@@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA thanks a bunch!
@BoardCertified you betcha!
Don’t buy it, waste of money. It just doesn’t work, nothing like Thermacell.
